  1. There has been a suggestion that some of the revenue from the players that have been sold has gone towards the running costs of the club. Running a professional football club nowadays doesn't come cheap. Some high brows were raised when the Club didn't raise season tickets and match tickets substantially like other clubs have done. I think that the Notts owners don't get enough credit from the fans for keeping those admission prices as low as possible, despite other Clubs raising them. The owners are trying to raise revenue in other ways, such as developing and selling players for profit & that's to their credit.
  2. It's traditional looking black and white striped shirt. I love it. It is absolutely awesome.

  8. End of the 3rd day's play. Hampshire are 367 for 6.
  9. £500K is relatively cheap nowadays for a striker that has scored 20 odd goals even in tier 4. Even the Reedtz brothers wouldn't accept that amount. £600K maybe.
  10. Hampshire resume the third day on 80 for 0.
  11. The problem with safe standing areas is that they are the same price as seating areas. Why can't they have safe standing areas without seats & at a lower price? The club could still control the number of people standing in that area
  12. Martin did say during his latest interview with Paul Mace that the Notts squad could look a little different by the time the season starts, with players coming in & players going in the opposite direction. Jatta is an important player for Notts, but at Notts every player has his price. Same goes for any other player at Notts too.
  13. Yes, those were the days, When I was travelling home from a match along Mansfield Road, @Fan of Big Tone there was a news agent where I would stop to pick a Football post up. Sometimes it had arrived, but on other occasions you had to wait a little while for the roll of papers to arrive. It still confuses me even now why they have never published a digital addition of the football post. I'm sure they'd be a market for it
  14. Weather 4cast for Thursday.
  15. Teams that have a slender lead always try to waste time by trying to slow the game down with all sorts of negative tactics. Some of those well known tactics include, feigning injury, committing lots of fouls to break up play, falling over at every opportunity, substituting players with just a minute or so to go, & taking the ball to the opponents corner flag to waste time. At the end of the day it worked in England's favour with the extra time that was played. You would think that teams would stop doing this, but it's been part of the game as long as I can remember, & I don't believe it will ever change

  17. I used to look forward to getting the Football post every Saturday evening, that used to have great coverage of Notts after every Saturday match. It was a great publication, a great read & had a great following. It was sad when it ceased publication in 1999. Is it really 26 years ago.
  18. In his interview with Paul Mace, Martin did reveal that he is still assessing a few players when deciding which eleven will be his best available. I do agree with @Fan of Big Tone that Notts will be more aggressive & tough tackling this season. I think that trait is required to fully compete with those physical teams in League 2.

  21. The last of the pre season friendly matches sees Notts host League one Cardiff City at Meadow Lane on Saturday 26th July, kick off 3pm. This will be another good test for Notts against League one opposition. The type of match that Martin Paterson will welcome. I think it will be an opportunity for Martin to play what he believes will be his strongest side available from his current 26 man squad
