  1. Another thing which May Work in Pep's Favour is the Fact Only Two Of Those Defeats have come in the Premier League. The International Break will also give City the chance to Regroup and they may get Injured Players back. Their Next two Matches are home to Spurs and Away to Liverpool neither an Easy Encounter, But has I've said Now we'll see how Good a Coach Guardiola Really Is.
  2. Pep will more than likely Survive, at least till the end of the current campaign when his contract runs out, (don't think he's signed a New one yet?) because who would City replace him with? It's Not that the City owners have anyone lined up, what it will do is see how Pep copes without his World Class Players, he relied on in the past four seasons. And give Fans an insight to see How he Handles the Pressure. If things don't Improve or only improve a little expect a Massive Spending Spree from the City Owners in the January Transfer Window. City still have the 115 charges hanging over their head, the Results of which are supposed to be Announced at the End of the Season. If they go against City watch for a Mass Exodus from the Etihad of Pep Players and maybe the present Owners.
  3. Depends on how Stuart Maynard views the Importance of this Competition or if he Prefers to Concentrate on the League and a FA Cup run. If it's the Former he'll need to put out his Strongest side, with the Risk of further injury to members of the First Team Squad, yes I know injuries can happen in any match, but playing regular First Teamers without giving them time to Rest and Recuperate from slight Knocks and little Niggles in a Match such as this, could Result in the Notts injury list growing, something which needs to be Avoided. If it's the Latter then a Team full of Fringe players and Academy Players will surfice. Either way it should be a Win for Notts on Home Turf. Strongest Side Magpies 3-0. Second XI Notts 2-1.
  4. Shame the Magpies couldn't hold on for the Win and take all 3 points. But we can be happy with the point they got and Notts still sit Third in the Table.
  5. An update on this Topic. Jose Mourinho has been Fined £15,000 and Banned for One Match for his Outburst about the Standard of Turkish Match Officials. The Turkish Football Governing Body declared that the Chosen One's Rant was, Contrary to Sportsmanship, Sport Ethics or the Concept of Fair play and were Diminishing the Value of Football in the Country. At the Moment Mourinho's Employers Fenerbahce, haven't commented on the part of the Out Burst regarding what Mourinho said about the Club's President. It would seem to Me that the Chosen One wont see out his contract in Turkey, and He is looking for a Return to the Premier League.
  6. An Interesting Question @Robbie. Strange as it may seem I came across a Comment in a Similar Vein. The Commentator stated that the EFL ( English Football League) Should be Rebranded as the FFL (Foreign Football League) because they believe there are to Many Foreign Players and Coaches within the English Game, which is True. Yes I am In Total Agreement with you @Robbie there should be a Minimum of English Players at every Club in the Premier League, you suggest 13, I'd say at Least 15 and there should in my Opinion a certain number of English Players in each Teams Starting XI. The Influx of Foreign Players and Coaches hasn't enhanced the English Game, it's only Served To Strangle Up Coming English Talent. Something we've discussed in other Topics. Clubs seem to be more than Happy to Pay anywhere from £10 million upwards for a Mediocre Foreign Player, rather than bring on English Talent at a Fraction of the cost. Another reason for this is also a Vast Majority of PL Clubs are also owned by Foreign Business Men, who Prefer to buy their Players from abroad rather than give an English Kid a Run in their First Team. The F.A must also take Their Fair Share Of The Blame, for allowing this to Even Happen In The First Place, But as No One at the FA has the Backbone to Say Enough Is Enough, and Adopt such Ideas that We and other Fans have suggested, then English Talent (Both Player And Coaching Wise) is Bound To Suffer.
  7. OOOPS. Mind you talking about Football Bloopers Didn't Roy Carrol Drop a Right Clanger when he was the Notts Keeper, when he cleared the ball and it Hit the back of a Cambridge Player and it Bounced into the Notts Net? And if I'm Not Mistaken the same thing happened the Following Season against the Same Opposition, but with a Different Keeper in the Notts Goal?
