New manager
Chris and Alex seem well prepared for any circumstance and I won`t be surprised if they already have a narrowed down shortlist which include some slightly unknown managers fitting their vision of open and dominating football.

Match Discussion: Game 26 - Super White Army (A)
Tranmere looked solid. Quick and technical players. Surprised about their league position, but they are climbing rapidly. We looked tired today which is understandable. LW did the right thing picking the same starting eleven, but that just highlights the necessity for new signings. One is already done (Robertson), but we should aim for two more signings.

Match Discussion: Game 25 - The Shrimps (H)
It will be a tougher game today but I`m confident in our team`s ability. We look way more dominant in possession in our last two fixtures. It will be interesting to see if there will be any changes and how that would effect the team. COYP!

Great win today. No injuries. Perfect Boxing Day.

Match Discussion: Game 24 - Rovers (H)
Agreed. I also think Gosling will be moving on. It just hasn`t worked out. Bostock will probably pair up with Austin today again.

I predict a solid win if our performance against Stockport continues. I was so impressed. However we need to be more precise in the final third.

Match Discussion: Game 23 - The Hatters (A)
Great first half performance wise. Confident on the ball. Precise build ups. Bostock bossing midfield. Interesting to see Langstaff dropping deep. COYP!

Match Discussion: Game 23 - The Hatters (A)
We were horrible playing from behind last game. I don`t think this is the game to suddenly change that. Hopefully there will be a slightly different approach to this game or it might get ugly.

Future Prospects: Recruitment, Defensive Fixes, and Trust in Luke Williams
The club`s vision in terms of how the team should play is clear: we want attractive and dominating possession-oriented football. They appointed LW, and he has delivered brilliantly. The issue is that the football style is only suited for a handful of the squad. The team is extremely vulnerable to injuries on key players due to one simple reason: the differences between the injured player and the backup player are massive, and becomes even bigger due to the chosen style of play. There is a huge mismatch between LW`s preferred tactical approach and the team`s ability when key players are out. With all due respect, Austin/JOB/Gosling simply can`t replace a Matty Palmer or a John Bostock. The midfield suddently goes from dominating to inferior. This becomes even clearer in the tactical setup LW has implemented, which to be fair, is quite complex for a League Two club. And I love him for that. However, we can`t "blame" everything on injuries. There has to be some sort of flexibility from LW, at least some tweaks in key situations. We haven`t been able to use the midfield properly after Matty`s injury, even after Bostock`s return. Should there be a larger emphasis on going long in stressed situations, even if Langstaff will lose 90 % of the headers? Then we would at least be able to fight for the second and third ball and establish play between our best players, which are upfront. Should JJ be more included in the built up in central areas? Just look how the last game changed when he was more included. Hopefully we can achieve a draw against Stockport and get a double win against Doncaster and Morecambe before New Year. I`m forever optimistic!

Notts are playing with no intention. Harrogate are just waiting to punish mistakes, which have worked very well for them.

Match Discussion: Game 20 - The Red Devils (H)
I wouldn`t underestimate Crawley Town, but I reckon this will be a win for Notts.

Scouting Dossier : Wimbledon v Notts
There are scenarios a tall and physical striker would make perfect sense, especially when Notts are playing oppositions deep. We have fantastic crossers from both sides in Jodi Jones and Crowley. I just can´t see Notts prioritizing that position ahead of a new goalkeeper, centre back and midfielder. I also doubt that the owners are willing to "splash the cash" for Al-Hamadi - he looked like he´s got it all with great abilities and he´s only 21 years old. Two more years left on his contract. Pricey..

Match Discussion: Game 19 - The Wombles (A)
Disappointing loss today. Wimbledon performed much better than expected, especially in the first half. Arguably the best organized pressing defense we have played this season. They also successfully exploited our shaky defense - what a player they have in 21 year old Iranian international Al-Hamadi. Let´s bounce back with 3 points against Crawley Town on Tuesday.

Defying Speculation: Luke Williams’ Commitment to Notts County
Great manager. Great man. Notts are lucky to have him, and he's lucky to have Notts.

Welcome Morton Johansen
Hello guys, Thank you for your warm welcome. So how did I end up here on PON? As you may know, Norwegians are crazy about English football, especially the Premier League. I'm no exception. However, my interest for the Premier League is fading. I love quality fotball and you might even argue that the level of the Premier League has never been better. But.... It's heavily watered down. Clubs are sold to sheiks and seem to splash enormous amount of money on mediocre players. Players are rolling around acting and crying even after the slightest touch. And if a player is unfortunate making a mistake it´s spread across social media within minutes leading to a massive slaughterhouse of abusing and threatening words. In 2021 I came across an article published on a Norwegian website with the translated title "Notts County are coming back". I´m 30 years old, so my knowledge about the club was limited to the knowledge of my father, who has followed English football from the 80´s and onwards. After reading the article I was very intrigued. What a rollercoaster of a history, especially in terms of ownership. Then I started watching interviews and press conferences of the Reedtz brothers. This is how a club should be run. Low profile and down to earth owners who aim to run the club in a self-sufficient way. Excellent transfer policy, which again hits the spot with names like McGoldrick and Crowley. Appointing managers that fits the long term vision. LW is doing a great job. But what I love the most is that the players are working for each other and the fans. I now which to connect more with the supporters. This is a good start. Tomorrow is a new match. My one year old daughter will wear her full kit and we will all be cheering for this wonderful football club. Take care, Morten
