  1. 14 was the total I heard. To be honest, the total now is irrelevant...the fact remains that MC has realised that things aren't quite as easy as he may have thought and regardless of points, Notts as a club needs a summer off to dust itself down and sort some players and staff who can change the culture and general professionalism at the club..Reports of players wanting out ? so whats their thought process ? I'll go to a club who will coast me along and embrace me for my quality? behave...regardless of where you are ...you need to work..hard...be professional..do your job...be mentally tough...something that a number of Notts players have struggled with on a basic level...couple that with the ability to perform at (even) this level has resulted in a squad that managers , even MC (for the disciples), cant turn into results. Too many 'professionals' that think they are better than they are ..the league position doesn't lie. Will MC be there next year? who knows..his record with this squad is poor ...there is no getting away from that ..and no amount of honest interviews pre, or post match will change that but personally I don't think another managerial change helps anyone. The lack of interviews from MC is a concern though......
  2. @notts-joe Sorry Joe, If you think that wasn't a red card then I'd maybe swap ML for the WWE......silly kick out and a straight red every day of the week
  3. at least my hat was safe ........
  4. A nice one I got on my holidays ! Clearly frustrated once again after the Barnet 'cave in' and said he would fling in the kids , but seemed to soften his stance a bit in his magpie player interview pre-cambridge. Like most folk he expects effort as a minimum and obviously is scratching his head when it doesnt come...or leaves quickly !
  5. I think the issue has been the collective mental strength of them all, and the fact that some of the players I'm afraid are just not good enough for Notts. Too many average players appear to have been signed previously and its been reflected all season in the league position. Ability isnt just about talent, its about being able to adapt and be mentally tough in games , whether you are in front or behind and Notts this season have always looked unable to do either of those things very well. Will the reserves play on saturday? doubt it ...maybe some slight changes but MC has done everything he can publicly to try and give them a rocket and it hasnt made one blind bit of difference. If MC stays then his new players need to be mentally tough first and foremost because the culture in this squad needs to change sharpish because they need to hit the ground running on day 1 of next season.
  6. If MC puts a 'reserve' team out on Saturday I'll eat my hat
  7. Reached his points target? 8 points out of a possible 30 is a target which secures a job? I'm sure the owner would have asked for something a bit more stretching than 8 points surely?
  8. The most basic of defending errors at all of the goals ... Very poor
  9. All very legitimate in content Joe if you are of the opinion that Stanley was 'dropped'. Hopefully he gets back to being the influencial player that the fans believe he is
  10. Aborah is one 'new' face in the starting X1 but I can't imagine there will be wholesale change to the starting line up even under MC but I think , especially away from home, they will need to play an extra man in midfield to accommodate Aborah
  11. I've been down south to watch a few teams over the years and have never seen the team I went to see get beat ...honest ! Please...PLEASE PLEASE!!! let that run remain intact on Saturday
  12. Loach will remain in goal IMO No wholesale changes and Milsom took a knock and probably needed the minutes on the pitch so Noble will probably come in to midfield Loach Atkinson Hollis Hewitt Adams Banton Noble Thompson Burke Stead Murray 1-1 or 2-1 Notts......got to pick up soon and I'll be there so it'll be fine ;o)
  13. @Modern Fan 1862 well we both have our thoughts on it and I respect your opinion and we shall see over the next few days I imagine
  14. @Modern Fan 1862 He said tonight in his interview that Aborah's 'position' was confirmed in emails from his agent. Fullarton didn't answer directly before, because he didnt want to throw the player under a bus and thought his attitude to playing would change ( again in his interview) If his situation re: playing games and being committed, changes then he needs to be fit so the club can play him in the reserves...if he refused that then surely he is in breach of contract?
  15. @Modern Fan 1862 and you think Aborah, even although he has done this before , will tell fans he doesnt want to be there? no chance Listen , you can call him a clown and say he's lying but I think thats incredibly disrespectful...and if they have emails from his agent to that effect then I'm afraid Aborah is bang out of order. I've said right from day one there is no reason why he would be left out .....this explains it in my view ...you can choose to believe Aborah...we all have our opinion
  16. @Modern Fan 1862 You dont blame a player for taking wages , money that you pay to the club , and yet saying he didnt sign for Notts but for Moniz?? Listen I know you are no fan of the new manager but surely you have to see that he has protected Aborah here and tried to get him back on board...at a time when he was getting huge criticism for not playing him? Surely his harshest critic has to give him some credit for having some integrity? Notts County FC is most important ..not players who aren't interested...but still want paid ...I cant believe you would disagree with that
  17. I'm sure Aborah will have to say something but the story was out apparently before kick off on Twitter? NEP?
  18. @weymouthPIE A very balanced and well put review of the game...progress, but still really disappointed about the result , however, feeling positive about Tuesday and , especially Saturday, as I will be flying down to Nottingham to see the Bristol Rovers game with my friend...be happy to catch up with some of you and buy you a pint
  19. yeah as much as I wanted to look at positives from last night ...the highlights suggested it wasn't as close as 3-2 , however, being the eternal optimist, I'm hoping for a positive ... Notts really need to score first but my worry is the middle of midfield...seemed to get over run last night ...Is Aborah the answer to that? not convinced he is ...but they certainly need to be stronger in the middle for me
  20. ooooft ...@Riverleeno doesnt feel like it to be honest ..but to get back after 3-0 is something but still gutted about that
  21. @Super_Danny_Allsopp hey, you may be right lol time will tell
  22. Hey, its the easy option I guess. Its a shame all round I guess but ask yourself why a manager would not involve , at all, one of the better players?? doesnt make sense eh?
  23. @Modern Fan 1862 The truth will out . Stanley has told the club , after Moniz was sacked that he doesn't want to be at the club. He reiterated this to the new boss. JF and the staff have protected him up to this point as they wanted him to be involved,be professional and be part of the new set up. Its bizarre that the manager has actually been protecting him and yet he (JF) has been vilified for actually having some standards and not wanting to openly criticise a player but also not involve someone who isnt being professional. The paying Notts fans deserve much more from one of their players...hey, dont take my word for it. I'm sure CS will get to the bottom of it along with the other journos. Ask yourself the question...if a players who's wages you pay said he didn't want to be there , at your club, what would you say? you'd say 'on your bike then pal'...well, Aborah is doing exactly that ...and whats worse? He's actually blaming the current regime and saying they dont 'like him'? shameful
  24. @tarquinbeech form is one thing I know but 7/2 for a team thats won three away from 4 ? oooft thats decent value I never bet on teams I'm following so it'll be interesting to see how that pans out !
  25. It'll be magpie player for me tonight and another 90+ minutes of Colin Slater ...I only hope he has more time tonight to discuss whats actually happening on the pitch though. Accrington appear to be short in numbers but , that said, Notts still have good players which a lot of folk (not just Notts fans) forget. The manager appears to be looking at the players who he feels he can rely on to do a job for him, and hey, if you or I were in that position, particularly as a new post holder....then we would probably do the same. I think folk are being too pessimistic about this fixture, and whilst Accrington's form is good, I see no reason why Notts can't get a result tonight. The home performances are what they are at the moment and will change , of that I have no doubt...but in order that some fans can keep their sanity, then focus on 3 wins out of 4 away ....a good return in anyones book in any division...the football will come ...the performances will come ....and I'll tell you what...I'll take a poor 0-1 right now come 21:35 Team selection wise, I wouldn't expect wholesale change tonight although if Mackenzie is back to normal I would expect to see him back
