  1. To be Honest @Robbie unlike you I'm not sure if they can, the Magpies seem to freeze (no that's the wrong word) show teams in the Top Seven to much Respect, they perhaps come across as lacking a Killer Punch against high Flying Teams, there is something which seems to be Missing in the team's make up something which stops the Magpies getting points from the League's Big Guns and I can't put my Finger on it, to fully explain it in this Comment Section. How many times have we Fans seen Notts just totally out play and out class the opposition and give them a Good Hiding and then think on this Form Notts can beat ANY TEAM in this League? Then suddenly just revert back to an Ordinary run of the Mill Side. The only Conclusion I can come up with is the Fact the Magpies lack Leadership on the Pitch. Yes I know there are players who can Shout and Scream at their Team mates but that's Not the same as a Player who's skill can turn a game around, and Inspire his Team Mates and lift them to take on any opposition and beat them Regardless of their Position in the League.
  2. Thanks Guys I've not taken any offence in any of this, it's just the Frustration of finding a Helpful Message pinned on my screen I know I've got sometimes over five minutes before I can get back onto the site. Even when I come off the site and leave it and go elsewhere on the Internet then return back onto the site I can still spend further frustrating minutes before I'm allowed back on the site, Hence My Request. I'm a total Novice at this Computer business and when someone goes on about certain things such as the Community URL has changed , you may as well be speaking in a Foreign Language for all I understand. Sorry. I know this may be awkward but regarding each forum could you go into Greater detail about what is acceptable in each category. I.E In the Jimmy Sirrel Stand just things about the current happenings at the Lane, or things about Notts in General in Granny Pies General Discussions. That way I'll know which of my topics goes in which Forum and things wont have to be changed and cause me any problems regarding getting back on the site. I've just sent this reply and at first I got on my screen was this Page Does Not Exist. Now it does so I'm able to edit this comment.
  3. I Think even with a Fully Fit Squad Notts would have found Chesterfield a Handful, plus the Game is at their place, if the Magpies can get an early goal then Defend and Frustrate Chesterfield, their Fans will Start getting on their players backs, and this may force them to leave Gaps in their play which Notts could hopefully take advantage of.
  4. May I just ask my fellow PON Members a Favour? Please Do Not change the titles of my Topics or Move my Topics from Granny Pies General Discussion to Jimmy Sirrel Stand etc, Because for some Reason when this happens, my Lap Top gets the Hump about it, and it takes what seems like Forever for me to get back onto the PON Site, despite there being a Dismiss button regarding any messages from fellow Members, It can take several attempts and time to get the Message removed and till it's been removed I can't get back onto the site. So if things are Spelt Wrong or the Topic is in the Wrong Section, Please leave it how and where it is this will then help with my Frustration of Not Being Able to gain access to the PON Website. Thanks WBRM.
  5. As much as I Hate To Say It, but I think Notts will end up losing their Third Match on the Trot. Yes I know that sounds Negative but I think the Injuries to Key Magpie Players is going to have an Massive effect on both the Squad and the Results of upcoming Games. I think the only way to play on Saturday is be Defensive and see if Notts can Nick a Goal. A point at Chesterfield would be an accomplishment, but I can't see it. I Hope I'm Wrong but I think Stuart Maynard better be Prepared for an Hostile Reaction from some parts of the Notts Fandom, particularly if the Defeat is a Heavy One.
  6. As you get older you always seem to Forget things, it's happened to me a few times, Take the other day I couldn't find my Wallet. Wouldn't you know it I'd forgotten My Trousers.
  7. With the 115 Charges still hanging over their Heads Manchester City could face other Major Problems. Firstly Txiki Begiristain (there's name to conjure with) the Man who brought Pep to the Etihad is leaving at the End of this Season. And has Pep's current contract also ends at the end of 2024/2025 it would seem the City Head Coach may also leave along with Begiristain. To either coach at another Club or take a Sabbatical. Free scoring Erling Haaland is also rumoured to be ready to move away from City with Real Madrid wanting the Norway Striker .Rodri who has an season ending injury may also have played his last game for Manchester City, despite the fact his contract at the Etihad runs until 2027. It seems a lot of City's future rests with the Results of the 115 charges against Them finally being investigated the Results of which may not be known before May of Next Year. If found Guilty of the Charges expect a mass Exodus from the Etihad. Would this also include their Current Owners?
  8. No Disrespect to Sam Slocombe, but Notts should have held on to Tiernan Brookes. Yes we have an Excellent Keeper in Bass, but the way Notts Luck with injuries is going I would sooner have had Tiernan as Backup rather than Sam.
