  1. It was all a bit unnecessary really. Rawlo is perfectly entitled to his opinion and probably took offence to Tom’s comments after the first two games of the season. This may have been gnawing at him and after seeing Tom’s post on a different sport, he snapped. Rawlo isn’t a very active tweeter, so probably hasn’t got notifications switched on and was possibly warned it was kicking off by a teammate, hence the slow deletion. Personally, I would have much preferred him to go after Tom for any disparaging remarks on the team rather than a totally random sport.
  2. Totally agree with you @menzinho, I was very disappointed with Stones effort for their second. It was right in front of me and it looked like he was anticipating a touch from the first forward so did not position himself for the actual ball path. Thought Brindley was by far the pick of the back 3, Cameron had a pretty poor game defensively and Baldwin always has a mistake in him, which he needs to work on.
  3. I’m eagerly awaiting the next one, but I have no idea when 6om is! ????
  4. This is tough as our youth players haven’t been great. The only name I’ve got is a young lad who was on the soccer AM skills school doing tricks and who I saw playing for Stamford a couple of times, and that’s Nathan Fox as I know he was was from Leicester. I think we had him on the bench a couple of times.
  5. Wrexham don’t really play young players though @CliftonMagpie apart from Barnett, O’Connor and occasionally Cleworth. I think most of their first team are 28 years old plus, so Fletcher has been brought in to do a job for a season and will replace Dalby.
  6. Any media coverage is positive when most of it is focussed on West Bridgford, and we seem to be getting quite a bit nowadays (except from the local toilet paper), but I don’t really understand how it actually made the TV as it’s more of a YouTube thing.
  7. Tom Williams has highlighted the goal on his Twitter feed and it definitely looks like Crowley needs to shoulder just as much blame. Wrong pass choice and wrong place to press immediately afterwards. This opened up the field for Harvie, and forced the choice onto Rawlo as what to do.
  8. Mullin played half an hour yesterday, so it will be basically a case of him & one of Palmer, Fletcher, Dalby. I think Wrexham fans have lost confidence in Palmer, so would expect Fletcher to play alongside Mullin.
  9. Certainly would, but I don’t think Keeley is blessed with pace either. Can see two centre halves being on the shopping list for January, any other recruitment will only be because of long term injuries. I like Rawlo, he’s a no nonsense, old fashioned centre half and I would rather have him up against a strong centre forward than any of our other defenders. The issue is his lack of pace. Yesterday, he should have seen that nobody was moving towards Harvie and gone himself, he had to gamble really and hope that he could either make the tackle or force a misdirected pass.
  10. If it was a home game, he might have gone with Randall, but with it being away, against a decent MK side he may take the more cautious option of starting Chicksen, because he is a better defender. Or he may even surprise us and play Nemane/TAR on the left and Austin on the right. We are not lacking in options, but if I was a betting man, I’d say Chicksen, as it is the least disruptive to the lineup.
  11. Can you give plenty of notice as to when you’re posting up the clues @CliftonMagpie? @Fan of Big Tonelives on here and gets about 12 guesses in before any of us have seen it! ????
  12. Hopefully, Notts are seeing something in this that I’m not. A right back (when we already have 3 players that can play in that position) who can fill in as a CB, it’s a strange choice. I have horrible memories of a few years ago, when all the fans knew that Notts needed some decent Centre Backs but we never signed any, RCB is the one area of the pitch that we need a really good signing for, but we seem to be ignoring it and instead sticking a square peg there as a make do and mend solution. That being said, I hope the new lad proves me wrong and has a belting loan period.
  13. This was my original thinking as to why the bids were turned down. His value to the side is probably of more value than a transfer fee. I did ask the question on Twitter if he has any pace and the reply I’ve had is that he isn’t very quick, more of a solid defensive unit. I’m not sure exactly how that fits our style of play as we need a tall, solid, but mobile CB.
