  6. If he did think that being a number 2 was preferable, & incidentally, I don't think he would, he would prove to me that he was never the right man for the Notts job anyway, but I don't think he's a quilter, he's a can doer.
  7. Nice poem @Chris
  8. Notts need to get back to winning ways on Saturday if they are going to be regarded as serious playoff contenders. I agree with @Chris that Scott Robertson should be a starter on Saturday. He should renew his partnership with Matt Palmer in the centre of midfield. I do think it is important for Notts to revert back to one striker with Jatta leading the line & Dennis just behind in an AM position. Iorpenda could be the other player behind Jatta with Jones reverting back to being on the wing. I also like the option of Jones & Tsaroula maybe swapping wings which could be a valuable change in tactics if it is seen as necessary by Paterson. I would also bring in Ness for Aljofree so my starting 11 would be,. Roos, Ness, McDonald, Bedeau, Tsaroula, Palmer, Robertson, Jones, Iorpenda, Dennis, Jatta. Subs Griffiths, Aljofree, Norburn, Jarvis (if fit) Cotter, Bennetts, Hall. I think that this match squad could get Notts back to winning ways. Eight players out of the starting eleven are players that have been at Notts for a while, so they should be able to play cohesively together.
  9. I don't think Paterson would take up any invitation to take a number two job in League 1. Leaving a club not having established himself as a winner at his new club as Head Coach, would be a backward step in my estimation. Of course it would be less pressure for him as a number two, but I do think Paterson is trying to establish himself as a leading EFL Head Coach.that could serve him well for his Career in football management.
  10. Up to date County Championship Table with one match to go. Notts lead by 14 points.
  11. NOTTS HAVE DONE IT. A WIN OVER THE CHAMPIONS. THIS IS MASSIVE.
  12. Four wickets for Notts in the morning session & the game is now in the balance At Lunch Surrey are 163 for 4 still needing 152 to win. Notts need six wickets to win.
  13. It could be an enthralling final day at the Oval with Surrey requiring 249 & Notts 10 wickets to win this clash of the top two sides in the County Championship. Will the Weather intervene to scupper the chances of both sides?
  14. @theAnticlough said, Personally, "I want Pato to try out Dennis in the Didzy role to help with linking up the build up play from defence ton attack". Agree this would be a good move. It worked so well with Jatta & Didzy in the same team, one behind the other. I think it is worth Patterson giving it a go. This could also release Jodi from that number 10 role & put him back on the wing where he is much more influential & dangerous to the opposition. Who would be the best alternative to place alongside Dennis in the AM role? Iorpenda, Grant, Jarvis or even Palmer. Could Palmer move up the field to play as an AM. He does have the talent. Could Iorpenda play alongside Norburn in the centre of Midfield? There are alternative roles for players that Paterson could chew over. I'm sure that Paterson is the type of coach who will consider putting players in different roles as he did Jones.
