  1. Week 29 of 46 Notts' v Stockport match has been postponed. Only four games in league 2 have escaped the weather. MK Dons v Morecambe Newport v Wrexham Gillingham v Forest Green Barrow V Crewe
  2. Storm Isha is on its way. Keep safe.
  3. Why did you join prideofnottingham.co.uk? I found PON on twitter on the Notts County hashtag. I checked the site out on a few visits and liked what I saw, the great content, the banter, & the interesting reading, so I decided to join. What is your main highlight of being a member? I really like the content that is being put out every day. There's always something different to discuss with and exchange opinions with members in a respectful way, that you largely don't get on X & Facebook much of the time. How much have you seen PoN grow during your time? I haven't been here very long, however I have seen an uptick in the number of visitors since the new year. That bodes well for potential new members. As a community, what would you say are the three core values to PoN and why? When I joined PON I was given a really nice welcome by many members and I realised almost immediately that I was joining a good Community of people all united by their love of our club. And as a Community I have already seen respect, tolerance and understanding between the members, mixed with fun, banter, & lively debate. So I would say those are my three core values for this Community, because I've seen it.
  4. Meet the Players Emma White: Midfield. https://nottscountywomenfc.co.uk/teams/Notts-County-Women-FC/players/661976
  5. Get your brollies out for the weekend.
  6. This was an excellent performance by Cameron to beat Casper Ruud in 4 sets. Cam has gone through a disappointing 2023 where he was regularly beaten by players ranked below him, but this win today could lead to much better things for Cam this year & will do much to regain his confidence. Getting to the final 16 of a slam is always going to be big and Cam has the ability to go even further.
  7. Norwich City 1 Notts County 2 Division 1 Nov 1982 featuring Gordon Mair and Trevor Christie, with assists from John Chidozie.
  8. Cam Norrie reaches the fourth round of the Australian Open for the first time. Well done Cam.
  9. I'm disappointed that the match has been called off, however it does give Stuart more time with the players before the next scheduled match, which will be at home to Barrow on the 27th. Steve can now work with his players on the training ground which will help our new Head Coach to determine how we line up & whether he will make small changes to our tactics for the match. So for me this is a big positive even though it's disappointing that today's match won't go ahead.
  10. The match against Stockport is postponed
  11. Lloyd Glasspool & his partner battle through to third round of men's doubles. Into the 2nd round of the mixed doubles for Neil Skupski & Desire Krawczyk.
  12. I do miss Archie Mair. He would have been an awesome signing if Notts could have pulled it off.
  13. @ChrisI've been scouring You tube for any more goals from Tony when he came to Notts for a 2nd time in 1970. Not found any yet but I will keep looking. I remember left winger Charlie Crickmore had many assists providing pin point crosses for Tony to head in during that Championship winning season. They both played in a great side.
  14. I do like to hear Mark Stallard as a summariser on BBC Notts County commentaries. He adds passion, personality, knowledge and entertaining banter to those commentaries, & he was the perfect foil for Charlie Slater as they took us through our promotion season.
  15. Hear Hear.
  16. Latest from the MET Office. Rain spreading east on Saturday.
  17. It was so sad that the original Macclesfield Town came upon hard times and was unfortunately wound up in Sept 2020. A phoenix club Macclesfield FC, rose from the ashes and began life in the North West Counties Premier Division, the fifth step of the National League system, in August 2021, and currently competes in the Northern Premier League following two successive promotions. It's great to see Macclesfield coming back and they can still dream of returning to league status one day.
  18. I do look for the results of Basford United & AFC Mansfield (not to be confused with Mansfield Town) which is my local team.
  19. I've been very impressed with Jim over the last few weeks since Luke left. The management showed great confidence in Jim to step in and Jim stepped up to the plate & acted in such a professional way. It was clear that the players have great respect For him too. I was particularly impressed by the way Jim handled the interviews, where he demonstrated that he had a clear vision and plan for what he wanted to do while in charge. When Jim's playing career comes to an end, I believe he will have a future in football Management.
  20. I was fearing this with all the freezing weather we've had. Mansfield game already called off.
  21. It's so refreshing for players and fans, that we have a club captain in Kyle who is ready and able to lead by example and guide the players in what is always a tumultuous time when a Manager/ Head Coach leaves. Experience and commonsense is always important at this time too, & Kyle has an abundance of that. Kyle's leadership is going to be very important as the team has to transition to the new coaching methods, ways, tactics & system of play. And Kyle is already doing just that.
  22. Update from the Met Office.
  23. This is so sad and it effects a whole community and it's the supporters who suffer the most. But this is just symptomatic of what's happening in Football around the Country with the rich clubs getting richer and those clubs down the football pyramid struggling. We have seen it time and time again over the last few years, but the football authorities either can't or won't try to do anything about it. The solution is simple. The Premier League need to filter much more money down to the lower leagues, & there should be a contingency fund, or something to that effect, to help clubs such as Nuneaton who come across hard times.
