Connell Rawlinson Bids Emotional Farewell to Notts County Fans
Nice to see that from Connell. He clearly enjoyed his stay at Notts, and him saying that he has become a fan are warm words Indeed. Former players always have warm words for the club and I'm sure we may see him back here from time to time, especially when he has retired from the game. Notts are a family club for players and the fans.

England v Slovakia: Pre & Post Match Analysis.
So England are losing 0:1 at half time. We are not playing any different than the first three games. We haven't really threatened the Slovakia goal yet. I admit, since their goal Slovakia are defending deeper and deeper and haven't really threatened England since. But I believe we need some fresh blood at half time to try to get behind the Slovakian defence more and get plenty of crosses in. The ITV pundits are absolutely scathing of this England performance.

England are all over the place at the back. They haven't improved since their last two games. England look tired, especially Bellingham. Tippy tappy football, trying to walk it into the net.

So the waiting is over. England have stuttered somewhat but have still qualified from their group as group winners and are in the round of 16 today where they face Slovakia for a place in the last 8. Slovakia have played above their standing and are not to be taken lightly. But England surely have to be favourites. It's the knockout stage so we will know in a couple of hours if England move on or come home. The teams will be out shortly. England expects.CMON England.

Agree @liampie. England have a tremendous opportunity to get to the Semis. If we get past Slovakia, it would be Switzerland next and you'd think we would be favourites to beat them.

Iconic landmark maybe, Ratcliffe-on-Soar Power Station to close
I think this Country should invest in Nuclear energy now, It is too late to build any coal fired power stations because most have been closed, & they are a lot less efficient than Nuclear or even gas fired power stations. Trouble is the present nuclear power stations are growing old, so we need to invest in smaller modular nuclear power stations. I just don't like having row after row of solar panels using up valuable land. If they are going to build wind farms build them out to sea and not on the land

Historic Nottingham
I used to live with my mum and Dad on Isandula road, Basford until I was 4. My Dad worked at Wollaton Pit. I can remember the big gas works at the bottom of the road that held the old Coal gas. My elder cousin worked at Bairnswear at the top of Isandula Road. She used to stop at our house during the week while working there. My parents used to shop on Hyson Green High street, there were lots of small shops, like the butcher, the greengrocer & the fishmonger. The old TSB Bank was across the street. People used to buy all their groceries from little shops then. My dad used to take me to Noel street baths or Victoria baths because he was a keen swimmer. Taught me to swim when I was very young. I can remember me and my mum catching a trolley bus into Town, Why did they ever get rid of them? Really good memories of the Nottingham in the early sixties, how the City has changed since that time.

England v Slovakia: Pre & Post Match Analysis.
Via Sky news "Southgate warns against 'throwing everything out the window' England have faced heavy criticism about their poor performances in the tournament so far. But manager Gareth Southgate has warned against "throwing everything out the window" by making sweeping changes to tonight's line-up. "A team is never quite as poor as people might think, and never quite as good as people might think," Southgate said yesterday". So we shouldn't expect many changes at all from Southgate. Ever the ultra cautious. Hope he not going to play for penalties.

- Connell Rawlinson’s Departure: Five Memorable Years at Meadow Lane
Connell Rawlinson is a player who we will always be regarded as being a great servant to Notts County. He will also be regarded as one of the great heros who helped to get Notts back to the Football League where Notts belong. I am sad to see him go because he is a player who always gives his all every game that he plays, and he's a good team player too. I wish Connell all the best for the next step in his football journey, and I am sure he will do well for any club that he joins. In conclusion I would say that Connell will always be welcomed back to the lane by the fans, whether for another team or not.- Cartoon Corner.
