  1. I gave up on MOTD years ago, it’s now 70% waffle and 30% football. Much preferred the days when Jimmy Hill was a sole presenter so all we got was extended match highlights of two or three games. Same with the Big Match on ITV, football coverage was a lot simpler and so much better, now it’s a case of just listening to analysis and watching a few very brief highlights.
  2. 14 points from the past 13 games, scoring only 11 goals, sorry to say that we are not in a good position. Inverted wingbacks do not work with league 2 standard players. Jatta is being starved of service because we are obsessed with keeping the ball but doing nothing with it and Notts fans are basically pinning all our hopes now on JJ coming back and hitting the ground running. Crowley comes back and is played out of position, Abbott is moved out of position to accommodate a player playing out of position That’s four players played out of position in the game, when they could have all been played in position and been more effective, that is sheer madness!
  3. There has to be a tipping point when you just have to accept that this coach cannot motivate the team to play. With the players he has had available since being at Notts, a 34% win record is unacceptable. A coach more obsessed with possession than end product, constantly trying to make inverted wingbacks work and trying to make league 2 defenders play like Beckenbauer. Practically the strongest lineup (minus JJ) we can put out and we play like that. Totally unacceptable.
  4. Nailed it @DangerousSausage, why replace a perfectly good and hardly used stadium with something completely new, unless you’re feeding your own ego. Government subsidies are obviously paying him well. No matter how many steak bakes you offer me, I’ll not be going to it.
  5. Issue we’re going to have is the length of time it will take these players to get back up to full match fitness and also the heavy workload that those left have had to endure as they are also now picking up injuries. I hope we can stay in touch as January’s fixtures look very favourable but our form of 10 points from the last 9 games suggests we’re going to slip away again. The next 3 are massive games now, we simply must get 7 points as we then have to go to MK who are now flying after a horrible start.
  6. Current form table, not a great read. Thing to note is that Saturday’s opponents are currently doing better than I realised.
  7. You have very wise parents @Blake
  8. They haven’t turned it down as such, they are a little stretched media team wise, but will monitor the situation. Basically, they’re waiting for it to become more popular before making the leap.
  9. Definitely need another wing back, to play oppositie JJ when he’s back, but Notts will be naive not to recruit another striker/attacking midfielder option. Two players in January is all we need now, been a long time since we could say that.
  10. It’s not bad at the moment, I’ve only had one raging lefty appear on my timeline so far and she was doing my head in, but since I blocked Carol Vorderman it’s been a lot better! Notts chat has been very civil so far.
  11. Agree with most that have voted. Abbott was on a different level today, the lad is getting better and better and has become a shoo-in for selection.
  12. Woke at 4AM (I’m at that age) to find around 4 inch of snow had settled, since then it has stopped snowing and has already thawed a little. Dogs won’t be happy as it will make their favourite walk impassable.
  13. Working all week, really need to retire!
  14. Always prefer the sloe gin flavoured ones nowadays, although last year I bought some from Fortnums, and although they were nice flavoured and a deep filled pie, I was a little disappointed as expected more. Will try the M&S ones this year for Christmas, although I have already had some of the Tesco’s Finest ones and they were quite nice.
  15. Made his debut today and started. Some of their fans reckon he was MOTM (voted sponsors MOTM) and was all over the pitch in the 2nd half after taking half an hour or so to settle in. Kiddy fans are already talking about trying to keep him until the end of the season, so it looks like we may finally have a real player coming through the ranks.
  16. When the cards are stacked against you, it’s always going to be an uphill struggle. Penalty was a joke decision whilst their first goal just proved the lack of pace in our side. Missing Jones, Crowley, Didzy and Jatta from the starting XI is just too much for any side to cope with, all four would probably walk into most teams in this division. It’s all about picking up as many points as possible at the moment and hopefully stay in contention until we get everyone back.
  17. Very happy with this move, Kiddy are currently in second so if he can get regular game time with them, then he is not that far away from our 1st XI. Hoping he really kicks on from here, it seems a long time since we had a young player come through the ranks and make an impact.
  18. Which bright spark thought it would be a good idea to have the Gills game brought forward to 12:30?!? What time will fans need to leave Nottingham in order to make it in time, especially those on the supporters coaches. I’m not against 12:30 kickoffs, but at least think of the fans when scheduling and ensure they have no more than a couple of hours of travel time.
  19. Those comments are a bit harsh from Stal as our side was really young apart from a sprinkling of senior players. Really happy for Cerwyn to come back and get his first goal of the season, hopefully this will be the kick start he needs to get himself back on track. Ironic that after last years debacle in the competition, we put up a decent showing this season but it’s still not enough to get through. Swings and roundabouts but could have done with getting through and having a couple more competitive games for our squad players.
  20. Disappointing that this has surfaced, obviously somebody thought it would be funny to release it and just goes to show that if anything is being pointed at you, be very careful with what you say! I always liked David, he’s a local lad who used to run the line for the Wheatsheaf in Southwell as young kid, whilst his uncle Mick was manager at the time. He’s a pretty good cricketer as well, but always wanted to be a ref from memory. Not sure how this can be resolved though as surely Liverpool would never tolerate him reffing another one of their games and it’s a real shame as most football fans will probably agree entirely with his thoughts.
  21. Would think he will definitely want to play in it, I know I would. It will mean he misses the Crewe game, which isn’t ideal, especially with our current injury problems.
  22. We can, but I think we are still 3 to 4 players short. Definitely need another winger/wing back, that is a given. Would like another striker with pace, and/or another attacking midfielder. Finally, I’d like to see another keeper brought in as backup to Bass. Goals have dried up a fair bit since JJ became injured, so really grateful that the defence is really starting to gel.
  23. Independent and Financial Regulator to be appointed. Never allow a football club to be bought and the debt placed on the club (e.g. UTD). Fairer distribution of monies throughout the leagues and scale the money paid to the Premier League so that the clubs finishing lower down the league receive a larger slice of the revenue to help close the gap. Set a wage cap. Reinstate all cup replays, but allow Premier league clubs to carry a larger named squad that they could then afford if a wage cap was in place. Dock league points for fielding weakened sides in the cups. Remove all U21 sides from the BSM trophy.
  24. Ye gods, anything but that!
