  15. Good Morning. A reasonable morning with some sun, but it's been a chilly night with the current temperature of just 4 Deg. Did you know that Voyager 1 that was launched in Sept1977 is still going strong. It is traveling away from earth at approx 10 miles per sec, almost a million miles a day, & is approx 15.3 billion miles away from earth NASA are still in contact with the probe & recently fired up it's thrusters to enable it to continue to communicate with Earth. Just putting distances into context Voyager 1, at it's present speed would take 77,000 years to reach the nearest star, Alpha Centauri, the closest star system in the solar system. Alpha Centauri is 4.37 light years from Earth. Here follows is an up to date article on Voyager 1. NASA Engineers Activate Thrusters On Voyager 1 Spacecraft, Extending Its Mission Further Beyond Our Solar System » TwistedSifter TWISTEDSIFTER.COM Let’s hope whatever finds that disk is friendly!
