  1. Agree @Ohh Tommy Johnson There will be less money around the football pyramid as foreign owners may be less willing to fund Clubs remaining in the domestic leagues ,& TV revenues will go down, but funnily enough, I think it would make for more exciting competition in the Premier League if the big six go. Would the Premier League try to make the competition a UK National Premier league to include clubs from Scotland & Northern Ireland such as Celtic, Rangers & Linfield? As far as televising the matches are concerned, I think probably Sky Sports & Discovery Sports would be attracted to televise the Super League, that would leave BBC & ITV to bid for the Premier League, EFL & Cup Competitions.
  2. @Dripsey3 & @Ohh Tommy Johnson If there were to be a Super League they would probably follow the same model as the NFL in the States with no promotion or relegation. Could be two leagues with an end of season playoff system with one overall winner to make more money. Just going a little of topic, As far as today is concerned I would like to see, all those who qualify for European Competition in England ineligible to play in the FA Cup & League Cup the season afterward. This would be positive development for all the other clubs in the Football pyramid. In addition, I would limit team changes to no more than 4 players to the starting 11 in Cup matches, to stop the big clubs devaluing the competitions.
  3. Ipswich 1 v Notts County 3. League Division 1 30th Jan 1982. A great win for Notts against a very strong Ipswich side. The Notts goals were scored by Gordon Mair, Brian Kilcline, & Paul Hooks.
  4. I very nice piece of commentary @ARLukomski I think it is vital for Clubs like Notts to have a good youth and development policy that can be a good source of revenue for the Club.
  5. Former Sub postmaster says lawyers have been paid £150 million in Post Office Scandal. https://www.independent.co.uk/tv/news/subpostmaster-post-office-sunak-scandal-b2474505.html
  6. Yes your right @Fozzy We were absolutely coasting it. Franz was man marking Bobby and when he went off it freed him up.West Germany bossed the midfield from then on and the rest is history. The 1970 World Cup was the best I've seen. Brazil was just something else
  7. Totally agree @KB1862 The Saudi Nation have an infinite amount of dollars to throw around. They behave like a child with a new toy. The concern for me is not just the Billions being put into paying players to go over there to Saudi, it's what the Oil rich Countries buying of Premier League clubs and the inexhaustible amounts of money these clubs have available is affecting our domestic game. And what's happening in the Premier League affects clubs throughout the football pyramid, which I believe is changing football for the worse. Killing competition and & thus making the elite clubs even richer.
  8. I first watched Franz play in the 1966 World Cup for West Germany and I remember him in the 1970 World Cup in Mexico too, when West Germany got their revenge over England in the Quarter final. He had an iconic Career as a player, and became famous as a International Manager for Germany too.He won a World Cup as a player and as a Coach. I believe he is up there with the likes of Pele as one of the all time great footballers. RIP Franz. The World of Football will miss you. Franz in action during 1966 World Cup against Switzerland and USSR.
  9. Yes @Ohh Tommy Johnson those mistakes have been very costly. I hope the New Head Coach will sort it.
  10. I agree @Ohh Tommy JohnsonWhy can't our defenders just kick it out of play or hoof it up field if in trouble. Kicking it out of play gives the side extra seconds to get themselves set again instead of thinking they have to play or pass themselves out of trouble in our last third. This has cost us dear. Then there's the silly mistakes too.
  11. Great News, the training boots are on.
  12. It's only to be expected that the team has been hugely effected by the tragic circumstances regarding the death of Adam Johnson & colleague during a match. They've actually been very unlucky to lose a few matches by the odd goal & also they've had to play so many matches to play catch up
  13. Blackpool 0 V 1 Notts County League Division 2 October 1973. Only goal of the match scored by Arthur Mann, remember him, featuring Don Masson, Kevin Randall & Eric Probert in the build up play. Notts finished the 1973/74 season in 10th place with a record of:- 15 wins, 13 draws & 14 defeats
  14. @DangerousSausage I think Phil would be a good choice too along with other possible contenders. It's refreshing that Notts always tend to keep these things under wraps. I'm sure lots of work is going on, as I write, to find, interview & appoint a new Head Coach, but Notts won't rush it. We will probably be taken by surprise once the Reedtz brothers' choice is presented to us.
  15. The postponed Match against Sutton United has been rearranged for Tues 27th February 7:45pm.
  16. Jim signed for Notts on this day 5 years ago. He's been such a loyal servant to Notts. Now he leads the team as interim Head Coach.
  17. This man is such an important player for us. When he got injured we were never the same. His return will take some time but it's great to see him back doing some fitness work.
  18. Some good news to report to begin the week.
  19. Great News for Panthers Ice Hockey Fans. Panthers off the bottom of the Elite League with a win on their travels after a record run of defeats.
  20. Oh my goodness @DangerousSausage I might escape relegation yet.????
  21. I agree @menzinho if we perform as well as we did in our first 26 games, win more than we lose with a few draws in there, we can still make the playoffs. If we can get another 12 wins & 2 draws from the last 22 matches that's doable. On that model we could afford to lose up to 8 matches & still qualify with 80 points.