  8. @Chris You Don't Mean You Think @super_ram Is A Robot from the Future Do You ? Destined to Bring the Glory Days Back to Derby? Promotion to the Championship being his First Step?
  9. Right this is my Last Footy Joke (that I remember) Which I Hope I Can Get Away With (Something Billy Connolly said on his First Parkinson Interview) There was this Footballer who was the Leading Goal Scorer in the League he was playing in. Well he had a New Girlfriend, a Very Well Developed Young Lady (shall we say) Anyway they'd been going out for about six months and Nothing had happened in Bed. So one night the Young Lady decides she's going to get things started. Her and the Striker are laying in bed and she starts rubbing his Forehead. My word she says what a Strong Forehead You've got. Yeah, I've scored 15 Goals with my Forehead this season replies the Footballer. Tracing her fingers across his Chest then down to his Left Leg she begins rubbing his Left Leg. My Word what a Strong Left Leg You've Got. Yeah, I've scored 15 Goals with my Left Leg as well says the Footballer. His Girlfriend runs her fingers across his Belly then starts Rubbing his Right Leg. Wow what a Strong Right Leg You've Got. I've Scored 15 Goals with my right leg as well replies the Striker. Getting very Aroused the Young Lady says Tell Me Have You Ever Felt A T*T? Yeah the other Week when I Missed A Penalty.
  10. Speaking of Robots. Have you seen the latest Female Companion Robots coming out of Japan? Jeez they look so Life like and can hold a Conversation with people in Multiple Languages. They are Designed to express different Facial Emotions such as Sympathy when a Human tells them a Sad Story or News and are there to offer Comfort and Understanding. And the cost of these Robotic Dolls (as there called) ? They start at $2,000. The Day of the Terminator Cyborg Moves Ever Closer.
  11. Dear Oh Dear @Robbie I Don't Bolivia. That is So Corny, but it made me Chuckle, because it's so Bad it's Good. I Think @Chris is going to have to add another Emoji to PON, one that says I Don't Believe You Said That, or perhaps Dear Oh Dear.
  12. A Question for our More Mature PON Members. I will Admit this Question was asked on another Platform I'm a part of and, I Think it will be Interesting to ask here as it got a Excellent Response on that Platform. And apologies to our Younger Members for me leaving them out , this One Time. My Question is this. If You had a Time Machine which meant you could Go Back In Time. What piece of advice would you give your 21 year Old Self? As usual with this type of Question, I'll start the Ball Rolling. You shouldn't have Married this One. She's a Wrong Un'.
  13. Can't Fault Your Choices @Robbie. Those three Managers /Coaches have Proven Records on how to Build a Winning Team from Practically Nothing, and have done it for more that just a Single Season. Each's Legacy will be Long Remembered in the History of the Game. And each will be Remembered by the Respective Fans of the Clubs which they have taken to Football Glory. They will also Share a Huge Satisfaction with their Career Records and Know that through Blood Sweat and Tears, they have lifted the Players they have Managed, making Poor Players, into Good Players, Good Players into Great Players and Great Players into Star Players. A True Fulfilment of their Footballing Life's Work. Unlike the Empty and Stale Feeling Head Coaches like Pep Guardiola will have Deep Down Knowing that all their Success was Handed to Them on a Plate. There will be other English/British Coaches who will achieve the Same Dizzying Heights in their Coaching Careers and Still the F.A. Choose a Foreigner to Lead the National Side.
  14. Yes Absolutely @Robbie, Robins is what you can call a Real Coach and his Achievements over the Past few seasons have been Nothing Short of Phenomenal. He Looked as if he may have turned things round winning 2 of his Last 3 Matches. Reading Comments from Coventry Fans it Seems Robins had a Falling Out with the Coventry Owner Doug King regarding a Certain player and Like any Childish Brat Owner King Spat his Dummy Out and Sacked the Guy, because of his Bruised Ego.
