  1. I haven't watched much horse racing since the days of Peter O'Sullivan, Brough Scott and Co, I still watch the Derby and Grand National every year when I can. It is great that a leading sporting personality like Haley is supporting Notts.
  2. I see your point, and O'Connor looks a decent player, but Notts reckon Rod is a good player, so I'm pleased he's signed for us. Notts may also think that Rod will fit well into our system too.
  3. Full time Croatia 1 Italy 1 Albania 0 Spain 1 With just a minute to go Croatia were through to the last 16, then Italy get a fantastic goal in the last minute of injury time, so Italy go through and Croatia have to wait to see if the can qualify by a best third place finish. Spain qualify as leaders of the group. Italy are second and qualify. Croatia have to wait. Albania finish bottom
  4. Croatia 1 Italy 0 Albania 0 Spain 1 58 mins gone. Croatia get a penalty for handball but the Italian goalkeeper saves it, but Croatia then score a minute later in open play.
  5. Half Time. Croatia 0 Italy 0 Albania 0 Spain 1
  6. @Fan of Big Tone I didn't know about the PON emojis either, I've been using my keyboard emojis
  7. Croatia 0 Italy 0 Albania 0 Spain 1 15 minute gone
  8. Group B final matches. Croatia 0 Italy 0 Albania 0 Spain 0 1 minute gone
  9. STUMPS Somerset close on 293-4, just 67 behind the Notts first inns score of 360 (Stone 83). Tom Abell is 105 not out, with the four wickets shared around Work for Notts to do tomorrow morning to avoid a first innings deficit on an increasingly benign pitch.
  10. Welcome to Rod McDonald another addition to our defensive squad which is starting to look very strong now. He is apparently strong in the air and is good at passing which will be a strong point for Notts. A "Rolls Royce of a centre back" was how he was described as by a Harrogate supporter on social media. The Notts management have identified where we need strengthening and boy they are really doing something about it big time. Three new first class central defenders on the Notts books is a dream come true for all Notts supporters. With the total of 5 new additions, I would like to see an additional central Midfielder & a right footed wing back that would complete a fantastic transfer window for Notts. The new season cannot come quick enough can it
  11. @Wheelbarrow repair man He's another left footed player so I suppose it puts Kyle Cameron further down the pecking order. Notts are certainly putting together a strong defensive squad with plenty of options. The defensive area was certainly a problem for Notts last season, but they are certainly putting that right on paper.
  12. Another great addition by Notts. Rod McDonald will bolster our defensive options. Rod has plenty of experience which he will be able to bring to bear next season. Notts are certainly serious about fighting for promotion next season by having a good strong squad which we were lacking last season. Exciting times for Notts. Let's see at least two more additions, a defensive midfielder and a right wing back would do just nicely
  13. Welcome to the PON community @Up the Maggies
  14. Hold on to your hats.
  15. The new pitch looks magnificent and it takes Notts into the Premier League Club of pitches The improvements we are seeing at Meadow lane are a testament to the commitment of our owners, the Reedtz brothers, to continue to build this Club into a major force in English football. Notts fans like myself have experienced our fair share of lows during the years, but we can now look to the future with great optimism, on and off the pitch.
  16. @Wheelbarrow repair man I saw the funny side of it. But it would have been a nice touch to either push an all English breakfast or plain old fish and chips for the England game. Just saying.
  17. Great win for Harriet Dart at Eastbourne.
  18. I think the problem with the England players is attitude. And I suppose it's not political correct to say that either.
  19. Somerset have had the better of the afternoon session & at Tea are 173/ 2 trail Notts by 187 runs
  20. Scotland has always suffered from the fact that their League system is so weak They have two sides in Rangers & Celtic who would struggle to get out of the Championship and the rest of the Premier League is top of English League 1 standard only. The rest of the teams outside their Premier League, some of our National league sides would beat them. And because more & more foreigners are coming in, the Scottish players get less & less game time & have to come to England. Scotland used to rely on big name players in the past, who played in the old first divisions like Dalglish, McLeish, McStay, McCoist, Robertson, Law & McAlister when they used to beat England quite often.
  21. England's next match is against Slovenia ranked 57th by FIFA. Nothing less than an England win will do against Slovenia and if they don't win, no excuses will be accepted.
  22. I would have thought it would have been good to go full English & promote good old English Fish and Chips with mushy peas.
