  1. Ollie Palmer or Paul Mullin. I don't care where players come from. They are proven goalscorers who I would welcome if Notts could afford them. But unfortunately at this moment, Notts clearly can't or won't. We had a ready made proven goalscorer in David McGoldrick at the club, who hinted & hinted that he wanted to stay but Notts just let him go. For me, letting him go defied all logic after spending a considerable amount of money on a Hybrid, Pitch.

  7. It was a good interview & I do like Ollie's attitude. He's also natural born leader who has the ability to inspire & lead by example. I think that Ollie Norburn can play a big part for Notts this season. The centre of Midfield for Notts is an important & vital position that is important to cover the defence as well as initiating attacks. Notts have lots of cover in that area which I believe is a good thing. With players like Norburn, Palmer, Iorpenda, Hinchy, & Robertson, Notts can be assured of having lots of options in that area.
  8. A sad day for our Club & Football Condolences to his family, friends & those who knew him. RIP Steve Thompson.
  9. Keep going @Chris your doing ok for a rookie. It will get better.
  10. Hi & a big welcome from me @SoccerLord & welcome to our friendly PON community.
  11. Pre Tranmere interview by BBC Radio Nottingham, Martin Paterson reported that Jatta is available for selection for the Tranmere Match, & other injured players are close to being available for selection bar Platt. Listening to Martin I get the impression that there won't be any further incomings or outgoings before the transfer deadline on Monday.
  12. Wow @Dan You'd think that a modern Stadium would have special parking for coaches close to the ground in a bus park.

  18. @Wheelbarrow repair man I understand meeting a top six PL club in the 3rd Round, there will be an element of luck involved, & Notts have to get through two rounds before they can meet a PL club. I think the quicker these players can gel together & the quicker Paterson can identify his best starting eleven is dependant on more game time which the cup competitions can give him as well as the league games.
  19. I may be wrong but I assume the Doctor has been helping the long term injured to recover more quickly from their injuries. If he can do that it will be a positive development for the club. I don't think he can get the players to avoid being kicked off the pitch like Jodi was on Saturday. I think his job may be to manage how the club can improve the way they deal with injuries.
  20. I see your point @Wheelbarrow repair man The thing is, Grimsby are fourth in the league. They've had a big payday. They have been trending top on social media & they have been talked about throughout World Football. I don't hear anything about priorities from their fan base at the moment. They are celebrating a famous victory. They will be remembered for being the first tier four club to beat Man Utd in a Cup match in front of a packed blundell Park. The penalty shootout has had half a million views on U tube already. The way things are with Notts at the moment, a good cup run may be the highlight of the season unless we start getting the results. I think a an extra £200K + coming into the club from a plum FA Cup tie would be welcome.
  21. Tranmere have made a good start to the season & are unbeaten with 2 wins & 2 draws from their 4 matches so far. Tranmere are unbeaten in their last three home games against Notts. Tranmere will be a tough nut to crack on their home soil. They are known for their physicality & Notts have tended to struggle against physical opponents. We don't know whether Jatta will be fit & there is doubt over the fitness of Jodi Jones too. But Notts do have Matt Dennis who is in tremendous form at the moment, so hopefully Notts will be a threat to the Tranmere rearguard. Notts need to start putting some good results together & coming away from Tranmere with a win would build lots of confidence for the team going forward. I would be happy for Notts to avoid defeat & get a creditable draw. A clean sheet would be even better, but I'm sure there will be some goals in this match.
  22. I do wish Stuart & João lots of luck in the new appointments at York City. Stuart as Manager & João as Assistant Manager. I wouldn't be surprised if we didn't see a few Notts players end up at York now Stuart's been appointmented. It would be a big achievement for Stuart if he could guide York City back to League 2. They almost achieved it last season gaining an incredible 96 points & finishing second to Barnet, but they were defeated by Oldham in the Playoff semi finals.
