  1. Glad to be rid of him if I’m honest. Complete wasted signing and just could not be bothered to get himself fit enough to play. I did think that we would be lumbered with him for another year as couldn’t see anyone wanting him.
  2. One of the trialists was apparently a wingback released by Luton. I see from the team sheet that there were quite a number of players not present, so can only assume we will see them at the weekend as Alreton are one of the weakest sides we will be playing this pre season. No Stone or Randall named either, so looks like they will be frozen out in order to push them out of the door.
  3. I saw the original photo this morning on my timeline and it never clicked that he wasn’t a contracted player, good job I don’t need to be observant! Looks potentially a useful player, can play as a centre back, but apparently was a revelation at wing back for Bromley. Quite handy as it will give us options and fits the “versatile” tag in a player that we look for.
  4. I would go with the same @Robbie. Depending on who is on the pitch at the time I would assume it will be Scott or Didzy if they are playing, but JJ also showed at Wembley that he isn’t afraid to take one.
  5. Now need a minimum of 5 players. Two (minimum one) right footed centre backs, a right wing back, a box to box midfielder and a punt on a young, quick, energetic striker. Squad is paper thin at the moment and we proved last season that it was a mistake to go into the season with such a small squad as we burnt out all our players by Christmas.
  6. I didn’t rate him but he was young and raw when I watched him, he just does not seem to have the physical attributes needed for league 2, but it may help him being with a club two divisions higher. Best of luck to him, I hope he becomes an immense player as that will mean we get a nice windfall sometime in the future.
  7. We all knew that Macca would be in demand this summer and most thought at the end of last season that he had played his last game for us. I think people are feeling disappointed because of the false hope given to us after making him captain a few weeks ago, which hastened Cameron’s departure from the club. I think there is a little bit of panic in the eyes of Notts fans as we have seen five players leave in the last few days, even though only one would have been classed as a first XI starter this season. Notts need to settle the fans nerves with a couple of signings in the next few days and all will be well again.
  8. Not for me, I think he is too quiet and I would like him to concentrate on his main job of making us tick. I would be looking at either one of the defenders or we may yet be bringing in a player to do the job.
  9. Poor timing by the club if true but personally i do feel it’s good business to sell now and I can understand the fee as he is unproven at the level. If he is a success, I suspect the add ons to be substantial and I would expect a sell on clause to be included. I doubt he will be successful as it is a whole different level against far superior defenders, and I hope I’m wrong but I can see him only getting a dozen or so goals. I’m now more bothered about the holes opening up in our squad that need filling fast.
  10. I think it is pretty sad @liampiewhen people on social media constantly spout off by saying ‘don’t follow me if you vote for xxxx’. All they are doing is narrowing their thought process by surrounding themselves with the same mindset. They then become sheep, following each others lead and think everyone else is the problem and not what they themselves are becoming.
  11. I look at the post @Robbie and notice that only 16% are opposed to it. 30% fall into the don’t know category. The only one on that list I’m definitely opposed to is online voting as it is far too open to abuse and hackers. I would also get rid of the postal vote system for all but the elderly and sick, even though I am registered for it. My wife set it up years ago, I actually miss going to the polling station (don’t know why, I think all of the parties are hopeless and not worth voting for).
  12. The fact that only 1 in 5 of the electorate voted for them means all of their policies will be scrutinised and he will have to appease the masses if he wants to remain after 5 years. The electorate has become very volatile. And don’t forget that the parties left wing will hate the centre ground it is occupying and try to drag it back towards them. You need to take a closer look at them as they have little or no real world experience for the roles they are in. Just like the Tories, who had a serious military professional in Wallace and replaced him with the clueless Shapps in defence, Labour have stuck a journalist in the post. Home Secretary? Politics and economics student. Health Secretary? A student unionist and charity worker. Business Secretary? A politics student, never run a business in his life. A government made up of politics students and lawyers rather than business professionals. Thought every government had to have one, that’s why Lammy has got a position.
  13. We are one of the few countries left that don’t have PR and it is well overdue. Having a coalition keeps parties honest and does away with them being able to roughshod their policies through just by weight of numbers. It is long overdue. Although Labour have a huge majority, it is not really a strong government @Fan of Big Tone, with only 20% of the electoral vote they are massively indebted to the Lib Dem’s, Greens and especially Reform for the seats they have. They have five years to prove themselves and looking at how their front bench is shaping up, they’re going to need a lot of luck as they don’t have a lot of real world experience for the roles they are in.
  14. One thing you will eventually learn, don’t vote for a party thinking they will make your life a lot better as you will end up disappointed. You’re basically voting for the party that you hope will make it less rubbish.
  15. Really don’t like it as it has far too much black, I don’t want to look like a referee from the back. The only bit I quite like is the white collar, the stripes look like the colours run. But then I am more of a traditionalist and like the simple black and white stripes…
  16. Thing is though @Chris, with Saka we would again be shoehorning a player into an unnatural position and he will be found wanting against better sides. Our main issue is Southgate’s negative tactics, we haven’t got the players to play the football he wants and he is unable to adapt to another style. Just stop picking the same 10 players, it is not working! Sooner he’s gone the better.
  17. Southgate has to sort the left hand side of the pitch out, he’s either got to play Shaw with Foden, or Trippier with Gordon. Fully expect us to be beat by the Swiss as they’re a decent unit, whereas we’re just stumbling along with a totally unbalanced team. Still think Grealish have been taken. At least we’ll get more money into the club by having another game at The Nest.
  18. Would prefer a tall box to box midfielder who is good in the air, rather than just an attacking one. We have plenty of players who can play that role, but we’ve lacked the former for a while.
  19. Expect three more at most to be signed, an RCB(seriously short if Platt is to play in the centre where he prefers) another wing back and a central midfielder. These could all be dependent on moving on the three players listed though. Morias will be loaned out, along with a couple of the kids and maybe Chicksen. Any other signings will depend on departures. Langstaff could probably be off but can only see us selling for the money we want, and I would not be surprised to see Cameron leave, but would hope he stays and fights for his place.
  20. Personally I’m not that fussed he’s gone there, sounds like he is left footed and we now have Bedeau and Cameron on the left, it’s the right side we need to concentrate on now. If we have signed four or five quality starting XI players by the beginning of July I think we will be well placed. There will still be two months of the window left in order to finalise the squad, but some will depend on Rawlo, Stone and the day tripping shopper finding clubs.
  21. Surprised he got a league 1 club, I thought he would have been heading back to the National League for a longer contract. I remember Luke saying in his interviews that he is now a right unit with all the weights he has been doing. Will be interesting to see how he gets on.
  22. It’s a shame that he did not want to stay and prove himself, but we don’t know the details of the contract offered apart from it being short term, and at the end of the day, you have to look after yourself and if somebody has come in with a decent contract offer, then I don’t blame him and wish him well. It does mean we now have to find another player to fill the gap left, so not sure whether that will be another defender or (hopefully) a midfielder.
  23. Anything that means I don’t have to read twitter nonsense from former celebrities still trying to stay relevant is fine by me. The must be some political sites for people to get their fix from without infesting a football site with it?
  24. Just need to sign a goalkeeper for him to coach now