  14. But does he have any pace? I reckon that ship has now sailed. We made two bids for him, both turned down, so we have probably said OK we will leave it. Drogheda have now put it out there in the hope that someone else comes in for him before he gets a free for January. Don’t the owners of Walsall also own Drogheda? Would have thought they would get first option on him if available.
  15. Possibly a meniscus tear if it’s the knee which would mean he’ll be out for a few weeks, hopefully not but can still see him being out for a while and I doubt we will know until the next press conference. Not sure where Morias is at the moment with his fitness but noted he did not make the squad yesterday or the previous game.
  16. We won’t really know where we stand until around a dozen games or so and after a few weeks of the window being shut. Personally, I’m more than happy knowing that we will at least be better than several teams this season so shouldn’t go down, but I still feel we are seriously lacking at the back in the quality needed to challenge for promotion. Baj is out for the season, Brindley and Baldwin are injury prone, refs will cotton onto Cameron’s Duffy dives and Rawlo is being caught out for his lack of pace. Tipton has become the Scarlet Pimpernel of the squad and Mahovo has been loaned out. This week will hopefully provide a few answers to this issue and the club will bring in a couple of players.
  17. Crowley for me as well, I’m actually the opposite to @Chrison this and thought he was better and more involved in the first half than second! - 1 off Elite’s scores for Brindley for stopping his covering run and not trying to make a challenge for their first goal. -1.5 for Rawlo’s part in their first goal and for playing 3 attackers onside for their second.
  18. Terrible first goal to concede, rubbish pass from Nemane, Rawlo just gave up and I have no idea what Brindley was doing, he ran back and could have cut Rose off, but he just stopped for some reason and said β€œthere you go, have all the time in the world to line up your shot at the near post”! Second goal was another shocker, competed for a ball we didn’t need to and Rawlo was sat around 10 yards behind the rest of the defence playing 3 attackers onside! Attacking wise, I thought we looked really good, Nemane and Crowley linked up really well in the first half and gave Grimsby’s left hand side nightmares. JJ was quality second half. Johnny B played really well until being forced off and Macca ran his socks off (still don’t know how he put that chance over the bar). Going forward, we were great, but thought we were terrible at the back again, and totally baffled by Stone constantly booting it long to their centre halves in the first half. I get really frustrated at times as we just don’t get tight enough when the opposition have the ball, just close them down! Just need a couple of quality & vocal centre halves now to play alongside Cameron and I think we will definitely make the playoffs, no centre halves will mean a bottom half finish.
  19. Thanks @Fan of Big Tone, we most certainly will enjoy it! Hope you get to yours as well next year, it’s an amazing experience. We’ve already booked for next year. ????️
  20. Off on a cruise around the Western Med @Fan of Big Tone. Fly to Palma, then off to Barcelona, Corsica, Rome, Pompeii and Sicily. Can’t wait but just want nice calm seas.
  21. Out of interest, has there been a press conference this week? Nothing has been posted up anywhere from what I have found.
  22. It’s awful news as I could see him getting used a lot in midfield this season rather than a back four stand in. I hope he comes back stronger and I also hope the club stands by him and gives him the chance to earn a new contract when he comes back as his deal expires at the end of the season.
  23. Haircut in the morning, then off to watch Notts. Sunday is a house tidy and packing for holiday day, so not a lot of time for anything else.
  24. Seriously hope that we have learnt from the first two games and stop making the stupid mistakes we have been doing. Would like the side to be: Stone Tipton Rawlinson Cameron TAR Chickson Palmer Bostock Jones McGoldrick Langstaff Rawlinson only because I cannot bear to watch Brindley get battered again and lack of other options at the moment. I would prefer Jones to be playing his more natural role than a wing back and it’s a toss up between Nemane and TAR. I personally prefer TAR, but it’s a close call.
  25. Peterborough fans are happy with the fee banded around and want to sell as they are not impressed at all with him. Totally lost interest when he was at Chesterfield and I’m pretty sure they were quite happy to get rid of him as well. Doesn’t appear to be anywhere near the player he was and is definitely no Mullin substitute.
