An interesting and well put together article. Nice to get a view and perspective from an opposition fan. I think that Tranmere will be up there hoping to get a playoff place. It will be a good test for Notts with it being the first match of the season, & being at their place too. Both teams will be looking for a strong start to the season, & it will be fascinating to see who comes out on top. I'm hoping of course that it is Notts that come away with a confidence boosting win, but the match will be a tricky one, & Tranmere must not be underestimated.

Positives 1. Nine new players have joined the club. 2.New Goalkeeper & four new centre backs to improve Notts defence. 3. Plenty of cover in central midfield & left, right wingback. 4. Jatta has had a great preseason. 5. Palmer & Scott will be available after injury. 6. On paper Notts should be tighter in defence & still a threat up front Negatives. 1. Big blow, Macca left. 2. The team has leaked goals in preseason which is concerning. 3. Notts haven't replaced Macca so only three senior strikers on the books. 4. Not sure if Scott & Palmer are up to full fitness yet. 5. I'm concerned that Nemane & Jones are good going forward but not good at defending.

@Wheelbarrow repair man The vast majority of online pundits don't think Notts are even going to make the playoffs this season. I wonder why? Maybe it's Macca going having something to do with it

@Wheelbarrow repair man the thing is, Macca was on the substitutes bench at the weekend against Southampton. Why would he be on the bench if he was injured? Something doesn't add up

That's very strange. Can't remember Notts mentioning that he had an injury that would impact his training & start of the season. In fact we saw Macca report for training several weeks ago with the other team members If he was injured, how did he pass his medical with flying colours?
