  4. @Cliftonpie It appears Jatta has been given a 3 match suspension in addition to the 3 match suspension for the straight red card. He's missed one match, being the 2nd playoff leg against Wimbledon. So it looks like he will miss the first 5 matches of the new season.
  5. I do hope that this appointment will improve the Notts academy players chances of graduating to the first team. We do have some academy players that have shown plenty of promise, so it would be big to have a player get a regular place in the first 11. I agree. All important academy news such as important announcements should be on the official Notts site. Match fixtures & results should be on the Notts academy site. Fixtures, match reporting and results are not reported consistently. This needs to change I think.
  6. I agree that Jatta won't be sold during this transfer window. I think that the owners have already built the team around him to a certain extent, & with Didzy going, if Jatta was sold, it would weaken the Notts attack in a big way. I also think that his value may have come down since last Xmas when speculation about him being transferred was rife. I'm sure the owners would like to see him perform as he did at the beginning of last season & if he did that his value would rise again.
  7. Good evening. It's been a lovely warm day again here. The temperature is rising & the weathe looks fair for the weekend. Spent some time in the garden again just doing the usual garden maintenance. Plan to get up early tomorrow to cut the lawn & afterwards will be watering the young plants.
  8. And David McGoldrick is in the top six too.
  9. Not bad for Jatta's first full season in the EFL.
  10. I agree that Macca & Cedwyn could have been a good striking partnership for Notts if given the opportunity.. Notts tried to convert Cedwin to an attacking midfielder rather than put him alongside Macca, but it just didn't happen unfortunately. Would be great to see Macca back at the Lane one day. You can get success on the cheap, but the vast majority of Clubs realise that you have to invest in the best players for that level to get success.
  11. @OoooooTommy Good point. It's an important announcement & should get the widest coverage

  13. At this point if Luke came back I would welcome it. It would lift the fan base for sure & get the Club buzzing.

  19. Hi all, it's been another lovely day today here in Mansfield. Looks like it's going to be a warm night. Spent some time in the garden today watering the newly planted plants, followed by the customary weeding. The new plants seem to be doing well. Plan to get up early and cut the grass tomorrow before it gets too hot.
  20. I remember him. He did well for us in his loan spell. He had pace and power & he gave a good impression. He joined the club on loan from Dec 2021 till the end of the season appearing 23 times for the Magpies and scoring one goal. He was initially on loan for just one month but because he impressed his loan period was extended to the end of that 21/22 season.
  21. @NiftyNick There's no info about anyone leaving. Dan Leivers is Academy Manager. Nimesh is Head of Coaching development within the Academy management team.
  22. This is an interesting appointment by Notts that will strengthen the Notts academy. I suppose that this appointment fits with the Notts intention to reorganise the Football management structure at the club. Here's a more detailed look at his career so far via Google. "Nimesh Patel is a football coach and educator". "He has extensive experience coaching at various levels, including the Leicestershire & Rutland County FA and Coventry City Football Club". "Head of Football and Futsal at the University of Leicester: Patel is responsible for coaching and managing both first teams and overseeing the entire program for men's football and futsal. FA Coach Developer: He is involved in developing coaches within the football system. Leicestershire & Rutland County FA: Patel has held several roles, including U18 County Squad Manager and Social Inclusion Officer. Coventry City Football Club: He has worked as an Academy Coach. Early Career: He began his coaching journey after college, pursuing qualifications and starting with the FA Level One at a young age. Focus on Youth Development: Patel's career reflects a strong focus on developing young players and fostering their growth in the sport".
