  1. Stuart was appointed head coach and had to deal with a team that was leaking goals and having problems in defence. But to his credit, he has stuck with it and in the close season worked with the recruiters to bring in players that could compete at this level. The signs that all his work is paying off, was clear to see on Thursday night. We witnessed the best performance of the Notts team under Maynard and the football that was played was a joy to see. I'm so pleased for Stuart that this team looks like they may be going places. Time will tell, but there is certainly a buzz around the club at the moment.
  2. Macaulay comes on as substitute for the LAST 2 MINUTES of the Millwall game against Hull City. Still waiting for his first goal for the club. What a waste.
  3. Eight goals from his last eleven appearances for Notts. The early signs are good.
  4. Welcome to our PON community @Andystarscream
  5. Your Weather for Saturday. It will be breezy and cool for August.
  6. Curtis Edwards played very well against Grimsby. He was one of the three stand outs for Notts. I think the recruiters have done very well bringing him to Notts where our style of play looks like it suits him. He was calm on the ball, all over the pitch and never stopped running, He's going to be excellent in midfield for Notts & a perfect foil for Crowley. It's alright having good players but a good team needs good players to click together & I think we saw it in abundance against Grimsby. I believe our midfield is beginning to look very strong together. When Matty Palmer becomes fully fit it will get even stronger and well oiled too
  7. Football fans are the beating heart of every football club and the Notts fans are no different. Fan can & do influence football matches with their fervent support. When Meadow lane is rocking there is nothing in the Country to compare with it. Last night was one of those nights where the atmosphere was truely electric and second to none. I wasn't even there but I could feel it as I listened on the Radio.
  8. I think it is a very good idea & I'm very happy to support it.
  9. This was a fantastic performance all round by Notts. I am so pleased for Stuart Maynard too. It is one of the best displays I have seen for along time from Notts. Dan Crowley had a blinder, Jodi Jones was brilliant too. And don't forget Curtis Edwards, who never stopped running and was so calm on the ball. Kudos to our defensive unit too because Grimsby were dangerous on occasions, but the back line held firm, apart from one lapse from a set piece. I'm particularly pleased for Stuart Maynard because he inherited a side in poor form and now he has his own team after identifying the weaknesses & playing a big part in the recruitment to fix those weaknesses. Notts need to try to keep hold of Dan and Jodi because they will attract big interest after last nights display. Keep this side together, add a few more players and Notts could be going places this season.
  10. Attendance was 10,046 tonight. Not bad for a Thursday night with the Sky Cameras too. Updated League table
  11. Friday Morning Weather
  12. Someone on social media described Crowley's performance tonight as Masson esque which is a very big compliment indeed. I was privileged to watch Masson play & in some ways he does remind me of Masson, but I think Don was a bit more accomplished defensively. But even so, to be compared with the great Don is praise indeed.
  13. Tonight's four goals.
  14. For me, that is the best performance by Notts under Stuart Maynard. If Notts had scored eight tonight it wouldn't have been surprising. Dan Crowley ran the show tonight in front of the Sky Cameras. And Jodi Jones, what can you say about him? Both of these players are absolutely class & Notts have to try to hold onto them. Special mention for Edwards too. He was calm on the ball & he never stopped running. He was all over the pitch. His work tonight might have slipped under the radar, but he was another Notts player that shon tonight. Notts three up before half time, one for Jatta, Crowley & Jones in a great attacking first half Notts conceded again from a set piece in first half injury time. Something that needs to be worked on. Grimsby came out in the second half, guns blazing, determined to get back into the game but it was Notts who got the fourth with another Crowley goal. Crowley was so close to a hat trick later on which would have put the icing on the cake for him. Notts finished the game comfortably with the calming influence of Matty Palmer on for the last 20 minutes. There will be bigger tests for Notts this season, & they need to deal with set pieces & try to counter the breakaways but I'm so pleased tonight for the team & Stuart Maynard.
