  1. Yes @Fozzy I've seen this banded around on social media today. I hope it isn't true and even if it was it would be very hard to prove anyway. What we do know is the big dip in form, 7 defeats in 11 matches & Luke's inability to change things to try to turn things around. But it's all over now. We have to look forward not backwards. What's done is done.
  2. Luke wasn't Swansea's first choice either, but the whole saga is water under the bridge now. Luke's moved on and we move on too. I'm getting behind Jim and the lads now, for the next crucial match against Grimsby.
  3. According to reports it looks like Stockport are looking at Warner too.
  4. Good luck Luke.
  5. Notts in sixth place on 42 points 9 points behind Stockport in 1st place, 7 points behind 2nd place Mansfield & 3rd place Wrexham who both have one game in hand over us. Everything to play for going into the Grimsby game next Saturday.
  6. Mansfield have lost to Crewe today 0:1 at home, have now lost two games in the league this season. Barrow win. Notts are still in touch with the leaders after today's games 9 points behind top spot.
  7. I agree that what you say. Hopefully Dan will do better elsewhere. Agree. It didn't work out for him here. He's much better than what he showed here.
  8. It is reported Luke will be sitting on their bench this evening.
  9. I agree @menzinho. In the Reedtz brothers I trust. I'm sure they'll get the right Head Coach that fits Notts phylosophy of attacking football
  10. Yes @liampie it is dissapointing Notts couldn't persuade him to stay. Luke was visiblely upset when he talked about Jason Turner in his final interview for Notts. Jason's sudden passing affected us all so much & still does. His continued presence may have changed things, We will never know.
  11. Sad that Notts didn't do more to keep him on loan an extra year. I think we wouldn't have conceded as many goals as we have done to date if he had been here. But that is water under the bridge. I wish him well at Morecambe. Hope that we can sort out the goalkeeping problem soon.
  12. I agree @liampie Working families are struggling too and a £900 saving between two partners working is welcome. But everyone should have been included. I would have welcomed a 2% basic rate tax cut or an increase in the personal tax free allowance, and of course helping those on benefits too.
  13. I agree @liampie it probably became apparent in training that he didn't fit with the Notts system. I wish him well in his future endeavours. Him going opens up another place for the New Head Coach to work with.
  14. So National Insurance has been cut by 2% today for working people.Thats very nice for them, but Pensioners on State Pension with a small private or Company pension, don't benefit because they don't pay National Insurance even if they work. So all working Pensioners, & there's tens of thousands of them, don't get any tax cut today. In fact, pensioners tax burden is going up, not down. Pensions are taxed, so pensioners who work pay tax on every hour that they work because their tax free allowance is swallowed up by their Pension. Sorry for my gripe but that is the reality for millions of Pensioners like myself.
  15. Just a quiet weekend, taking down Xmas decorations. How Xmas has come and gone again.
  16. I agree @liampie I also believe that Jim O'Brien being appointed as interim Head Coach, is a good move to get us kick started again.
  17. Big opportunity for Jim to impress. I'm sure he has some ideas of his own, to stop the unacceptable number of goals being conceded. Now Luke has gone I'm sure the team will play their heart out for Jim if he is still in charge for the away trip to Grimsby. They will all want to prove a point and that is good for the immediate future
  18. When the new Head Coach comes in with his new team all of our players will be given a chance to impress the new gaffer, in training and on the pitch. The recent set of poor results under the previous coaching team could be put down to a lack of confidence. A new person at the helm will immediately give all the players a lift and by implementing new ideas, tactics, style of play and shape, it could immediately give some of our players a new lease of life, and help them to continue to challenge for a first team place. Of course we will get a fresh intake of players too, so this will increase competition for places. I'm confident that the New Head Coach will put an end to the poor set of results from the team and lift everyone's spirits for the final half of the season.
  19. So we know that Luke has gone and we wait for a new Head Coach to be appointed. A New Coach brings new ideas, new tactics, possible changes in shape, style of play & changes in the team. What would you like to see from a new Head Coach? Will all the players get a new lease of life or might we see changes in the starting 11?
  20. I just don't think Stone fitted in well for Luke's style of play. I don't see Stone as a good distributor for playing out from the back. Maybe a new coach may have new ideas and Stone may fit into that new system.
  21. I Agree @DangerousSausage I thought Luke was a fantastic Coach and has done wonders for this club which will never be forgotten, but I've been increasingly concerned about his stubbornness to carry on with the same tactics of playing out from the back when the defense is making the same mistakes every game and the total football concept. Don't get me wrong, I love our attractive football but sometimes you have to change tactics when playing away, to a more defensive approach, and when in doubt, kick it out. As you said, a new coach may have new ideas.such as Stopping us leaking goals like a sieve, & take a bit of pressure off our defense & Goalkeeper.
  22. @KB1862 I do agree on Stone & Slocombe, however I think Luke has to take some criticism for continuing to play open possession football, especially for away games, & not gone to a plan B by being more defensive minded to protect our back 3 & goalie. A new Coach may be more defensive minded. i would welcome that in away games.
  23. @liampie Luke became very emotional when he talked about his relationship with Jason Turner. Luke had nothing but good words to say about the club and his last words to a question to him about what advice he'd give to his successor and he replied by asking a new Head Coach to look after the people at Notts. That's leadership for you.
  24. @Chris agree, I can understand why he went when he did, a Championship club, better Salary, closer too home, chance to get Swansea to the playoffs, but could be a stretch. On the other side, he had lost 7 matches out of the latest 11 Notts played, so he weighing it up, it could have got worse and he'd have been less marketable. In the end, his going could work to our advantage & give us some impetus with a new coach, new players, & fresh tactics.
