@liampie I think it's the biggest piece of self harm I have seen at a club. Sacking a Head Coach that was doing so well with his style of football that other clubs last season couldn't cope with. I think the whole shoddy situation just demonstrates again the state of Premiier League football in this Country.

All the latest news from the Notts County Women's team.A strong Notts County Women side came back from two goals down to beat Leicester City Academy 3:2 at Coronation Park on Sunday afternoon, with goals from Brooks, Hardy & Barnes, to advance in the League Plate competition.

We saw a different kind of win by Notts on Saturday. Notts didn't win by dominating possession & overwhelming their opponents by their passing game, they won by defending for long periods, surviving an aerial assault on their goal, not playing at their best, but still coming up with a bit of quality at the end with a well taken goal by Hall. Notts weren't allowed to show their attacking prowess in the way they would have liked but the Notts defence was outstanding with Roos having his best game of the season between the sticks. We have seen many matches, some at ML where the opposition has done the same to Notts when Notts have dominated the match, but failed to score due to excellent defending, then conceding a goal & opponents taking all the points. If Notts can continue to achieve positive results, just like this one, when they have been dominated by their opponents & have had to defend stoutly as a result, but still get the win, they won't be far away from the top of the league at the end of the season.

It was pleasing that Notts could get a result when they were not allowed to play at their best against Barnet.If Notts can eek out results like that, those points could prove vital to success this season. I wouldn't be surprised if Swindon Town employ similar tactics to Barnet when they meet Notts at the County Ground on Tuesday.I think that this match will be tougher than the Barnet match & this time Notts will need to be at their best. I suspect that barring any injuries, Martin will pick the same starting eleven & the same substitutes. Keeping a settled matchday squad can bring lots of dividends especially when the team are on a roll of positive results. I think Notts will have lots of defending to do again, & they will need to hold firm. Notts will be hoping for a repeat performance from goalkeeper Roos, similar to how he played against Barnet. As far as the result is concerned, I would be satisfied with a draw, however if Notts are on the ball, I wouldn't discount Notts winning.

Morning all. As @Fan of Big Tone is on his hols, I have started his chat thread in his absence. It looks a dreary & wet morning here. It did appear to be a little warmer last night but there was a lot of rain. Lots of rain is good for the garden. I'm pleased to say that many of our plants are still hanging on into the autumn & blooming. Our hanging baskets are still looking pretty good. The mild weather is definitely helping those plants to keep going a little longer.
