  1. Your Thursday Weather 4cast.
  2. @piedestrian Things haven't been the same since Jason Turner. Of course, we will never know, but maybe, things could have been entirely different player wise at Notts if he was still around. Maybe some of the players that left would still be here & the communication between club & fans would have been better too.
  3. It was a dramatic night of Cup football on Wednesday evening when Grimsby Town of League 2 humbled arguably the richest club in the World, in a pulsating penalty shootout ending to their EFL Cup tie with Manchester United. The Grimsby players held their nerve to win the shootout 12-11 after Man U had come back from being 2 down to draw 2-2 in normal time. Grimsby had already made a great start to their league 2 campaign by currently standing 4th in League 2 with three wins & two draws from five games played. Their win against mighty Man U will be remembered for ever by the Grimsby supporters & I'm sure it will set the club up well for the rest of the season. The atmosphere around the club will be electric & the confidence will be sky high. Players & supporters will be very happy & fully united. Lots of clubs do not give the cup competitions priority nowadays which is a surprise when you can see what a great result can do for a lower league club. When the FA Cup begins I would like to see Notts give that competition the up most priority because a good cup run can make a massive difference in lots of ways as well as a massive financial reward
  4. We are on a fixed tariff so it won't go up in our household for now. But I suppose we are only delaying the inevitable.

  9. For me I just want the Jatta business sorted out as soon as possible one way or the other. It's already got to the stage that Notts won't even get half his valuation of a year ago if he does leave. I don't blame the club for keeping their silence. Silence sometimes means that developments are going on behind the scenes. I'm sure we will get to know more in the coming days. Maybe in the pre Tranmere press conference.

  12. Great news for British Athletics. Morgan Lake is the first British Female Athlete to clear 2 m in the High Jump.
  13. We've been with Asda Opticians for over 20 years. You get excellent service and a good discount when you buy two sets of glasses. We've always got two sets just in case of a mishap. One for driving, one for general use
  14. I don't live in the same area as I did when I was in my childhood. Areas can be different in their own ways but there is a constant that seems to be missing between neighbourhoods of 60 years ago & now. As a boy I was brought up on pit estates where the tenants would be exclusively NCB employees. They were special neighbourhoods where everyone would know everyone else on the streets where we lived. When I was very young, before my Mum started work, the back door always seems to be open. A neighbour would knock on the door for a chinwag & the kettle would go on the stove for the proverbial cup of tea with a biscuit to go with it. My Mum would visit a neighbour in the same way too. This is something you never see nowadays. The sense of community just doesn't seem the same in this day and age. The back door is securely locked & I think that is the sign of the times no matter what neighbourhood you live in.
  15. The visit to the Dentist went ok. Just a check up & nothing untoward found so that's it hopefully for another six months.

  19. Very good point @canuckpie Every head Coach we have had have players they have preferred over others. I thought the Technical Board would stop that sort of thing happening.

  22. I hope the rumours aren't true @menzinho but if the player is unhappy it is probably the best solution for him to go. Unfortunately, it's so late in the transfer window that it may not be possible to replace him with a like for like 20 goal seasoned striker.