  9. @Robbie I would be surprised if he wasn't, this young man has shown he can be a good addition to the First Team Squad, and the way the Notts Injury list is growing, it wouldn't be a surprise if he didn't line up the the Starting XI on a more regular basis.
  10. Ah Yes a certain Mr Russell King. A Con Man Without Equal. If any of my Fellow PON Members are Interested his Story is Told on You tube. Type In Thoughty 2 This Man Scammed The World And Nobody Noticed. I can't put it up on here, because I haven't got a Clue how to Up Load It. Someone Else may be able too? It only lasts a little under 20 minutes and is well worth Watching. The Guy who produced the video as over 5 million subscribers, (so he Knows what he's doing).
  11. I was asked would I be interested in Adopt a Grandparent ? Yeah Sure I replied. Now I've got a 95 Year Old Man On My Hands. I went on line to find my Spirit Animal. The Answer came Back Extinct. My Next Door But One Neighbour Bill has a New Girlfriend , who is a lot Younger than him. He said in the Bedroom one night she Dressed up as Cat Woman and he Dressed up as Batman, then he Confessed it was actually Alfred.
  12. Now Now @super_ram I've said we'll do a Ladies list later on. But I guess you couldn't wait Eh? Mind you which Sister played the Drums, Lead Guitar and Bass? I Can't Remember????
  13. Have Notts improved? The Data says yes. But Data doesn't mean a thing when it all Boils down to it. It's All Down To Points On The Board at the season's end, or the Goals your Team has scored. Possession, Pass accuracy , Headers Won, Tackles Won how many yards or Meters your players cover during a Match, Doesn't Mean A Damn Thing. Those Stats don't Win Championships or get Clubs Promoted, Goals and more points than your opponents is what Does. Stuart Maynard still Frustrates the Hell Out of Fans, one Match it's four at the Back, then it's Three, he continues to Play Players out of Position Prime Example Cedwyn Scott. The Guy is a Striker, his job is to Score Goals, Not Play a Deeper Role. Still plays a Lone Striker. How many Matches over the years and under different Coaches have the Magpies Won with just one Man Up Front? You can understand Why Fans get on Maynard's Back, he seems to get things right and Notts get a Good Result then everything changes and Notts lose or Draw when with a little more thought they could have collected all 3 Points. Sure the Magpies have only lost two matches since the Start of the Season, But Both losses have been at Home and against sides who are considered Promotion Material. That as more than an Hint about Last Season to it. Yes the Injury list at the Lane is a cause for worry, but weren't players signed during the off season to cover for all eventualities? The Injury to Jodi as thrown up the scenario, what the Notts team will be like should he ever leave the Lane. Currently it seems the Magpies would struggle. The Loss of Macca as been a Massive Loss as all us Fans knew it would be, however it was hoped that Jatta and Scott would help compensate the loss, Jatta has scored Goals but as been missed in certain matches, and left all alone up front as seen him struggle, In Example the match against Port Vale. Scott's dilemma I've already touched on. So in My Opinion despite their start to the Season, things need to change at Lane and quickly, otherwise a Season of Mediocrity awaits the Magpies and Stuart Maynard will be in for Another Rough Ride.
  14. Wrexham Manager Phil Parkinson dies and goes to Heaven. He's been up there for a couple of days, when Jesus approaches him. Hey Phil says Jesus, there's a match this coming Saturday, the All Saints XI vs The Arch Angels, and the Angels need a Coach. Do you Fancy the job? Sure replies Phil. Oh wait a minute Macaulay Langstaff isn't up here is he? No. He's still down on Earth playing his Football. Any way I'm managing the All Saints and we're playing in Black & White Stripes while your guys will be in Red Shirts states Jesus. Well Saturday comes and Phil's Angels are Crushing it, 80 minutes on the Clock and the Arch Angels are 4-0 up, then Jesus makes a Substitution and player comes on to the Pitch in his Black & White Shirt with the number 9 on the back. He seems vaguely familiar to Phil. Anyway the number 9 plays Amazing Football and scores 5 goals and at the Final Whistle, the All Saints have won 5-4. Old Phil can't believe it, then it Dawn's on him the All Saints number 9 is Macaulay Langstaff. So of he goes to find Jesus . Oi shouts Phil I thought you said Macca was down on Earth playing his Football? And so he is replies Jesus. Oh Yeah What about your Number 9 then? Jesus smiles and says Oh That's God. He Just thinks He's Macaulay Langstaff.
  15. @BiggestPieInGlasgow There is No Doubt that Chicksen did have an outstanding season under Luke Williams Leadership and was a Big Help getting the Magpies back into the Football League, but in the Higher League he seems to have struggled. He'll probably be more Comfortable in the National League.