  15. Don't you Just Want Coventry To Fail? A Bit Harsh I Know, But Wouldn't It Just Serve Them Right ? But as You say @Robbie I Think There's More To This Than Meets The Eye. The Coventry Owners have Gone to the Regular Excuse of the Team is Struggling. Without Giving Robins the Chance to Turn Things Around.
  16. Congrats AJ a well deserved honour playing for Your Country. The worst things about the Situation is Missing Important Notts Matches, being Named in the Gambian Squad, but ending up Not Playing in any of the Matches. I will ask a Question though What would Happen if AJ turned down the offer to play for his Country, preferring to Play for Notts? Would he find himself Banned from playing for the Magpies or would he be fined, Or Both? If Memory Serves, didn't Macca pull out of the England C Squad on one occasion Preferring to turn out for the Magpies instead?
  17. @Fan of Big Tone I always go onto the Dashboard I never thought about the Unread Posts, I thought that was something Different. So once I've read something it disappears from my Screen , if I read it from Unread Posts? If that's the case I'll stick with the Dashboard as I Like to Check up on New Comments and Views which may come along, as I've had a couple of Topics read and Commented on quite a few weeks after I wrote them. How Do you un feature something? I'd like to know because if any Topic of mine which Bombs, I can get rid of it so it wont be taking up space on the Site.
  18. @Robbie To Be Honest It wouldn't Hurt. Think what Sort of Headlines that would make and the Expectation of the Fans, and Macca returning to the Lane, the Place where all his Fame really began. I Think he'd Slot back in as if he'd Never Been Away and the Goals would come, because he knows Notts Style of Play and the team Knows his Strengths and would play to them and he'd Get His Belief Back, after all you Don't become a Bad Player over night. But how many times over the Years have you seen a Goal Scorer from the lower leagues get Sold to a Team higher up the Football Pyramid only to fail to capture his Goal Scoring Form higher up? Derek Hales comes to Mind, Hales who went from Charlton to Derby comes to mind, were he went from scoring 72 goals for Charlton to a mere 4 for the Rams. Yet on his return to Charlton he added another 76 goals to his total to become Charlton's all time leading Scorer. Could that Scenario also be awaiting Macca, with a Return to the Lane?
  19. As I read through the many different Topics or Threads, or what ever you care to call it, I wonder as a Writer how do you Class your Success on the Pride Of Nottingham Web Site? By that I Mean, do you look at the Amount of Views your Topic gets? Or Maybe the Replies? What do you Base the Success of your Piece on ? Personally I set myself a Moderate Target of a Hundred Views and Three or over Replies to any of my Topics has a Success. Do You Set Yourself A Target? Or Aren't you bothered that Much? Are you just Happy to see your thoughts up on the Screen of your Lap Top or Phone? I Believe that My Best Viewed Post was one regarding the Departure of Jim O'Brien from the Lane, which the last time I Looked (many weeks ago) had over 1,200 Views (small Potatoes compared to some other Topics) But it bought me some satisfaction. Most Replies was my Article about Loan Players Good or Bad? Which received 20 replies. That was My First ever Contribution to PON. Then there's the Topics I've written months Ago and Somebody Views one of them and it comes back to My Attention and I get a Certain Kick out of that, even though there are times I'd Completely Forgotten I'd written it!! And once your Topic has gone from Page One of the PON Site do you keep tabs on it or Do you think, Well that's Finished time to write something else, I Must Confess occasionally I do look for my Older Ramblings, I think the Furthest I've Gone Back is around Page 8, but this is Very Rare, once it's gone from the First page I usually Forget about it. I get My Inspiration from things I read on the Internet then add My Own Thoughts and Write a Piece About it on Here, or I Add my Opinion on the Main News coming Out of the Lane. Such has the Arrival of a New Coach or the Opening of the Nest (I still think, that's a Lousy Name) Fan Zone or the Departure of a Popular Player. One Criticism if I May, Some Topics or Threads I Think stay on the First Page for far to Long. I include my own Piece Has Everything Gone Pear Shape At Manchester City? Which was last Replied to on the 10th of October, I would think some people who see it still sitting there may think. Same Old Same Old and Click off again, if it appears there's Nothing New to Read or Comment On. So once a Topic as been on the Front Page as it were and Not been viewed or commented on, for a certain length of Time, it should be dropped and placed on the Second Page. But for the Most part I enjoy PON and Interacting with fellow Magpie Fans on Everything Notts, Football and other related Topics.
