  1. We already have four strikers on the books, Jatta, Morias, Didzy and Scott. Do we really need another one? If the Notts defence does it's job this season that could result in 30 to 40 goals less conceded this season, that's more than enough to compensate for losing Macca. I think we have the firepower to score 75 to 80+ goals with the team we have. We should get goals from our midfield again, & more goals from our taller defenders from set pieces. We have 21 in the squad so another four additions would take Notts up to 25 + the under 21s.
  2. This friendly match will be a step up from the Alfreton match seeing that Wycombe are a league one club. I would like to see Stuart play as close to what he believes is his first eleven at least for the first half and his second string in the second half. I would like to see Junior Morias start upfront with Scott with a strong midfield to support them. We didn't see Austin, Robertson, McDonald, Tsaroulla or Jatta figure in the Alfreton match so I'm wondering if they have the little niggles that prevented them both from playing? Key areas for Notts will be defence & attack. Notts could do with a good defensive performance against a reasonable league one side. I would like to see Macari, Bedeau & Platt at the back playing together with Alex Bass as the goalkeeper. We may see more trialists playing for Notts too, however I would love to see how the new players perform together, because those players are hopefully going to make the difference for Notts this season. I'm hoping for us not to concede even if it's a 0:0 draw.

  4. It was a good workout for the lads tonight. Nice to get some minutes on the pitch. The result? Pretty meaningless really, several trialists playing and basically two different teams playing in each half. What have we learned? Well the guys got some playing minutes. All our strikers got 45 minutes. Can't really make any judgement till we see what Maynard will regard has his strongest team take the field together. Then we may know a lot more about how good the team could be.
  5. So Notts first match without Macaulay Langstaff finishes. Alfreton 2 Notts 2
  6. Notts get an equaliser from an own goal from a Nemane cross. Alfreton 2 Notts 2.
  7. Alfreton retake the lead Alfreton 2 Notts 1.
  8. Notts equalise Alfreton 1 Notts 1
  9. Back to it for the second half plus the new team sheet. No Jatta then.
  10. That wasn't in the script. Alfreton 1 Notts 0 Half Time Alfreton 1 Notts 0
  11. Starting eleven for tonight's friendly.
  12. In his pre match interview, Stuart reported that some players have niggles so I would expect that there may be some Academy players in the squad to play tonight. It is probable that Matt Palmer won't feature tonight as he is going to be carefully managed back to match fitness.
