  1. Euro 24 Schedule for 24th June. B: Croatia vs Italy (Leipzig, 20:00) B: Albania vs Spain (Düsseldorf, 20:00)
  2. Another point that may or may not have been brought up. The England players that have been selected are good players, we know that, but many of these players may not be exceptional players, they stand out more because at their clubs, they are surrounded by exceptional international players which makes them look better than they actually are. We know, Bellingham, Walker, Stones, Foden, Saka, & Kane are very good players but they do play in exceptional club sides surrounded by great players. When placed in the England side the other England players look to them to lead & more than often it doesn't play out to well. If those five players are not on their game 100%, it has a negative affect on the other six & the structure of the team suffers. I've always thought that the England team could do better with a team full of players of equal skill, that are team players with just one or two exceptional players in the side, that the team is built around.
  3. Agree with you @Wheelbarrow repair man. I don't know about anyone else and correct me if I have missed it, but I haven't heard anyone from the England camp apologise to the Nation for the performance of the team against Denmark. And instead of criticising pundits for their negative comments, I want to hear from the England camp a positive message that the team are going to show bags of energy, commitment, work till they drop, press & hassle the opposition, don't give them a minute on the ball. And when we get the ball back England are quick to attack with pace and movement with either quick short & incisive passing to get the ball up front asap. None of this passing from side to side and backwards, no standing still with the ball. And if the first team players can't do that, replace them with the squad players. Nothing less than that will be acceptable against Slovenia.
  4. Update End of the Notts innings. Notts all out for 360. Stone made a brilliant 83 Clarke & Haynes made 50s Notts get three batting points
  5. @Wheelbarrow repair man Agree, it was a clear penalty. Surely there is a protocol that VAR has to investigate incidents like this automatically. Obviously there isn't. As we have been saying on here, VAR was hastily adopted and there are lots of faults with it. It appears that VAR is subject to the officials opinion, so for me, if we are still going by opinion, what is the point of VAR. I'm sure that the decision had nothing to do with the fact that it was an Argentinian Ref officiating.
  6. Notts will resume the 2nd Day of their match against Somerset on 326/8 at 11am.
  7. A fine & increasingly warm start to Monday for most.
  8. Macca's contact expires 30 June 2027. He has 3 years left of his contract with Notts.
  9. @Wheelbarrow repair man I wanted Scotland to win too. They just didn't seem to have the real belief that they could win this match We've seen it all before with England. Fannying around at the back passing it from side to side, then back then going up field a little then coming back again. Then after all that they send a long ball forward and lose possession. I know I've said it before but our teams have a fixation for the continental style, but the continental style is quick passing & movement off the ball, something that our teams are lacking. If one system is not working change it, but Scotland only changed it & pushed up field with 10 mins to go. Far too late really.
  10. Scotland are out of Euro 24 after losing to Hungary with virtually the last kick of the match. Scotland were denied a clear penalty with just three minutes to go. The referee said no to a penalty and the incident didn't even go to VAR, which is inexplicable. The BBC pundits all agreed that it should have been a penalty. If VAR is supposed to be there to check if a Ref makes a mistake in penalty decisions, why are there inconsistencies with VAR? Overall, Scotland just didn't do enough in the game from the possession they had. They lacked quality up front and didn't really threaten the Hungary goal till the last ten minutes of the game. Did anyone see the game and if you did what are your views on Scotland?
  11. That's great news. Really pleased that Alan is out of hospital. Hoping that Alan has a full & complete recovery.
  12. Hungary scored on a breakaway in the 10th minute of injury time Hungary will have to wait to see if they can qualify for one of the best third places Scotland woke up in the last 10 mins but too cautious for most of the game. Full time Scotland 0 Hungary 1 Switzerland & Germany get the draw that takes both of them through to the last 16. Full Time Switzerland 1 Germany 1
  13. Germany have scored a late equaliser. We are deep in injury time in both games. Switzerland 1 Germany 1 Scotland still fighting for a win Scotland 0 Hungary 0
  14. You beat me too it @Fan of Big Tone With Switzerland winning these two sides have to go for the win but Scotland are passing it around at the back, sideways, backwards & playing too deep. For Pete's sake Scotland, get players up and go LONG.Show some motivation This fixation with the continental style by Scotland and England isn't working for them. There's a very serious injury to an Hungarian player. The match has been stopped a while now. The player has been stretched off
  15. Half Time Switzerland 1 Germany 0 Scotland 0 Hungary 0 @Piethagoram Scotland hasn't scored yet. I tried my best????
  16. @Chris @Wheelbarrow repair man I just don't think that the excuse of parachute payments as a lifeline for clubs being relegated stands at all. Parachute payments clearly stifles competition in the lower league and encourages the phenomenon of yo yo clubs. We've seen it in the Championship year after year. It is simply not fair and that fact should override any justification for keeping parachute payments. Football needs fixing and the first priority is to make football more exciting and less predictable. That means stopping Parachute Payments & putting a cap on transfers and players wages.
  17. Latest scores Switzerland 1 Germany 0 Scotland 0 Hungary 0 30 mins gone
  18. @Wheelbarrow repair man I don't think Southgate is a good motivator, but if the England team or individual players aren't motivated to represent their Country in the 2nd most predigeous tournament in the World they shouldn't be playing for England full stop. It may also be a case of some players thinking they are too good to be dropped from the side, & the scourge of player power is not far behind, ready to rear it's ugly head.
  19. Group A Matches Scotland 0 Hungary 0 Switzerland 0 Germany 0 Matches have started.
  20. @Wheelbarrow repair man I see what you are saying, it seems that the way football is run, as we have always known it was favours the clubs over all our four national sides. Other Countries, especially the smaller footballing Countries, get their national squad together much much earlier than we do for Football's main international events I suppose there's always a solution to be had with a little sensible negotiation. Maybe we could look at players who are not always featured in the first team's of top clubs, or even look at players lower down the leagues, such as the Championship. England could build a side around Bellingham & a few other top players & they could join the rest of the majority of the squad that have been training together on a semi full time basis. What I am suggesting is radical, but to ever win a major international trophy, the side has to play as a team and know each other inside out, , but under the existing policy, that is going to be very difficult if they don't get plenty of time together.
  21. I am so pleased for Stuart Maynard. He looks absolutely delighted with the Notts four signings & he clearly had a lot of input into getting the type of players that he wanted. I think this transfer window has been very good for Notts. Of course we have to wait & see if these four players will fit well into the Notts system, but their playing record suggests that they should be a success. These four players added to the players we already have, & I'm sure we have a few more to come too in the next few weeks. A solid back three, in front of a good goalkeeper, our exciting wingbacks, midfield & with our attacking prowess, will make Notts an exciting team to watch next season. I cannot wait for the for it to begin.