  16. From what I can gather reading all the Comments on here and other HYS sections, this match was full of What If's . Like what If Notts had scored in the Opening 20 minutes, What If Notts had tested the Port Vale Keeper more, What If Dan Crowley played further Forward. Well they Didn't in Answer to the First two Questions and He Didn't in Answer to the third. I Believe the Magpies had 70% of the ball during the game, that doesn't Matter come the Final Whistle Port Vale had a Goal to their Name and Notts Didn't, so they get the Three Points. If their Goal was Offside (obviously the Ref didn't think so) that's why he gave it, we can sit here and Debate the Match, but whatever we say or write isn't Going To Change The Match Result. We just have to Hope Lessons have been Learned. Such has Notts need to play Four At The Back, Dan Crowley needs to push up and Not play so Deep and Jatta needs support and Not just be left on his own to toil Up Front.
  17. My Next Door Neighbour Bill was telling Me, being his age (77) Does have it's benefits. When he gets on a Crowded bus, a younger person will give him their seat. Which Bill thinks is Great. But a Little Creepy in the Men's Toilet.
  18. I would think Stuart Maynard may put out a side more or less the same which played at Burton. Give some of the Academy Lads a run out, because the way Notts injury list is Starting to Look one or two of these young Guys may find them on the First Team Bench or even lining up in the First XI.
  19. Teaming up with Former Notts Captain Michael Doyle, could be a Good Move for Adam Chicksen and regular game time will hopefully be a Benefit to him. If he does well I can see him possibly making the Move Permanent come the Seasons End Because like Junior he certainly seems to have fallen out of Favour at the Lane. Then again several Fans I've spoken to believe, that the National League is Chicksen's Level.
  20. BEWARE of all the Negatives for this Match from So Called Fans. Maynard doesn't know what he's doing. That's two Top Teams Notts have Failed To Beat Etc Etc Regardless of the Magpies Injury Problems which seems to be Turning In To A Crisis. I believe a Vast Majority of the Notts Faithful will Stick with the Team. It would seem Notts are in Desperate need of a New Striker, can Junior be called Back, or is he definitely out on Loan till January with No Call Back? Because of the Worrying form of Cedwyn Scott, who still hasn't opened his Goal Scoring Account. Like Macca at Millwall Ceds just needs that first Goal and hopefully will be able to Kick On From there.
  21. @Robbie A Fellow Heavy Rock Fan Eh? I was certainly into most of the Bands you have Mentioned. Deep Purple, Black Sabbath where's we have to acknowledge both Ozzy and Toni Iommi. Come to think of it Bill Ward wasn't to Bad on Drums either. Free, Jethro Tull Ian Anderson best Flutist, I also a Big Fan of an American Rock Band called Mountain, with Les West on Lead Guitar and Felix Papalardi on Bass. Another favourite of Mine was Dutch Group Focus. Their Lead Singer Thijs Van Leer also had an Interesting vocal range and Lead Guitarist Jan Ackerman was also Impressive. Purple's Ian Gillan Great vocalist, he rendition of Sweet Child In Time from Deep Purple in Rock Album well just listen to it. Uriah Heep wasn't a Band I listened much to, but I enjoyed their single The Wizard I think it was called, or was it The Magician's Birthday or am I Totally on the wrong Track here? Cream wasn't a Band I was really into, but there are a few of their songs I enjoyed. The Marmalade track Reflections of My Life, Superb. Perhaps I should make a List of Favourite songs from each Group I Liked. Mind You, that would probably just Go On and on and on....etc. @Fan of Big Tone To Be Honest Mate, I Haven't Got A Clue.????
  22. Putting Football Aside For The Moment. Another one of my Interests is Music. Being born in the Late 50's, my teenage years were the 1970's and it's that Era which shaped my Music Listening. So I Thought I will Share with you, who in my opinion are the Greatest Lead Guitarist, Drummer, Bassist and Vocalist from the 70's onward. Lead Guitarist Jimi Hendrix. The Greatest without a Shadow of a Doubt, no one before or since has been able to touch Jimi playing an Electric Guitar. Drummer John Bonham (Led Zeppelin) Bonzo had a Unique style and Incredible Talent. Bassist Lemmy (Motorhead) Along with his Bass playing his Gravely Vocals gave his Band a Unique Sound. Vocalist This for me was my most difficult decision. Robert Plant (Led Zeppelin) Eric Burdon (The Animals) Freddie Mercury (Queen) all have or had an Incredible Vocal range, but just Shading the Top Spot for me is Iron Maiden's Bruce Dickinson, who's vocal range can change in an Instant and has helped push Maiden to the Heights of Music Immortality. So Who Are Your Favourites in the Categories, I've Mentioned? We can do a Female list another Time.