  20. The Following Question has been Raised and I'd like to Know, Which Is It ? To My Fellow PON Members. Over the past Few weeks the Magpies Match Reports on the B.B.C. Website have changed. The Boys in the Black & White Stripes Used to be Called Notts County. However in Match Reports they are Now Simply Referred to as Notts. And it seems that some Magpies Fans are Up in Arms about it. Asking why our Team are Now just Written as Notts and Not Notts County? So Where Do You Stand On The Issue? Dose It Bother You If You're Called A Notts Fan? Do You Call Yourself A Notts Fan? Or should the Magpies be called by their Full Title Notts County? And You Are A Notts County Fan?
  21. LIVE EVERYDAY AS IF IT WAS YOUR LAST BECAUSE ONE DAY, YOU'LL BE RIGHT.
  22. Did You Know @Robbie, I Used To Be Werewolf? Affected by the Full Moon? But I'm Alright NOOOOOOWWW!! Sorry, Couldn't Resist I'll get my Coat.
  23. Very True @Robbie Very True. I Think Didzy as been the Nearest thing to a Leader on the Pitch for Notts this Season.
  24. No I Don't mean Ken Dodd, Jimmy Tarbuck or Arthur Askey. Simply your average Liverpool Football Fan. The Comment section on the Have Your Say section after Liverpool's 4-0 Demolition of German Bundesliga Champions Bayer Leverkusen is full of Funny Witty and Sarcastic Comments. Liverpool are now known as the Slot Machine after New Head Coach Arne Slot. Liverpool could win the Quadruple and there would still be Fans that Moan. But Liverpool haven't Played Any decent team Yet. I'll reserve Judgement on this Liverpool team, until they've played the Teams above them. Xabi touching This Is Anfield Sign. Class is Permanent. A Small Quibble how come 4-1 is a Thrashing and 4-0 is Easing Past Someone. Just a Few comments I Enjoyed . Slot Machine. Corny I know but it made me Smile. Liverpool could Win the Quadruple and there would still be Fans that Moan. I think something along the Lines of Stuart Maynard getting Notts Promoted from League 2 into the Premiership and Winning Trophies both at Home and In Europe some Fans still wouldn't be Satisfied. But Liverpool haven't played any Decent Teams Yet. So the German Champions, who went through their Championship winning season unbeaten aren't a Decent side? I think this Fan was just being Sarcastic? Just a Tad. Reserving Judgement on the Current Liverpool Team until they've played the Teams above them. Top of the Premier League and Champion League Group, another Witty and Sarcastic Remark. Xabi touching This Is Anfield Sign. Class Is Permanent. You'll Get No Argument From Me. I Like to see EX-Players and Coaches pay their Respects to the Fans of their Former Clubs.. Good Question. So why is it 4-1 is a Thrashing, but 4-0 is just Easing Past Someone? The Mystery of the Mind of Some Football Reporters or Pundits. Well from Someone who has sat through a Ken Dodd Laughter Show, for 6 hours and laughed at his opening Joke right till his Last Joke. I'll Say Tatty Bye Everybody.
  25. My Player of the Season So Far? David McGoldrick. Didzy has produce some Excellent Displays on the Pitch and Scored some Vital Goals. I think his Contract ends this Season, and if this is his Swan Song he's certainly going about it the Right Way, that is to leave a Lasting Impression at the Lane, if he can keep up his Present Form until the Season's end he's going to be a serious Candidate to take the Title of Notts Player of the Season.
