Match Discussion: League Two - Grimsby Town (A)
I just think that winning just one of our last four matches points to the fact that we are missing Jatta, & we definitely missed Norburn too against Grimsby. According to Martin, they are both getting back to fitness along with Palmer, I hope they are ready to play against Walsall. Norburn & Jatta in particular, would make a big difference at both ends of the pitch.

Reasons to Remain Optimistic.
Even though the Notts team had a disappointing loss at home to Grimsby, & have only earned 4 points from a possible 12, I remain optimistic that Notts can still challenge successfully for promotion & here's why. We have three of our best players, Palmer, Norburn, & Jatta getting close to full fitness & will return soon. Notts still have to play 5 matches against teams currently in the top 10, so Notts can still gain lots of points, (up to 15) at the expense of their closest rivals. Notts still have an 8 point cushion between themselves & the team in 8th place, so at the very least, Notts are still looking good for a playoff place. Which gives them another opportunity to achieve promotion. Notts are still just 1 point adrift of the team in 3rd place in League 2, so they remain very much in the mix, & it is still in their own hands to finish in the top three. What are your thoughts?

Who's your Man of the Match v Grimsby?
I think the pick of the team came from the defence today. The Notts attack failed to take their chances so for me it's between Macari, Platt or Bedeau. Out of this three I think Platt just shaded it, so he is my Notts Man of the Match. The Notts defence continues to perform consistently which is a big plus.

Didzy hatrick
I think that Notts did make a mistake not coming to an agreement with Didzy for him to stay this season. But we've moved on & Notts have to try to & do their best with the players that we have now.

Up to date League 2 table after today's games. Notts still have an 8 point cushion to the team in 8th place.

Who's your Man of the Match v Grimsby?
A very dissapointing defeat today which loses Notts precious ground in the promotion race. So who's the Notts player who stood out above the rest. These are the players I've named for you to make your choice. Those players are, Belshaw, Macari, Platt, Bedeau, Tsaroulla, Robertson, Iorpenda, Jones, Kouhyar, Grant, Ndlovu, Dennis.

Match Discussion: League Two - Grimsby Town (A)
A very dissapointing defeat for Notts today. We missed Norburn today. He's been on top form and he gives such a lot to that central midfield area. I also think that Martin got it wrong tactically in the 2nd half. I think defensively Enoru looks a bit lacking. I think he will need time to improve in that area The Ref wasn't very good & the sending off was dubious, but the sending off is not the reason for this defeat. We missed our chances, & in a close game like this one,, that can prove decisive. Grimsby took their opportunity & stayed firm at the back. They won the tactical battle. Notts just have to move on & bounce back away to Walsall, which will be a very hard task. I think that Notts have to concentrate on getting enough points to ensure a playoff place. I'm not sure that we have enough consistency to make the autos. And injuries & suspensions aren't helping us.

Maccurate Assessment
Macca has made 26 league appearances for Millwall this season, 18 of those appearances as a substitute. He's scored 3 goals & made 1 assist. I wouldn't say by those states that he is setting the World on fire at Millwall. Even though his record isn't good, Millwall do keep persisting with him so it seems that he does have something going for him there. Millwall are doing well in the Championship & Macca could find himself in the PL. Whether they would retain his services if they got promoted is another thing entirely. My guess is that he would be sold on to either another Championship Club or a Club in League 1. If Notts got promoted to League 1 we could dream of his return to Notts. It could turn out to be the perfect fit for him.

Match Discussion: League Two - Grimsby Town (A)
Listened to Martin Paterson's pre Grimsby presser. Regarding injuries, Ollie Norburn's is not as serious as first thought, & he'll be back earlier than expected. Matt Palmer is training so Martin & his staff will be getting involved with him. Alassana Jatta is getting close, very close, but Martin reiterated that the players currently in the side are holding the batton & it appears that Martin doesn't want to have to rush those injured players back too quickly. I got that Martin didn't want to give too much away to the opposition, so whether we will see any of those three players back on Saturday, is open to conjecture. I would bet against it.
