  1. Macca was just rated as five when he came on against Forest. He needs to be in the starting line up if he is going to impress.
  2. Your Wednesday Morning Weather
  3. In one word No. I think he has moved on. He will sink or swim where he is. He chose to leave Notts to further his career and the same goes for Stuart too. I do hope they both succeed but Notts will have moved on too, & being Notts, I am quite sure that the Reedtz brothers already have a shortlist ready & waiting to be put into action if circumstances dictate & Luke Williams won't be on that shortlist.
  4. I noticed that Notts haven't appointed a vice captain just yet, but noticed that David McGoldrick captained the side against Duisburg. Would Didzy make a good vice Captain,? Looks like he's in the frame
  5. I like to walk quite a lot to try to keep fit. Around Mansfield we do have lots of attractions that are very good for walkers We have the Majority Oak, just outside of Edwinstowe Rufford Park, Clumber Park, Sherwood Pines, all not far from where I live. Of course you don't need the parks to just take a stroll around.
  6. @Wheelbarrow repair man Trouble is nowadays, it is a squad game. Notts have brought in players themselves during this transfer window that will be squad players, unless they can prove that they deserve to be in the starting 11. It will be probably the same at Millwall. Macca has to prove himself, but 20 minutes isn't a good start for him. I was expecting him to play at least 45 minutes.
  7. @Wheelbarrow repair man don't get me wrong, I want very much for Stuart to succeed and I do feel with four more players Notts will have a squad strong enough to make a challenge this season. All I'm saying is that it is all on Stuart now, the honeymoon period is truly over
  8. @Wheelbarrow repair man I'm not sure that they see Macca as their number one striker at the moment. Just 20 minutes game time tonight against Forest tells me that others are in front of him in the pecking order. How many times have we seen a bigger club sign a lower league player with a good reputation only to stick him on the bench, then loan him out. I really do hope that doesn't happen to Macca.
  9. Welcome to our PON community @jake008 So pleased to have you onboard.
  10. I agree @Wheelbarrow repair man Stuart is responsible now. The recruiters have recruited, now it is up to the Head Coach to mould these players into a winning team. There are no excuses for Stuart now. He HAS to deliver and if the team has a poor start he will be under massive pressure that could prove terminal for him.
  11. @Wheelbarrow repair man You hit the nail on the head there. Playing their youngsters for a number of matches is going to get them noticed and will put up their value. There should be a rule of thumb that at least one senior academy player should be one of the seven on the bench. Reynolds & Sanderson are good enough to be on the bench right now, and if Notts don't get those four players they need to strengthen the squad, those two juniors will be needed for sure.
  12. @Wheelbarrow repair man We know Macca is a very good striker at league 2 level. He has to try to prove himself at Championship level. We have to remember that Macca had excellent players around him that could supply him with those opportunities to score, Jodi, Dan, Aaron, John, Didzy, & Ruben all played their part to set up Macca, & Macca did the rest. Will Macca get the supply he needs to impress at Millwall? The jury is out on that one.
  13. @Wheelbarrow repair man 1 think Notts should spend up to a third of Macca's transfer money on new players and the rest held back for the ground improvements, As you said, upgrade the toilets, washing facilities, and try to make those improvements to open up those covered up seats. If Notts can fill them it would be a good return on that investment.
  14. Notts certainly need to strengthen the playing squad even further. With just 21 senior professionals, Notts need another four good players to get the senior squad up to 25 plus the juniors. Notts will probably have to spend some money to get the players they need so close to the start of the season. If they have to spend a third of what they received for Macca, that will be good business. Not sure that Notts will go for another striker to replace Macca unless Morias goes. We still don't know how those long term injuries to Scott & Palmer may have affected them until we have seen them play in several matches I am slightly worried about the present size of the squad and I hope that Notts can rectify that situation quickly.
  15. So a 20 minute run out for Macca, Millwall scored a goal after Macca came on but lost 1:2. Hard to tell if Macca is going to get some regular playing time in his new team. Hope he won't be warming the subs bench match after match. Will the grass be greener for Macca at Millwall? We will have to see.
  16. Macca on for the last 20 minutes of the match against Forest. Let's see if he can make a difference for Millwall who are 0:2 down at the moment.
  17. Macca's Millwall are playing Forest in a preseason friendly in Spain tonight. Macca is not in Millwall's starting 11 but is one of their substitutes. Will keep an eye on his progress.
  18. So the Nottingham CC is offering to sell the Land that the City Ground stands on to Forest for £10 million. Notts should look into buying the freehold for the land that Meadow stands on from NCC if given the opportunity. Surely the land wouldn't cost so much anyway. Notts don't want to have to pay hundreds of thousands of pounds a year in lease charges, if they can own the land, even if they take out a loan to finance the buy.
  19. Looks like someone is taking Bradford City for a ride with that sort of money for a ploughed field of a pitch. They'd be better off buying the land where the stadium stands.
  20. Our old way of life will be gone forever': The tenant farmers targeted by solar developers https://news.sky.com/story/life-would-never-be-the-same-again-the-tenant-farmers-targeted-by-solar-developers-13073003 Complete utter madness going on with our farms while they are shutting down our last coal power station.
