What can you say about Macaulay Langstaff? A beautiful hat trick tonight including a penalty. All in all it's been a great night for Notts now only 4 points behind second place, we stand in 5th place on 42 points.

Tom Harris managed our club from 1893 to 1913, a very long period of time for a Club Manager. They were actually called Secretary Managers in those days. Tom is the only Notts County Manager that has lifted the FA Cup, winning it in 1894, when Notts defeated Bolton Wanderers 4:1 at Goodison Park. Notts were actually a Division 2 club when they won the Cup, defeating 3 Top tier sides on the way to their triumph. Tom also guided Notts to the Division 2 Championship in season 1896/97 and a 3rd place in Division 1 in 1900/01. Tom is a true legend of Notts County Football Club & his achievement is unique, which puts him equal to all the other great Managers who have served this club.

Again, if injury free I would keep with the same side. Key areas will be our defence. Keep the errors to a minimum. If in doubt kick it out. Be weary of being hit on the break when we are upfield on set pieces/corners. Move the ball quickly through the channels and get behind them. Jodi will be key for us again. We are very capable of getting a win here. I'm going 2:1 to Notts.

There will be no surprise to others on my choice. It has to be the one and only Jimmy Sirrel. Mr Notts County. Which Manager can have included in his CV, taking a club from the 4th tier of Football to the 1st? Not only did he lead but he built a team to traverse each league and motivate that team to success. Not only did he do all that, but he also had wit and a personality too, & He loved this club with a passion.

Don Masson for me. Midfield general and playmaker. He's simply the best and managed by the best Manager we've ever had, Jimmy Sirrel. -

VAR has actually made things worse in the Premier league.No one I know likes this system at all. I wouldn't like to see VAR introduced in the EFL. I say Leave it to the Referees. When a decision goes against us it's a talking point for a while but we move on, until the next incident. It's just part of football, it's not perfect, but it's the same in any other officiated sport. -

Looks like he could be a good acquisition at this level, young and plenty of scope for development. If the recruiters think he can do a job for us, I trust their judgement. They haven't got things wrong lately have they.

It is nice to read the story of a dedicated supporter and his life following his favourite team. There are stories just like this being made week by week and year by year. And that is going on in every part of our Country and across the World. A Football Club supporters story is a story for the ages.

One of England's best centre forwards wanted to play for us, Tony Hateley returned, Jimmy Sirrel returned as Manager, Didzy returned, former Managers and players come back to visit or work for the club. Current players are loving it playing for Notts County. Those examples above represent in a nutshell, what makes this club so special and unique.

Really liked your replies @theMagpies & @Benji They mirror my sentiments too. The recruiters at Notts have to be given a big thumbs up too, for the players they have recruited over the last 12 months. They've played a blinder.

A recurring theme with our new players is the passion and love they have for this club and Dan is no different. Ten goals from Dan playing from midfield halfway through the season is a good number. Ruben is Ruben but Dan has filled his shoes very well since he came into the side. May Dan's good form continue because he plays an important roll in our side.

I agree with the sentiments on this thread. We are blessed to have the skills and experience of John Bostock at Notts. He still has the skill well above league 2 level.
