Game 11. Nottinghamshire v Surrey
Tea. Surrey are 203 for 2. Notts are toiling away, but the Surrey batsmen are in good form. Notts will be hoping for better luck after the new ball has been taken sometime during the final period of the day.

Stuart Maynard discusses transfers, squad depth, and Notts County's upcoming clash with Swindon Town in League Two
I'm really pleased with the players that the recruiters have managed to bring into the Club. I believe the squad has been strengthened by these signings too. I also believe that the Club made the right decision to release the players that they did apart from Macca of course. It is always sad to see so many players go, but they will always be remembered for what they did to get Notts back into the football league. I would like to see another striker come in before the transfer window closes & I pray that Jodi & Dan will stay As far as the match against Swindon is concerned, it's a good opportunity for Notts to get their first win of the season away. If Notts play as they did against Grimsby they should get that win. Keeping tight at the back is essential because Swindon cannot be underestimated. A 2:1 win would be great, a win & a clean sheet would be even better.

Automatic cars
@Blake Try to learn to drive in a manual first. If you learn to drive in an automatic you won't be able to drive a manual, once you passed in an automatic car Your licence will be restricted to automatics only.

Yeovil merchandise misspelling
The quality control at the manufacturer needs to get some glasses or retraining. But there are times we have seen road signs misspelt too. So mistakes like this don't surprise me anymore.

Carabao Cup. Is it time for Change?
The Carabao Cup (League Cup) used to be a Cup competition that was worth winning, but many teams now, especially in the early rounds, field weakened teams such as squad players or B team players. Is it time that the Carabao Cup format was changed? For example, those teams that qualify for Europe could be excluded & clubs from the National League could be included. By excluding those clubs playing in Europe, the competition would be equalled out somewhat, & including National league sides would give much needed revenue to those clubs in that league. Interest in the competition has waned so much that even supporters don't care much if their team is beaten in the early rounds. Does anyone have an alternative solution?

Good Morning Everyone. Some sunshine breaking through now after a cloudy start. A little bit windy here, but a pleasant 17 degrees. Breakfast then wife wants me to help clean down the walls paintwork and skirting boards. Time to get on my knees and do some scrubbing. Who said retirement was put your feet up time? Anyway, competed the task, wife is pleased, now time to sit down rest, & check out PON. Wife's preparing dinner, Will check out the new paper shredder this afternoon after dinner.

Automatic cars
I've had one automatic car in 51 years of driving. It was a BMW 316i Saloon Car I bought in 1995, & I had it for 4 years. It was a great Car. It was a little strange to begin with. Your left foot gets a little confused but you soon get used to it. My car had Park, Neutral, Drive, Reverse and gears One and Two that you could select manually. Many automatics had a total of three automatic gears then. So on my car if you wished you could select gear 1, drive off and select 2, then drive. I always used Drive mode unless I was in a traffic jam or rough road. Then I'd select 1 or 2. It's a personal choice how you use it. Some just use drive mode all the time. I went back to manual because I felt more in control, but the automatic served me well. I suppose automatics have moved on since 30 years ago, so I'm sure they've improved somewhat since I drove mine.

Game 11. Nottinghamshire v Surrey
Nottinghamshire need a good result to stave off the threat of relegation. They are currently third from bottom. It will be a tough match as Surrey are the table toppers and are favourites to win it. Surrey have won the toss and will bat first. Play begins at 11am. Notts team below????

- Nottm Forest Women v Notts County Women
Cup action comes to Grange Park Thursday when Notts County Women meet Nottm Forest Women in a local derby kick off 7:45pm.- More money than sense?
It's proving to be a nightmare of a move for Macca. I agree @liampie Stuart should get on the phone and save him from this nightmare- The Nest/Fan Zone: Update.
The Nest seems to be doing well again hosting Newcastle fans going to the Forest Newcastle match tonight. More money in the Notts coffers.- MAGnets link - Swindon Town
My choice is Brian Killer Kilcline He played for Notts of course then later in his career he made 17 appearances for Swindon in season 1994/95.- Paris Paralympic Games: Brit Watch
After British success in the Olympic games a few weeks ago, attention now turns to the Paris Paralympic Games. Team GB has had lots of success at past Paralympics & hopefully in Paris the team can do well again. There are 169 nations competing including a refugee team & a neutral NPA team. The games will include 549 events over 22 sports. Closing ceremony will be on the 8th September. This will be the thread to find news of British successes & to discuss them too. The opening ceremony begins tonight.- Is I Robot Much Closer to Reality?
@CliftonMagpie In one of the links I posted on this thread the commentator says not to get close to one of these humanoid Robots because it could be dangerous. That's not encouraging either. I think I would pass if there was ever an opportunity to buy one to be a helper around the house.- Something for Fan of Big Tone
You can't see me but I would have been behind Big Tone's upper back on the back step of the front terrace, my favourite place at the time. I always got in early to ensure I got my place in those days. We had just got promoted the previous year and hopes were high that we could make waves the following season. We just missed out coming third. No playoffs then.- Did You Know? (Football Related)
Did you Know that in the 1920s Notts County invented the offside trap; a defensive tactic designed to force the attacking team into an offside position? This was later adopted by other managers including Argentina’s Osvaldo Zubeldía (1965) and Arsenal’s George Graham (1986-95) and went on to bore the ass off football fans worldwide. I think the offside trap had it's zenith in the 70s, 80, & 90s. It doesn't seem to be used so much nowadays as it did then, but what Notts started in the 1920s became a big tactic all over the World, & is still used by teams to this day.
