  1. I wish Conor good luck in his Notts career. Notts have lots of cover in midfield so Conor is going to have to fight for a place. I don't know how him joining Notts will affect Reynolds & Sandersons chances of getting regular first team game time. I hope both of them can still figure in the side
  2. Notts under 18s home to Harrogate town at Clifton suffered a 3:4 loss. Must have been an entertaining game with Notts taking a 3:1 lead before Harrogate came back with three goals of their own.
  3. Looking forward to the match. Interested to see who Stuart will pick to start the game. We now have ten new players that need to gel together. It all depends on how & when they will do that. I am convinced that Notts will be much better in defence this season. We have the makings if an exciting striker partnership with Scott and Jatta. With the Notts midfield providing them with chances I'm hoping for a healthy number of goal too. A good start is essential if Notts are going to challenge for the playoffs. If Notts start well in the first half dozen games, we could witness a good season for Notts.
  4. I'm wondering if it will be a little while before we see Matt Palmer in the side? The arrival of Conor Grant gives Notts more options in midfield while Matt is getting back to full fitness. Conor is traveling with the team to Tranmere so I wonder if he will feature either in the starting 11 or on the bench?
  5. A fantastic well put together article & a great piece of work that has taken lots of research. It is great that PON members like myself now have the info from this great article to be able to understand how the season may play out. I cannot argue with your conclusions on how the season may end. MK Dons winning the championship is a good call that I wholeheartedly agree with and now the have Aaron Nemane to help them. I agree with you that Notts may just miss out this season. I had them finishing mid table around 10th but finishing 8th would be heartbreaking. I hope Notts make a good start and giv us Notts fans some hope that we may sneak into the playoffs, but I do feel it's a long shot this time. I hope I'm wrong And once again, thanks for this great article. Well done!!
  6. Really pleased that Stuart Maynard has shown the confidence in Cedwyn to hand him the number nine shirt His patience & determination to recover from a serious injury is admirable. Good luck to Cedwyn this season. I hope he scores plenty of goals for Notts, now he's out of the shadow of Macca.
  7. Looking forward to seeing Stuart Maynard's new team in action on Saturday. It is an exciting time with nine new players joining the squad & Scott & Palmer ready to join them. This squad is now Stuart Maynard's squad and I wish him and the team well for the coming season. I hope that Notts have a squad that can challenge for the playoffs at least, but so long as Notts are improving from last season I will be very happy We still have the most exciting attacking players in the division, so if our defence can improve, there is no reason why Notts cannot give themselves a chance of doing well this season. 8. Am in agreement with you both @Wheelbarrow repair man @Fan of Big Tone. Jim knows the club inside and out including the Junior side. His experience & knowledge of the club & players would have been invaluable. Looks like all the coaching positions were filled & restrictions on squad size probably prevented him from keeping his footballing registration & a possibility of him still being picked for the team if absolutely necessary. It does seem we've had some strange decisions from Notts during the last several weeks. However, it's a great move for Jim and I wish him well. I'm sure we'll see more of Jim as a Club Head Coach in the future.
  9. Jim has been appointed under 18 Head Coach at Sheffield United. Congratulations Jim.
  10. Your Friday Morning Weather.
  11. A nicely put together & interesting article that has taken lots of research. Well done Sir I think that MK Dons & Doncaster will be up there challenging for the title this season. I would also think that the teams that have come down from League 1 will be up there too. I don't think Chesterfield will feature this season. Just because the big three, Stockport, Wrexham & Mansfield have gone, I don't necessarily think that League 2 will be any easier for Notts to shine this season. As far as Notts is concerned, Macca leaving was a big blow, but hopefully Jatta, Scott, McGoldrick & our attacking midfielders will score enough goals, & along with the new defence, will help Notts to do better this season. The first ten games will be critical for Notts. If they have a good start, they have a chance of the playoffs.
  12. Your Thursday Morning Weather
  13. It is always hard the predict how the first game of the season will pan out, but I am confident that Notts can get a positive result at Tranmere. I would be happy with a 0:0 or 1:1 draw on Saturday. I think that Notts should field a more defensive line up for this one. My team if they are fit. Starting 11 Bass, Gordon, Macari, Platt, Bedeau, Tsaroulla, Robertson, Edwards, Crowley, Jones, Jatta. Subs, Nemane, Scott, McGoldrick, Austin, Slocombe, McDonald, Hinchy I would play Jones supporting Jatta upfront with a roving role. The side has been picked to ensure we don't get exposed on the flanks because Gordon & Tsaroulla are wingbacks that can defend. I just think that for the first game, Notts should be more cautious to help to ensure that Notts get the right result on Saturday. With that side Notts are quite capable of snatching a win. CMON U PIES!
