  1. With the Departure of the Man who took him to Manchester City and Pep Guardiola's Contract with City coming to an End in June Next Year, City's Brazilian Goalkeeper Ederson seems to have the Drop on everybody else, stating the Club already have Coaches Lined up to take over Pep's position should he depart the Etihad. Ruben Amorin, Xabi Alonso and Roberto De Zerbi are the Men in Question. So Not Unlike the England Job and the appointment of Thomas Tuchel it would seem that the Current English Premier League Champions are Ignoring any English Coach for their Head Coach's Position. Rumor has it that Pep is going to be offered around the £18 Million mark to extend his Contract at City. And it is Now being Stated he Did Want the England Job, but Dithered about and Missed the FA's Deadline to come up with a Definite Answer, so the Position went to Ex-Bayern Boss Tuchel. Which to Me Seems Strange, because if the FA Wanted Guardiola that Badly surely they would have Given Him as Much Time as He Wanted? I would come Down on the Side of Pep Wanted To Much Money, and the FA merely Couldn't Afford Him. So What Now For Pep? Does he Remain at City and Rake in the Millions? Will he take a Year's Sabbatical? Or Go On and become the Head Coach of An International Side, the Only Real Challenge he has left in his Football Career? Winning A Major Trophy As The Head Coach Of A National Side.
  2. If Somebody doesn't Agree or Like What I Say, Well That's Fare Enough. It certainly doesn't bother me whether they answer my Comment with a Like, a Heart, or any of the other Emoji's which are available, or don't pass Comment at All. It would also seem that we may have drifted Slightly Off Topic Regarding a Down Vote Button, which is the Question I originally asked and Why there isn't one on PON? My Argument for one seems to have moved the Debate in a Different Direction and by all sense and purpose PON Members Don't think there is a need for One. Which is Fair Enough and I accept the Majority Decision with Good Grace.
  3. @Robbie To be Honest I Never thought Ruben wanted to be at the Lane, watching his Old Interviews he always gave me the Impression he was using Notts as a Window to Display His Talents in hope that a Club, further Up the Footballing Pyramid would come in for him. Which Oxford did at the end of the Season and Ruben just up Sticks and went, his Attitude always left a Sour Taste in My Mouth, I thought he Treated Notts Appallingly. As soon as he Refused to sign a New Deal with the Magpies, that December He Should Have Been Placed On The Transfer List.
  4. @Robbie This May Sound Harsh But If Dan Crowley Doesn't Sign A New Contract, By Christmas I Think Notts Should Offer Him For Sale, Because I'm In Full Agreement With You Notts Have Let Two Many Players Go On A Free In Recent Seasons. Ruben Was The Last. He Wouldn't Sign The Contract Notts Offered Him Before His Last Transfer Window, Before He Went To Oxford, When He Refused To Sign I Would Have Placed Him Straight On The Transfer List. It Should Be Like That No Matter Who The Player Is, Because It's Obvious That Player Doesn't Want To Be A Notts Player.
  5. @Fan of Big Tone I have Never Had any Personal Messages of Abuse Aimed at Me. No My Gripe is with People Who Continue to Show Disrespect to Members who offer their Opinions and who seem (to me at Least) to go out of their way to Disagree with the Members Comments on Purpose. That of Course is all down to the way people see things what seems to be Disrespect to Me, May Not Appear to be Disrespect to you, and even the Poster of the Comment may Not Consider It Disrespectful ,just another Members Opinion, but with the Placing of a Down Vote Button and it's use May give that Person Pause For Thought Before Continuing Their Negative Repeated Comments.
  6. @Robbie I Think Notts are Going to have to Go for a New Striker. Which is going to be a Hell of a Ask, as in January a Proven Goal Scorer is as Rare as Hen's Teeth. Will Junior be Recalled back into the Notts Fold ? It's Possible or maybe a Young Premier League Striker will be Drafted in, In the Hope that they ca hit the ground Running and Hit the Back of The Net on a Regular Basis. On the Striker Front I think Notts will have a Fight to Hold onto Jatta and even if they do I think he'll move on during the Off Season. And by the time the Transfer Window opens will Cedwyn Scott be available for Selection? The Return of Jodi will hopefully be a Massive Boost to the Magpies Promotion Push, but Don't Expect Miracles from the Guy. I think the Notts Injury List Will Eventually take it's Toll on the Clubs Resources and We Fans may have to watch the Team Struggle and the Magpies seem due for another season in League 2 Next Season. I hope I'm Wrong because Hopes were High at the Start of the season for a Promotion Push, but the Notts Injury list could see an End To That.
