  1. This week we say goodbye to two members of staff who are moving on to pastures new. Harry Triptree joined us back in 2022 and became a valued member of our Academy, having a big impact on the development of B Team players Lucien Mahovo, Ryley Reynolds and Charlie Gill. Aaron Large also leaves his post as Lead YDP Coach. His infectious character and dedication to his role will be missed around the building, but we wish him well in his new venture with the Steven Gerrard Academy.
  2. GOLD ALERT! OUR EVENTING TEAM WIN TEAM GBs FIRST ???? OF THE PARIS OLYMPICS.
  3. Now to get serious. The Premier League title race is going to reveal so many surprises. It will have you on the edge of your seats. The interest will be phenomenal. The revenue earned, staggering. Champions Manchester City Runners Up Arsenal Third Place Liverpool Fourth Place Chelsea Fifth Place Manchester United Sixth Place Tottenham Hotspur They all qualify for Europe. What a surprise. And so many surprises in the race to avoid the drop. Unfortunately, the promoted clubs go straight down again. Relegated Southampton, Ipswich Town and Leicester City Will be so gutted for them, but they have the compensation of the parachute payments. See you three back in 2026/27. FA Cup Manchester City who beat Chelsea in the final League Cup Manchester City who beat Arsenal in the final.
  4. Your Monday Morning Weather for 29th July.
  5. @Wheelbarrow repair man. According to Google Clubs in League Two are limited to a 22-man squad, although that number does not include goalkeepers or players who were under the age of 21 at the start of the calendar year. So Notts can still play players above the 22 allowed who were under 21 on 1st January. That's why it's important to have good juniors to come into the side like Sanderson & Reynolds.
  6. @Scotty @Wheelbarrow repair man In my playbook, if a player is worth £2.5 million you sell him for at least £2.5 million. Why would you sell a player for £750K if they are worth £2.5 million then hope to earn more if the player is sold on? Doesn't make a lot of sense to me but perhaps I'm reading it wrong. Notts may just as well have loaned Macca out to Millwall for a season, Millwall pay increased wages to him, & Millwall could have also paid Notts a fee for every goal he scored. If Millwall then wanted to buy him, pay Notts the £2.5 million, plus add ons for selling him on.
  7. @Wheelbarrow repair man It's not just about the first 11. Notts suffered last season due to lack of squad depth, & more importantly, lack of strength of squad depth. In modern football, it's important that players that come on to the field of play as a replacement are as good as the ones they are replacing, or are at the very least, capable of changing a game. The successful clubs do have players on the bench, that can do just that. Man City & Arsenal are prime examples. From what I've seen so far, I'm not convinced that Notts have that scenario just yet. Do you?

  9. I've seen some rumours on social media estimating around £5 to 6K for Macca, but could be more or less. Even so it's still a lot for League 2.
  10. @Wheelbarrow repair man Just a thought. Do you think that we saw the first £10K+ a week footballer in League 2 last season? I think you could easily have picked a player from Wrexham or Stockport that fitted that statistics.
  11. I think that the Baldwin & Brindley horror show of last season against Shrewsbury will be very hard to surpass. I won't post the link because it is still so embarrassing to watch.
  12. Well it's going to be one of those six guaranteed. In what order, that is up for debate. We may have to have a long protracted debate that may last a long time because to work out which one of the six will win the title is, OPEN TO DEBATE. Now let me put my thinking cap on and think this over very carefully. Man City have an inexhaustible amount of money at their disposal. They buy the best players, even if they don't play them, to prevent other teams from having them. After careful consideration I'll go for Man City, with either Arsenal or Chelsea for the runners up spot. Man U will be fourth. All will be back in the Champions League again for the umpteenth time so, their profit making for another season will be safe. They are all the way to the bank.
  13. Remember these goals were scored against Notts when we had possibly our best back three playing together. Maynard took off our best holding Midfielder, Robertson in the first half for a trialist. I'm not trying to be negative but we have to be beating teams like York City. Apparently we were playing tippy tappy football and passing back to Bass quite a lot. My other concern is Scott. Is he going to be the same player he was before his injury?. Notts are running out of friendly games and fast approaching the start of the season. For the next game Maynard needs to play his strongest side for most of the game in my opinion.
