On my shortlist for Man of the Match today was Matty Platt, Lewis Macari (when he came on), George Abbott, & Alassana Jatta. In my opinion George Abbott was head and shoulders above any other Notts player, so he's my Man of the Match.

I agree @Fan of Big Tone about beating Wimbledon. Notts have avoided Chesterfield, in the semi's & Salford, Grimsby & Colchester didn't make it, & any one of them could have been tough. I'm heartened by the fact that Austin got some minutes today. I hope Maynard has been saving him because he could be big for Notts in the playoffs. I think he passed to Jatta for our only goal today. I would play him instead of Whittaker behind Didzy & Jatta. I'd also prefer Jarvis over Jones to start & have Jodi on the bench on Saturday.

A dissapointing end to Notts regular season with a defeat to League 2 Champions Doncaster, who thoroughly deserved their victory today. Congratulations to them. Notts now go into the playoffs where they will play Wimbledon at ML in the first leg of the semi final next Saturday, 10th May, kick off 8pm. I have chosen the first 11 plus 1 player off the substitutes bench for you to choose your PON Man of the Match from. Those players are:- Bass, Bedeau, Platt, McDonald, Jones, Abbott, Palmer, Gordon, Whittaker, Grant, Jatta, Macari.

Three dangerous teams failed to make the playoffs on the last day. Salford, Grimsby Colchester.

It was always going to be a very small chance of getting automatic promotion today. Walsall & Bradford both won today. I think Notts were just saving themselves for the playoffs. Didzy didn't start the game & never came on later. The substitutes just seemed to be getting minutes on the pitch rather than coming on to actually change the game. Hopefully Notts will be able to field their strongest team when they play Wimbledon in the playoff semi final.

Bradford scored in the sixth minute of injury time to snatch automatic promotion from Walsall. In the playoffs Chesterfield v Walsall Notts v Wimbledon.

It was a beautiful start to the morning with lots of sunshine. Completed a three mile walk & then some work in the garden. Been glued to the TV this afternoon. The day seems to be getting better and better. The icing on the cake would be a win by Notts tomorrow & automatic promotion. The way things are going we can't rule anything out.
