  1. Stayed off social media last night because I was that angry, I might have written something I would later regret, but I’m still fuming over 24 hours later. People can sugar coat this as much as they like , but there are two things that Football radar cannot measure (even if the stats of these players can make great reading), passion and bottle. Most of these players have neither, in fact only Cameron appears to have the aggression needed for this league. Add that into the fact that we must have the smallest side in the league and the total is that we are going nowhere. To capitulate from 2-0 up against 10 men is scandalous, especially after Saturday’s fiasco. If this happens again, the manager can pack his bags and he can dump the Football Radar idea in the bin on the way out.
  2. Must admit that I'm with @Elite_pie on this one. No player should be fatigued at this stage of the season when the pitches are in excellent condition and they are training full time. If anything, you would expect a semi-pro player to be more tired as the games go on because they aren't training full time and are at smaller clubs with fewer facilities. So against these players and teams we should expect Notts players to be fitter, even if the coach does not put such an importance on it. Fair enough if a player is carrying a knock as they will be struggling more, but anybody who is fully fit should not be fatigued in September.
  3. I think we'll probably start with a 5 again but feel that we look better with a flat back four and it will make us more effective for home games. Home game against average opposition, so it's imperative that we win really if we are going to be serious this season. Home draws will do us no favours at all.
  4. Thoroughly enjoyable second half once we reverted to a back four, put Roberts out wide and brought Mitchell on. I think Mitchell could be a very good signing, once he learns to make the right decisions. Roberts has to play wide for me, he seems a bit lost inside and is nowhere near as effective. Full credit to Aldershot as well for trying to win a game of football fairly. I thought Andrews took both of his goals well after totally scuffing a couple of chances earlier. No catering facilities at all in the Family stand this week, we had to go over to the main stand in order to get a drink before the game.
  5. Not sure about Nemane yet, he came on and ran round like a raggy doll to begin with and he clearly only uses his left foot for standing on. He has potential but is still very raw. As for the game generally, I thought Torquay worked hard from the start without looking that great, but we just seemed a little slow. We need to get the ball to Ruben & Cal more as we were just too crab like with our approach play. I counted at least six times when we could have taken a a shot from around 25 yards out but decided to go sideways rather than test the keeper (who had a very easy day). First half was pretty bad, but we did look better in the second half when we switched to a back four. At least we didn’t lose, but we also didn’t deserve to win the game. I can see us being a lot better on Monday though.
  6. As long as he doesn't play JOB, Doyle and Reeves together from the start we should be OK, but can see us giving away a sloppy goal. 2-1 Notts, but if Weymouth score first 1-1.
  7. Interesting thread and as I thought, the only real need for a mask outdoors is if you're in a location where you will struggle to social distance. She has a very unfortunate name though ????
  8. I thought this was actually one of Tony Blair's better ideas, vaccinate as many people as possible once in order to lift lockdown's sooner. Can't see an issue in doing this with the Pfizer jab as it gives quite a high level of efficacy after one jab, maybe more of a problem with the Oxford jab as it takes both injections to get to over 60% efficacy. The main aim is to get hospitalisations down, so would think the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation know what they are doing, especially with the chair being one of the developers of the Oxford vaccine (although he sat out of this discussion so as not to compromise his position).
  9. I'm sorry, but if you think Starmer is ahead of the curve then you must be watching him through your red rose tinted spectacles. The bloke has sat on more fences than there are National jumps and even his own members are starting to turn against him. The red wall doesn't trust him and he has now alienated remainers with his comments yesterday. I think you have missed my comment about the whole political scene being a disgrace. Boris has been appalling, I didn't want him but we ended up with him and he has had free reign because Labour are in the wildeness (thanks to Corbyn politics and a poor front bench), he won't see out the five year term, that will be handed to Sunak most likely and he will probably stroll the next election as the Liberals are practically non existent in offering a third solution.
  10. To be honest, cannot remember as I think I only got to number 7 or 8. My point is that the Labour party have offered nothing during the last few months and are a bit of a shambles as they are opposition in name only. He doesn't really have the right to try and score points when he can offer no ideas in return. It's a bit like "Vote for me, we have no idea how to fix this either but haven't the government done a terrible job, so let's remove them and have more of the same". The whole political scene is a disgrace at the moment.
  11. Actually stopped reading this when I realised it was written by a member of parliament for the most ineffective opposition of the last 20 years.
  12. Plus it is dirt cheap compared to the others, so we will be vaccinated for a fraction of the cost of the Moderna vaccine. Efficacy results may be lower but it has been totally effective in lowering the symptoms and keeping people out of hospital.
  13. UK have now started rolling out vaccine booster jabs with Margaret Keenan receiving hers today.
  14. Israel are vaccinating at an incredible rate of around 1.5% of their population every other day. To put that in perspective, France hope to have 1.5% done by the end of February!
  15. Nonsense. The UK have ordered only 7 million doses of the Modena vaccine whilst the EU ordered 240 million (initial 160 and a further 80). The EU did offer for us to join their purchase program but that would have meant the 800k people already vaccinated would have still been left at risk from their dithering.
  16. Oxford vaccine being passed should really ramp up the roll out as it will enable pharmacists and other outlets to administer it.
  17. That would be called an Aeroplane mate.... I’m not a fan of this government and it has made some gigantic mistakes and wasted shed loads of money regarding COVID, but will give it (or rather the MHRA) credit with passing the vaccine for use and the NHS for distributing it. The EU’s response has been very slow and they had to bring this decision forward because countries are desperate for the vaccine. I’ll be interested to see numbers when it comes to vaccine distribution on how all the 27 countries will receive the same amount of vaccine per head at the same time.
  18. Meanwhile... UK covid-19 vaccinations administered: 500,000+ EU covid-19 vaccinations administered : 0 MHRA Passes vaccine for use 2nd December EU Passes same vaccine 21st December Sometimes it’s worth paying a bit more to get it first.
  19. Quite @lambleypie. I'm not concerned about the Moderna vaccine and only getting low numbers of it, it's a nonstory really pushed by people trying to score political points. Both the Pfizer and Oxford vaccine will be available before it and we have ordered 140 million doses between the two of them. I doubt they will get to me on the list until the back end of next year at the earliest and you young ones won't get it at all.
  20. Sorry @Chris, I could not disagree more with your first part. If anything, years 10 and 11 are old enough to cope with remote learning, plus it is the older teens that spread the virus more than younger pupils. Younger pupils HAVE to have face to face schooling as for most, nothing will be done at home and some, especially those from poorer families it seems will never catch up in the future, which would be a tragedy as basically you are throwing away nearly halve a generation of kids by leaving them with no future. Out of all the schools I attend, not one member of teaching staff has wanted their school to close and they are the ones who you could say are at greater risk of contracting it. Totally agree regarding University students, they should never have reopened and that probably all comes down to the money they generate. They are all working remotely now anyway so should have stayed at home to do it.
  21. Opening schools and keeping them open is 100% the right thing to do, regardless of transmission. A lot of children need the routine and structure of school to aid their development and for some children, it is the only place they can feel safe.
  22. Not too fussed about it to be honest, just reminds me of the swine flu pandemic around 10 years ago. I think there is more danger from panic than the actual virus and I'm just hoping the hysteria has died down before the end of May when I'm due to go on holiday.
