I'm pleased that the owners decided to speak to the local press about the appointment of Martin Paterson & organisational changes they have made within the Club. The questions were tough & Chris answered then all very well in my opinion. It appears that Martin Paterson was their first choice & Chris also confirmed that João Alves will continue as a member of the coaching staff. Chris was questioned about the new Technical Board & he is confident that it will succeed in improving performance. He had questions about Stuart Maynard, but I think it's time to look forward rather than back. The owners are clearly focused in getting this club promoted. I am satisfied that the owners have chosen a good coaching team to take this club forward next season, & the new Technical Board will assist that team every step of the way.

Looks like Sampdoria have been very fortunate to avoid relegation with their opponents getting food poisoning, another being docked points, then Sampdoria being awarded the win by the authorities in the relegation playoff. Even though Sampdoria survived relegation to the third tier of Italian football, it is still a big low for a side that saw much success in the early 1990s, & had great players playing for them.

I take it that the vast majority of the Technical Board meetings will not include the Owners. The first meeting may be where the owners explain what the remit of the Technical Board will be & what the owners hope it will achieve. From time to time they may well attend again, however, they will get updates from the Director of Football anyway. The improvement by the players on the pitch, match results & where the club stands in League two, will demonstrate to the owners if the Technical Board is making a difference or not.