  7. @Fan of Big Tone Oh There is Believe Me.
  8. @Robbie Thanks for This I've Just written about it in a Topic I've just Done. Tuchel Was It A Done Deal?
  9. Apparently the Top of the FA's Wish List to become the Next England Manager was (Drum Roll) Surprise Surprise Pep Guardiola. Who was Sounded Out for the Post by the FA in the Off Season. Pep danced around the Media's Questions Regarding the Job so it would Appear the FA Couldn't Afford him. So Tuchel who Stated he would leave Bayern Munich at the End of Last Season became the New Favourite. Because after he left the German side he was Linked to other Jobs such has Manchester United and Even a Return to Chelsea and practically Every Top Coaching Position which was available. None of Which Came About. So was Tuchel Already Lined Up to Lead the England Team after Gareth Southgate's Resignation? Some Evidence that will Back that Up, is the Fact the FA Supposedly Interviewed at least 10 Coaches for the Role, but None of The English Coaches who were Ideal for the Job were approached or Spoken to about becoming the Next England Manager. Eddie Howe ( a lot of Fans Favourite) Sean Dyche Graham Potter, Frank Lampard, Gary O'Neil, Steve Cooper and Russell Martin None were Interviewed, so it would Seem Guardiola, Tuchel and Lee Carsley were the Three left on the FA's Short List. Then Both Guardiola and Carsley fell by the Wayside which left Tuchel Has the Only Choice. So That It Would Seem Is How A German, Became The Head Coach Of The Three Lions.
  10. Cheers @Robbie It's Kind Of You To Say. It would seem that Most Fans in these Comments are Not In Favour of a Down Vote Button, which is Fair Enough. However Personally I Think there are Reasons for One. But I Guess I'm in the Minority. One of the Main Reasons I'd like to see a Down Vote Button is the Fact that Certain PON Members Show A Total Lack of Respect for Others on this Platform. No Matter what's said There are Members who will disagree has they seem to Get Some Kind of Kick to Winding Up Their Fellow Members, and a Down Vote Button would certainly Show which Members are trying to Destroy the Harmony within the Site. Even if One was Introduced I Don't think it would be used a Lot, but it would Certainly be better than Somebody Losing Their Cool and Send Insulting Messages to a Fellow Member and Receiving an Insulting Message back. Then the Battle Lines would be Drawn with one set of Members siding with one Member, while others will Side with the Other Member. And that Could Happen Because People Will only Be Pushed So Far, Then BOOM All Hell Breaks Loose. I Have My Own Method of Dealing My Anger and That Is I Step Away from the Site for a Couple of Days or I Simply Don't Engage With That Member, Ignoring What they Say When I See Their Name In My Reaction Box. But Thanks To All Members Who Have Expressed Their Opinion. Even If You're All Wrong and I'm The Only One Who Is Right. PS What About Having The Ability To Block A Member From Reading Your Topics? To Much? Maybe.
  11. @CliftonMagpie Absolutely. Unfortunately I would think like Most Men Ceds would have thought his Problems were Something he had to Cope with alone, after all he's a Bloke and Men Don't have Problems That is A Sign of Weakness and Men Don't like Showing their Weakness, So they Hide It. Most Male PON Members have gone through something like this themselves. Ignore It and It'll Go Away, whether it's Going to the Doctors or the Dentist or Whatever. Thankfully ( and I use the Term Loosely ) something May have Happened to Ceds while he was with Family or Friends and It Suddenly Clicked and he Realized He Didn't like the Person he was becoming, something like that became his Eurika Moment and He Knew He Needed Help. Thankfully there are Experts that Can and Will Help Him.
