  1. @DangerousSausage And that's just it. Times have changed for the worse. Teams like Man City are in effect buying success. They may as well pay a billion pounds and buy the Champions league for a year. That's why there needs to be a transfer cap to stop the top clubs buying all the best players. Something like £100 million tops per season to start with. That would fix the big spending
  2. They play at "The Bay" sports ground just over the river from Meadow Lane next to Radcliffe Road
  3. A convincing first half performance from Nottingham sees them well in the lead at half time.
  4. Half Time Bristol C 0 v Forest 0 Chelsea 0 v A Villa 0 Sheff Weds 0 v Coventry 1 Latest score Spurs 0 v Man C 0
  5. @DangerousSausage I mentioned Shankly, you could even include Clough, Nicolson, Mercer, and Revie who built very good sides that were successful in the league & in Europe from scratch, they didn't have the best players by any state of the imagination but they built them, coached them and managed them into successful sides. But now it's different, the top sides have the best players because they have the money and the rest cannot compete. For me, the managers that I've mentioned are the best.
  6. Four Matches tonight. Spurs v Man City Bristol C v Forest Chelsea v A Villa Sheff Weds v Coventry I'm going for Spurs, Bristol C, Coventry and Villa to go through. I hope Spurs go through,
  7. Exactly @KB1862 we have the quality up front to find a goal or too even if the team is focusing more on protecting our defense.
  8. @Fan of Big Tone What out for the Saharan dust.
  9. The investigations into Man City and Chelsea need to be moved on quickly and a verdict decided. Until that is done many fans won't have confidence that the playing field is fair.
  10. @KB1862 To be honest mate, I was getting a little bit annoyed with Luke for being so stubborn as to not tweaking the way we were playing a little bit. We were leaking goals like a sieve but no changes were being made to give our defense more cover. Stuart had identified that immediately he took over, and we will probably see small changes on Saturday as a result.
  11. I agree VAR does have the potential to improve the game but where was it when Real Madrid played Almeria? Almeria was robbed plain and simple. Trouble with VAR everyone who views the footage sees something different. VAR in it's present form will never be foolproof.
  12. Too true.
  13. To be honest, not interested in what Luke is doing now, he's moved on. The grass may not be greener on the other side for him. Hope he succeeds at Swansea for his sake but my focus is now for Stuart Maynard and our Team.
  14. Match highlights against Sutton Coldfield WFC. The ladies are finding it difficult in this league, hopefully they can stay clear of the bottom.
  15. The pitch is ready for this evening's match.
  16. Lots of work for England to do tomorrow.
  17. I'll start you off with one.
  18. This is the thread for some light relief & for having a laugh. If you have a joke to share, post it on this thread. If you have a clip of any of the stand up comedians, post it here.????
  19. Sorry but I say big deal. He's not a patch on Bill Shankly or Bob Paisley. The advantage that the big six Clubs have since the introduction of the Premier League, and the fact, the Champions league is no longer a competition for Champions, takes away any respect I have for the big six Managers of the last 20 years.
  20. Weather Summary for Saturday and Sunday. A bright day for England and Wales on Saturday, above average temperatures. Sunday will be rather cloudy with sunny spells.
  21. India are well in command of the 2st test after the conclusion of the 2nd day. India end the day on 421/7 in their first innings in reply to England's 246 all out. England will have to bat much better if they are to have any chance of saving this test.
  22. @Ohh Tommy Johnson @liampie @Chris I think it is significant that we never seem to get regular controversy with the Cricket and Rugby VAR decisions. In cricket it tends to initiate debate when a catch is taken with the hands touching the ground, but otherwise viewers agree with decisions made. In Football it comes down to multiple decisions made that initiate debate. VAR was supposed to solve or the problems about Refs making the wrong decisions, but it's implementation has only increased the lack of trust in the decision making.
  23. Nottingham RFC play the British Army tonight, kick of 7:45 pm, in a friendly at the bay. Here is their line up for the game.
  24. A 5th Straight Australian Open title for Alfie Hewett and Gordon Reid in the Tennis Wheelchair Doubles, and 19th Grand Slam overall.
