  1. Good morning. It's a sunny morning here with just small amounts of cloud, but it's a chilly morning. Going to the Doctors this morning for my flu jab. Then I've got to change my left front tyre. Looks like I have a puncture. Thank goodness I have a small tyre compressor I can attach to my 12 volt connection. Must have a nail in the tyre or something like that. I'll see if it can be repaired first as it's a relatively new tyre. Not the best way to start a Saturday morning, but things can only get better

  5. I listened to the interview intently, & one of the things I've learned is that Notts will go direct & use the long ball tactic when it is necessary. I believe that is very good news & demonstrates that Stuart will change tactics & style of play during a match when it is necessary. Notts will not be predictable as they have been over the last few years & the opposition won't be able to settle into just countering Notts playing from the back. For me this demonstrates more than ever that Stuart Maynard was a brilliant pick by the owners, & Notts are benefitting from what he has brought to the Club.
  6. Nice interview again Chris getting the perspective of an opposition fan. I agree that it is going to be a close game with maybe the odd goal deciding it. I hope that Notts will get that deciding goal. Vale like to play football so I think that will suit Notts. Most teams will play the high press against Notts & Vale will be no exception. I do think that Notts can change their tactics & style if necessary under Maynard, which is a good advantage to have over the opposition. I think the score will be a win for Notts by the odd goal. 2:1 Notts.
  7. This will be a tough match for Notts as Peterborough are one of the top four sides in the division with excellent players. Notts have much improved this season & if Notts can play at their best, it should be a closer game. The key will be not to concede early & try to frustate the posh & try to nick a goal on the break.
  8. Preparing for next season. Nottinghamshire have made a new signing. Pace Bowler, Conor McKerr from Surrey on a three year contract.
  9. A Hurricane maybe heading out way. But by the time it teaches us it will be a Storm. Wonder if it will be named.
  10. Gordon was a great capture for Notts when they managed to sign him. He will be an important part of the squad as the season progresses. With Jodi being injured Kellan's roll in the team will gain added significance. It is great that he is enjoying his football down at the lane. His presence in the team is another demonstration that the Notts squad is strong. This will bode well for Notts, with their ability to rotate players when they need to be rested or if squad members become injured.

  14. Update Jodi Jones. Out till at least January 25. Curtis Edwards. Out till at least January 25. Lucas Ness. Possibly available in a few weeks. Conor Grant. Swollen knee. Injury being assessed. David McGoldrick. Sore hamstrings due to tiredness.
  15. I'm giving a shout out for Sam Austin who has been putting in some excellent performances this season. Sam will play wherever he is placed in the side by Stuart, & he always does a steady job for the side no matter where he plays. He'll also chip in with a few goals, & get a number of assists to his name during the season. I believe Sam is an integral part of the squad & his versatility is going to be invaluable to Notts as the season goes on. Thoughts?
  16. What a great experience for the TNS players & fans. They should be proud of their performance. TNS are giving Welsh football & their league valuable publicity.
  17. Sorry to read your wife & yourself have been unwell @Fan of Big Tone hope you are both feeling better soon. It's a lovely morning here. Plenty of sunshine. The ground is still very wet though. I'm itching to get my lawn cut. It will probably be the last cut before winter, unless we get an Indian summer for a few days. No other plans really apart from the Garden work.

  19. It was a dissapointing end to last season, no one can deny that, but to give Stuart some slack he was basically stuck with the squad that he had until season's end. But during that time I'm sure that Stuart & his coaching team identified the areas where the weaknesses were & the players that needed to be released & retained. I would have thought that Stuart & his coaching staff would have great input on the type of players they wanted to fill the gaps where the team were weak. I think he got what he wanted, but then he had to gel them together into a team which I believe he's done well up to date. I also think that he has ensured that Notts can introduce different styles of play when it's necessary. For example, this side now has flair going forward, but can defend with grit & determination to grind out a result if required. We have seen examples of this this season. A side looking to be successful has to be adaptable to the conditions & the opposition. Let's hope that the great form can continue & this squad can only get better as the season progresses.
  20. @Blake Just looked on Google and they can be dangerous to humans if they feel threatened or fearful. That's why I suppose they want to catch it if possible.
  21. @Blake There are 14 levels with Grand Master being the 14th & top level.
