  1. Here's Annie with the Weather for the weekend.
  2. I applaud those who have set up courses for people who have been identified as those who chant obscene things like this, but it is sad when these courses have to be set up at all. These people who chant these obscene things are devoid of common sense, morals or decency, & if caught, shouldn't get the opportunity to go to a football match for a very long time if ever.
  3. The footballing authorities might not admit it, but Football seems to be going the way of following American football where they have "special teams" Examples are substitutions being made before extra time to put on a goalkeeper who is good at saving penalties and players who are good at taking penalties. It worked well for Notts in the playoff final???? Do we really miss them old FA Cup replays?. Not really.
  4. Well it's been a busy day, clearing out our second bedroom which we used as a storage room. It's surprising how much stuff you collect over the years that you don't need, but cannot be sold on. I hadn't visited the recycling centre for a few years, but it had a few dozen large skips with different labels on them for different material Finished up using about eight different skips with what I took today. The place was quite busy too. Looked a very thriving business, for the owner. Always knew there was a big difference between chipboard & Wood, but I was a little confused that they wanted panes of glass in the same skip as concrete and rouble????
  5. Moving into League one is a step up so it makes sense for clubs to recruit players that can compete in league.one I believe each league has three leagues in one, so if a club is ambitious, they have to recruit close to championship level players to be competing for a playoff space or better in league one. If Notts go up I expect them to do the same & recruit from Clubs that have been promoted from League one to the championship. Unfortunately, we are seeing players that get their club promoted, then are sold off or released, so they don't actually get to play in the higher league.
  6. Had the POEM (Peroral endoscopic myotomy) procedure about 4 years ago, where they go down your throat and basically cut the muscles back in the Oesophagus so the muscles can't close it, and so it permanently opens up your food pipe. Surgeon did a great job. The stitches dissolved after several days. Problem is your lower esophageal sphincter at the bottom of the Oesophagus is permanently open so you can't fully lie down when sleeping.. Like everything else you get used to the changes, just can't eat red meat, bread, cake, tomatoes, apple, oranges etc. White meat, chicken or fish is ok. You have your operation then a few hours later they make you have something to eat. That was tough. The condition can't be cured just managed. Love Salmon although it's got quite expensive lately. We used to buy a whole Salmon and the wife would debone it & cut into small sections
  7. Yes. It stops you eating eventually if not treated. They think is an auto immune disease that stops the muscles of the oesophagus working so the food isn't pushed down, eventually food gets stuck even soup and liquids without treatment.
  8. I do love every kind of vegetable, but have not eaten a lot of them in recent years. I particularly like mushy peas mixed up with my mashed potato with carrots, broccoli & cauliflower on the side with gravy. My favourite has always been stuffing, nowadays I have to have it soft, but it is still a big favourite of mine. As a boy there wasn't a lot of broccoli about so we really never had it. Due to my Acalasia condition I have to have my veggies mushy so that they go down easily to my stomach, so there are now lots of veg & salad & general food like red meat that I can't eat now. My mum used to make her own Jam, she could make all sorts of jams, strawberry & raspberry were my favourite. The Jam was real jam, not the jam you buy from the supermarket. I particularly like soups too. We have a blender that can convert set dinners into soups. Before I had my operation, a few years ago, I lived off soups because nothing else would go down.
  9. Your Thursday Morning Weather
  10. There's lots of chatter about Pep Guardiola being England Manager. In my opinion it would be an unmitigated disaster if he were appointed. The England Manager has to be home grown. The England Managers job is not just any old managers job. The person who holds the position is an important national figure.
  11. This game is going to be so exciting. MSV Duisburg is a German tier 4 club, so it should be a good match up for Notts. I hope that Stuart will play close to what he believes is his first 11 side for the first half at least. I would play Scott and Jatta together once again, but I think Stuart should focus on Notts's defence and midfield & the aim should be a clean sheet. I would like to see Robertson in midfield (if fit) too. In the last match the second half team was a little disjointed, so for this match I wouldn't change the team too much at once, and just make no more than half a dozen changes in the 2nd half. Hoping Notts can keep that unbeaten record going.
  12. I think that Jatta has put himself into contention to have the converted number nine shirt after the first three games of the season. He even looks like a number nine, and took his chances against Wealdstone like a number nine. Still an opportunity for Scott, First and Moria's to stake a claim, but that window is getting smaller.
