  1. I despair at some of the comments on Twitter saying that the manager isn’t good enough. The blokes had 2 games against top 3 clubs, what do they expect?!? Defensively we’re much better and the goals will come, it takes time to implement a new manager’s ideas. Even the Mansfield fans that I know think that Macca should have had a penalty. Goes to show that Nigel played a blinder by outing last week’s ref for poor decisions, obviously got into this refs head not to give us anything.
  2. May have been @KB1862, I might have the two clubs mixed up. It was at a club where they all talk funny anyway ????
  3. That account throws out so much junk that some of it will hit the mark, personally I think this one is nonsense as he had already gone to Motherwell. I have a pie in the sky theory about Macca @KB1862. Middlesbrough were after a striker and I reckon Macca’s agent warned him that they were serious. Macca in the past has made some rather disparaging remarks about them in his twitter account. Lo and behold, Macca suddenly deletes his twitter account. Bid comes in, Notts say no thanks, not enough. Now I may be putting 2&2 together and getting 22, but it does make you wonder.
  4. Sad news indeed. He was a great in the Rocky series and I also remember him in Predator. Got to admit that I absolutely loved him in Happy Gilmore as Chubbs Peterson, maybe a bit biased as it is one of my favourite films but he showed he could also do comedy. RIP Chubbs, loved your films. ⛳️????????????
  5. Mansfield will press our back 3 again, and with the horrible pitch state they have at the moment it will lead to us making mistakes. Fully expect Flint to play as I don’t think his shoulder was dislocated and he’s as hard as nails, so I’m guessing it will end 3-1 to them with us getting a late consolation goal. They’re a bigger and stronger side than us, and we don’t have the height up front to go long. I just can’t see us getting the win but would love to be proved wrong, and if we can’t do it now with all their injuries and suspensions then I don’t know when we can.
  6. Let’s hope he turns out better than Balint Bajner did. Anybody else noticed that Macca has deleted his twitter account?
  7. Just don’t get it. Another left footed midfielder to go with Bostock and Robertson, but one that’s made of glass, which isn’t great for a defensive midfielder. I wish him well and hope he turns us into playoff final certs. Turning into a bit of a poor window now, not one signing that has made us think that they’ll improve the side. Hopefully Warner will be the one, but we won’t know until he’s played. I’m hoping they all prove me wrong, but personally I would have rather seen two experienced players come in than the four we currently have brought in. One question has crossed my mind. IF Colkett turns out to be a revelation and gets us to the playoff final, and if we play Crewe at Wembley, will he be allowed to play???
  8. Plane was nice and tidy, thanks @Fan of Big Tone ????. Nice to see the weather is holding up well, we only went for a few days as off to Morocco in May, but we loved it (especially the strawberry daiquiri’s). Funny as the most alcoholic drink we think we had was a giant rum & raisin ice cream with an actual shot of rum over the top from one of the bars on the front. Back to reality now, work, rain and cold!!!
  9. No idea of the standard of the superliga but it must be fairly decent as Viborg have played West Ham twice this season and “only” lost 3-0 & 3-1, plus they beat Copenhagen who are often the champions league. The guys not prolific, 1 goal in 13 appearances so far this season, but no idea as to how many as a sub. We need another striker and he looks different to anybody else in the squad, so probably worth a risk.
  10. Brindley has to go I’m afraid, the guy never seems to have any urgency to get back into position or to make any kind of block. Not a bad ball player, but his positional sense is terrible. This isn’t obviously based on yesterday’s game, but it looks like he’s up to his old tricks from the highlights I’ve seen and he has been guilty of this all season.
  11. First time I’ve watched it, looks like the players only intent was to foul Jodi, and the speed and direction of foul risked his safety so red card for me. Apparently the ref was appalling throughout, so nobody should be surprised it wasn’t given. I applaud Cloughy for calling out the ref in his game, more managers should do it or else nothing will improve and the EFL will just keep sending them out to other matches and not address the problem.
  12. Just goes to show that despite the fact I played senior cricket to a decent level for over 25 years, I know nowt!!! ???? Great win to be fair, thanks to two men. Still think we would have lost if Kohli had played though.
  13. England are currently nowhere near good enough to compete with India, especially in India. Batting is too erratic and the bowling too much of a muchness. You need to be either a really good spinner or express quick and our bowlers (except sicknote Wood) are neither of those.
  14. We’re up in Matagorda, only come for a few days winter sun as the opportunity arose and it was cheap! Weather is beautiful at the moment, wall to wall sun and around 22-23 degrees. Met a chap yesterday who has been here for 3 weeks so far with another week to go, don’t think I could stay that long as I’m normally ready to come home after 5 days.
  15. Well, there’s a coincidence @Fan of Big Toneas I’m currently in Lanzarote at the moment! Will be flying back on Monday as well, so I’ll probably be getting on the plane you’re getting off of you’re flying from East Mids with Jet2. If you are, don’t make a mess!!! ????
  16. Couldn’t agree more @Chris, I would hope for one experienced centre half of proven standard. Signing potential is great, but he could end up like the Wolves lad and be no better than what we already have.
  17. My exercise nowadays consists of walking the dogs for a couple of miles in the morning and a game of golf most weekends. Hate gym work to be honest, did it a lot in my 20s but always found it boring, much preferred playing football, cricket and squash. My wife loves swimming, but I swim like someone drowning (probably because I nearly am) so avoid that like the plague!
  18. Good luck to the lad, and hopefully see a bit more of him over the next month or two. Hopefully next season (or even this if we can ever get Morias and Randall fit) comes around, we’ll help his development by loaning him out to a decent level team.
  19. All depends how deep the frost penetrated. Air temperature is different to ground temperature so I would expect a slow thaw throughout tomorrow. Hopefully it will be on but the ground staff are going to have to be busy and work through the night.
  20. My grandad used to always talk to me about Bobby Charlton and George Best, so growing up I also used to also be a Utd fan. Now, I take little interest in them but will watch them if they’re on the TV (don’t have posh telly).
  21. Like it, and glad it’s him. Steep learning curve for him as he now has to adapt to running a full time football club, but he clearly has talent. His aims are now different, from getting a small club to survive in a league to one that wants to play higher. I’ve no doubt he is going to be a success, as we don’t have any Billy big b******s in our squad that he would need to get onside like at other clubs. Now sign some defenders!
  22. Not one to blow my own trumpet, but Fozzy knows ????????
  23. Crikey, talk about naming the impossible! As a kid I would probably agree with you @Robbie, Goodies was probably the TV program I never missed. I would probably have to say Allo Allo (the 1980’s ones) is my all time favourite though, brilliant writing and acting and constant laugh out loud moments. Running it a close second would be Fawlty Towers. I don’t think any of the shows mentioned so far would get made today, people are way too sensitive to allow anything that pokes fun at others to be shown.
  24. From what I have since read/watched, he looks like a bit of a flapper! That’s all we need with our quality defending under the high ball! Sending Brooks out on loan again looks like the coaching team obviously don’t think he is better than either Stone or Slocombe. All depends on the level they send him out on loan to, but I don’t hold out much hope of him ever being number 1.
  25. I’m truly whelmed by this signing. I’ve seen nothing overly positive about him, a lot of negative though, but will take that with a pinch of salt and won’t pass judgement until I’ve seen him play. I suppose he will be OK as he can’t be any worse…. Can he???
