  1. Your Saturday Morning Weather
  2. @Blake Nothing wrong with that. Hoping for the best for England. Hoping they can win well and lift the Nation.
  3. Went shopping this morning, try not to go on Friday usually because even at 10 am Tesco is very busy. Made sure I took the wife's grocery list this time. Anyway, looking forward to the England match against Slovakia this weekend. Haven't got much else planned accept the usual few miles of walking each day, already done a mile walking around Tesco. Used to walk about 6 miles or more a shift as a delivery driver 5 days a week.
  4. Macaulay is not just one of the best strikers in the EFL, he is much more than that, he is very valuable to Notts, not just for his scoring prowess, he is a valuable part of the Notts overall team game too. Macaulay's work rate for Notts is outstanding, and you see him in all parts of the pitch working hard. Up front he usually has 2 players marking him, and Macca is given lots of attention in the penalty area by our opponents, and that leaves room for Notts attackers to exploit that space. Every player has his price but I believe Notts should do all they can to keep him at Meadow lane, at least for another season. Macca could prove to be very valuable on the transfer market for Notts, however I believe Macca could be more valuable to Notts by helping to get Notts promoted to League one. Notts have brought in six excellent signings to strengthen the squad. Let's keep our best players, especially Macca, so that Stuart Maynard can mould this team into a promotion winning team.
  5. Welcome to our PON community @BiggestPieInGlasgow
  6. I am very proud to be part of the PON community of Notts County supporters. Before I joined, I checked out the site for a while before joining and I was so impressed by the content such as the articles & threads plus the very high calibre contribution from the members. The PON site is growing from strength the strength with a great team that look after it & the members that contribute to its content. Long may it continue.
  7. @Chris @Wheelbarrow repair man As an example, Jude Bellingham has been lauded as the best England player we have and is also touted as currently the best player in Europe and is being mentioned as being in the same page as Ronaldo & Messi I've seen Messi quite a lot playing for his club and internationally, and I can't remember him having a poor match. If he didn't score, he was till an influence on the pitch. Bellingham has had a poor tournament to date. He scored England's only goal in the first group match and he played reasonably well in the that match too, but in the next two he looked ordinary. I don't want to say he is overrated because he is clearly a gifted player, but as in any sport such as tennis for instance, talent is one thing but the head has to be tuned in too. For me Bellingham looks out of it mentally at this time, his reaction to the rough treatment he was getting was telling, & he looked frustrated too.
  8. By taking the Cups seriously, I mean that we should play our strongest squad, not necessarily our strongest team. That's probably one of the reasons Stuart wanted to put together a bigger stronger squad to be able to rest some players on occasionally even for the League matches. Notts can still put some of our star players on the substitutes bench for cup games in the early rounds, & Notts should still be very competitive with a good large squad.
  9. @Chris If Rod can do a job for Notts for a couple of seasons and help Notts to get promotion, it will be money well spent. I just believe that Rod is just the kind of player we needed. If it is true, that he is calm on the ball that's exactly what we need, especially after what we saw last season. If Notts can stem the goals against by around 35 goals, compared to last season, Notts are promoted.
  10. Notts have done great business to acquire 6 quality players that will strengthen the Boots squad significantly. I expect two see at least another two signings through the door before the pre season friendlies start. However, I don't want to see Notts walking 6 to 8 paces forward, then going back a pace or three by selling Macaulay Langstaff or any other of a valuable & influential players.
  11. This is not just about the sad demise of Southend, we have a long sorry list of Clubs going out of business and some being resurrected in another form, low down the football pyramid. If Southend go out of business I am sure it will rise again in another form, nobody wants to see that and I hope they can raise the money required but it does look at stretch. We know football as a whole in this Country is in trouble but unfortunately, the footballing authorities don't want to change the status quo, because it might affect the earnings of the elite clubs The spectre of a Super League being formed will always figure in the FAs & EFLs thinking, so more money for the lower leagues will always be a non starter.
  12. Macca is much more than being the best striker in league 2. Notts have a player who has a phenomenal work rate. Macca never stops running and we see him all over the pitch. He regularly has two players marking him, giving space to other Notts players. In and around the penalty area, Macca is taking all the attention toward himself and allows other Notts attackers to ghost into the penalty area unnoticed. This has been a feature for the last two seasons. Langstaff is much more to Notts than just an outstanding striker. He's an outstanding team man too.
  13. Brit Men singles first round matches at Wimbledon
  14. Just had an email from Notts advertising for the England game against Slovakia. Notts have already sold 600 tickets. The Nest is proving to be a good off season money spinner for Notts.
  15. Macaulay Langstaff has 3 years left on his contract, Notts have a great chance of getting promoted this season if he stays for at least another year. It just wouldn't make any sense at all if Notts sold him to a league 1 club now or even a championship club. I believe Notts should stand firm and hold Macaulay for at least another season, if Notts do get promoted, Macca may want to stay anyway & I'm sure Notts would offer him an extension to his present contract. I say to Notts. Please don't sell him! We need him more than we need his transfer fee. He will potentially earn Notts much more by him staying.
  16. No matter if it is to do with sport or elsewhere, the press will always try to look for a sensational story, even if it proves to be either not true or not entirely true later, it's called the rumour mill. Lots of the stories we see on the web are "click and bait" stories that get you to click on the story, then you get bombarded by advertising and you are also asked if you want to get notifications from that website in future. Lots of these click and bait stories are merely rumours. Rumours on the web are more and more being treated as fact. Of course we get many stories that are entirely true, and come from creditable news organisations, but many of these true stories can also be stretched in a way where some of it is questionable. We've seen lots of examples of click and bait stories regarding England, Notts, & other football clubs. The legit news outlets are trusted by their readers & those news organisations should ensure that their news stories are fact checked thoroughly before posting them out to the public in my opinion.
  17. Interesting that he still has a year to run on his contract, so he would cost Notts probably up to 500K. Why buy him when we have the best striker in the league? Nah, it wouldn't make sense.
  18. Yes he went to Dundee. He did alright at Notts. Dad when he left to early for me.
