Feeling good. A win for Notts today against a side that had the better of Notts twice last season.

By all accounts it appears that Jodi Jones was playing in the number ten role for Notts against Port Vale & he scored a goal too. If Jodi becomes a success in that role it would be a big bonus for Notts. Having a player that can play on each wing & in an attacking midfield role too gives Martin Paterson plenty of options.

@NottsCountyKev I agree that dropping the match programmes was a big mistake & the Notts media could do better, especially with their X account. Non league sides in Notts like AFC Mansfield & Worksop Town appear to have better coverage of matches & general info.

Great win by Notts today in a preseason friendly against a League one side. Should lift the spirits of everyone.

An encouraging win for Notts behind closed doors at Vale Park today. A good win against a side that Notts had trouble with last season when losing home & away to them by the odd goal. Nice to see Jones & Jatta on the score sheet, Jatta coming on as a substitute in the 2nd half & getting two goals, one being a penalty The first eleven selected today could very well be the starting eleven for the first league match of the season against Newport, if we don't see any more additions in the next two weeks.

I don't believe there is a need to panic. We've seen enough of it on social media, in particular Twitter. The Club is in a good financial state compared to what we have known in the past. The Club has appointed a Head Coach who has a good vision for the Club & has already notified the fan base that he is looking to get three or more players to strengthen the squad. He is backed by his new coaching team & supported by a new Head of Football. The owners are clearly demonstrating that they are ambitious & are looking for Notts to challenge for honours this season. Notts already have 7 new players in the squad compared to last season & by any standards that is a significant number. Off the field, the owners have been spending money to improve the ML infrastructure, & invest in the training facilities. It's easy to talk about the negatives, but for me the positives at Notts, totally outweigh any negatives. We begin the season with lots of promise.
