Bad light has brought an end to the day prematurely. Somerset have had the better day of it. They finish the day on 338 for 4

Another transfer in to be excited about. Jayden Luker gained a very good reputation during his loan spell with Grimsby. Looks like Notts have acquired two players today in positions that Notts were keen to fill. Players that they believe will strengthen the squad. I'm really pleased to see these two additions today. If Notts can bring in another striker the Club and the fans will be rocking.

I'm very pleased with this signing. Keanan gave us evidence when he came on as a substitute against Cardiff, that he could be a big asset for Notts on the left wing. He can also play as a wingback or in an attacking midfield position. He is 26 years old & has experience of playing at a higher level, so his signature is a coup for Notts. Notts Director of Football, Roberto Gagliardi, said that they were very pleased to secure Keanan’s services, having had the chance to work closely with him during his trial period. Keanan becomes the ninth player to join Notts this summer. Hopefully, Keanan won't be the only player to be signed by Notts before the transfer window closes.

No luck for the Notts bowlers in the afternoon session. At tea Somerset are 227 for 3.

Result of the B team game today.Wycombe 2 Notts B 0

Another player signs on again for Notts Women.

The Lionesses had a brilliant open top parade on the Mall this morning. Thousands came out to welcome them home and congratulate them on their European Championship win.

Today's Notts B Team Line up away to Wycombe Wanderers.Jarvis, Hinchy, Reynolds, Kouyhar & Sanderson feature.

At Lunch Somerset are 90 for 3 wickets.

Thanks for the information about the Vikings @Wheelbarrow repair man . It's great to learn that Schools are teaching about the Viking origins, their way of life, social hierarchy, & culture. A key aspect of the curriculum is the Viking invasion & settlement in England, including the Danelaw region. School Children also learn about how the Vikings impacted Anglo-Saxon society, including changes in place names & the development of England.

Adam is a good commentator & it's great to have a Notts fan doing this very important job. Good luck for the season Adam

Somerset now 3 down. 25 for 3. 3 wickets for Abbas

They've taken two now @gtownjohnno I bet Notts are pleased they didn't bat first.

As a league 2 club this will be relevant to Notts.👇 League Two clubs can spend a maximum of 50% of their relevant turnover on player-related expenditure, which includes wages and transfer fees. Relevent turnover includes income from various sources like matchday sales, TV revenue, and advertising, but excludes certain costs like dividends. This is part of the EFL's Financial Fair Play regulations. To increase turnover & as a result be able to put more revenue into players wages & transfers, Notts could invite significant investment through a third party investor by using the investor's capital for player acquisitions, stadium improvements, commercial ventures, while also potentially benefiting from the investor's network & expertise. This could lead to increased revenue from player sales, matchday income, & sponsorship deals.

Notts have won the toss & chosen to field first. Notts 11 below 👇

A crunch match awaits for second placed Notts against third placed Somerset. The match starts at 11am today. Notts are just one point behind Surrey who stand in first place in the County Championship Table.

I think the club has to be in a sustainable place financially for several reasons. The Club has spent a substantial amount of money on the Ground infrastructure including the Hybrid SIS pitch. They've spent money converting a Warehouse into the Nest. They are improving the training facilities & are reportedly laying a Hybrid SIS pitch in conjunction with Nottingham University.

This practice is perfectly legal & Everton are the third PL club to do it following Chelsea & Aston Villa, but is it really an ethical thing to be allowed to do? Today we have Morcambe with a real risk of them going out of business while this sort of transaction by Everton is allowed. Will the new football administrator look at all of these so called rules that allow this sort of thing or will it even be part of his remit.
