  1. I've got my 6 monthly visit to the Dentist tomorrow. Happy days.
  2. What's happened to the Bass cash?
  3. I don't think there is "frustration or exasperation"when it comes to those two. I'm sure they are going to be valuable assets for Notts this season on the flanks.
  4. I think this article from the BBC concentrating on a few sound bites, around the thoughts of Martin Paterson from the full post match interview were quite revealing. Paterson stressing that he was "unified with the club" but then stressing the need for reinforcements, & making his wishes public too, does make me think that maybe we won't see any more players recruited before the window closes. I believe we do need a new striker in to support Dennis even if Jatta doesn't leave. Paterson remarked that Dennis was running on empty during the last 20 minutes of the game on Saturday. We know that Dennis works so hard. What will he be like after 20 games if he doesn't get enough support? We saw how Jatta's effectiveness deminished as the season wore on, & he had Didzy in the side too. Maybe the club have news that the injured players, apart from Platt are close to coming back. It would give Notts a big boost if that was the case. And what of Mai Traoré? He hasn't been given much of an opportunity since he joined the club. If he becomes fit he should be given a chance to show Martin what he can do, or just loan him out. Then we have Scott Robertson & Lucas Ness, who when fit, could make a big difference to the side. Ness is regarded as our best defender so it tells me that the club might not be keen to return to the transfer market. I hope I'm wrong.
  5. He probably on decent money but it is a shame that he is not getting many minutes on the playing field. I'm sure the fans are Notts would have him back in an instant.
  6. @super_ram It was a strange game this round.
  7. BBC SportMartin Paterson: Notts County boss calls for squad streng...Notts County head coach Martin Paterson urges the club not to be blinkered and to reinforce a squad 'running on fumes'.
  8. Cal Roberts scored for Scunthorpe.
  9. @Fan of Big Tone I've used varifocals for over 10 years now. Once you get used to them they are fine. I always have a couple of pairs at a time. (I get a discount if I buy two). When driving HGVs I had an eye test every year, although now I've retired I go every two years now. I also have slow growing cataracts too.

  15. The poll has now closed. Thank you to the 63 members who voted. It was a close vote with two players , Matt Dennis & Matty Palmer, sharing the majority of the votes. I am pleased to announce that by a small majority Matt Dennis has been voted as the Pride of Nottingham's Man of the Match against Bromley.
  16. He has plenty of coaching qualifications, but this Head Coach job he's taken on at Morecambe is his first at senior level and he doesn't have first team League 2 experience at all. I wish him luck at Morecambe where he can get some National League Managerial experience. That's what he needs, then he needs to have some success. I hope he does.
  17. Cedwyn scored for South Shields today and they have now won five in a row.
  18. Ronan Hale's wikiHe does have a good goalscoring record.https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ronan_Hale
  19. I think Notts have great asset in Matt Dennis. It's not just the fact that he can score goals, he can create good opportunities for himself as well as putting away chances given to him by others. It's not just him scoring goals that impressed me about him either, he works so hard on the pitch creating space for others, & just doing the things that decent strikers do to bring others into the play. It was a shame about the two goals that Bromley scored, because the way the team played in the first half gives cause for encouragement. Hopefully as every match goes by the players will become much more comfortable together & the sloppy play at the back will diminish. I would still love to see three new players recruited. A goalkeeper, a playmaker & a striker.
  20. I do like some of the improvements that the owners have made, the infrastructure improvements to the stadium, such as the safe standing area. The Nest will become a money maker when it starts making a profit after the money spent to build it is paid for, same goes for the paddle courts. Whether the Nest and the paddle courts were necessary, I do think that they are popular & well used & attended., however, as far as the Hybrid pitch at ML is concerned, I do have reservations about its construction at this point in time. Wrexham didn't feel a need for one until they reached the Championship. A new Hybrid pitch is also being installed at the Highfields training area in a joint venture with the University of Nottingham. League 2 clubs are allowed to spend 50% of their turnover on player related expenditure, which includes wages, transfers, and agents' fees. If the club invests wisely in good quality players, that investment can pay dividends in several ways. The Club has a much better chance of achieving promotion & if they do, the players in turn will become more valuable. If the Club is doing well, the club will earn more revenue through the turnstiles. The club will also earn more TV revenue. The Club will also earn more in advertising & merchandise sales. So investing for success on the field of play does have a big payoff by swelling the financial coffers, which in turn increases the turnover & revenue that can be further used to invest more on even better players.