  12. @Fan of Big Tone I was just Interested in Why there was No Down Vote Button. The Reason Why I don't write Down My Disagreement with PON Members I Don't Agree With Is even if I put forward my Disagreement with them, in a Calm and Respectful Manner, it Strikes Me there are Certain Members on this Platform that Just Disagree with Me and Other Members Just for the Hell of It. They Come across across as they'll Agree With You Providing You Agree with their Agender But should you show any Slight difference of Opinion, they Come Back with Further Disagreement, Even If You Provide Facts. Unfortunately that is the Way of The World Nowadays. And I just thought a Down Vote Button that can be hit Anonymously could be A Way of Displaying your Disagreement without getting into an Online Argument, which wouldn't be beneficial to Either of the Two Members Arguing Nor the PON Site As A Whole. Even @Chris or any PON team Member comes back to me and Says We Don't think a Down Vote Button is a Good Idea, Then Fair Enough it's just the Opinion is available in Other Places, I just wondered Why Not PON? Regarding Not Being able to send Messages to the PON Team that might be a Left over thing from My Laptop Playing Up On Another Occasion. Originally I was going to ask a Team Member the Reason Why there wasn't a Down Vote Privately, because I thought it maybe a Controversial Question, then after I couldn't get any answer, I decided to Ask the Question Anyway.
  13. After several Attempts to get in Touch with the PON Team only to be Told that they weren't able to My Receive My Message, I've decided to ask my Question in Granny Pies General Discussion Section here on the PON Website. My Question is, Why isn't there a Down Vote of Dislike Button on the PON Website? After All We're All Grown Ups and I'm sure a Down Vote or Dislike against on Your Comment on a Certain Debate, isn't the End Of The World. I'm sure Fans on here a Big Enough To Accept the Fact, that Other Members Don't Agree with them on All Subjects, the Nearest thing to a Down Vote is a Sad Emoji which Doesn't Really Cover Everything. There Must be a way a Member can Down Vote Something, But Not have their Name Attached, in case there's a Worry it make start an Argument between Members. Personally If I Don't Agree with What's Been Said by a Certain Member at the Moment I Simply Ignore that Comment and Don't Engage With Them. But I would like the Opportunity To Register My Disagreement. It certainly Wouldn't Bother Me, If Another Member Disagreed with Me, As I Feel It Would Make The Debate More Open. Or is this Considered to Controversial ? Or Is it Simply Not The Done Thing? Or It's Been Tried Before and Stirred Up To Much Hassle Between Certain Members? I Would Genuinely Like To Know. And Are There Any Other Members Who Would Like A Down Vote Button? Thanks.
  14. All The Very Best Cedwyn. Not really Surprised the Poor Guy has Struggled to get his Career back on Track after the Injury he suffered, and Playing a Different Role which he's found difficult to Adapt too hasn't helped with his Recovery, there will be all kinds of things going through his Mind and Questions he'll be asking himself. Thankfully there is Help for Modern Footballers from Experts. Where in the Past a Player may have resorted to Alcohol or Even Drugs, these Days hopefully Ceds will Get The Expert Advice he needs to Regain His Confidence and He Will Be Able To Come Back Mentally Stronger and Produce the Performances in a Black & White Shirt We All Know He's Capable Of. Good Luck Fella, Notts Fans Have Got Your Back.
  15. Another Point Regarding the Departure of Big Sam from the Lane, was the Fact his Wife Wanted to Return to the North. Yes He Could Have Gone About Leaving The Lane In A Better Way , But We're All Human And All Make Mistakes, and If You Have A Happy Wife You'll Have A Happy Life, After All Big Sam wasn't Married To The Club.
  16. @liampie I Think I'd Be Disappointed If I Had Lost A Job Which Paid Me £2 million A Year.
  17. I've said it else Where and I'll Say It Here. The Reason Why No English Coach has been Selected from outside the Premier League is the FA's Snobbery. They are of the Opinion that If an English Coach hasn't Coached in the Premiership ,then that Excludes him From Coaching the England Side. There are plenty of English Coaches, who coach outside the Premier League who could do a Very Good Job Coaching the National Side. As it's been Stated the England Team need to be Molded in to a Team NOT A Bunch of Individuals. But because of the FA's Poor attitude and Poor Choices of Yes Men in the Past England have gotten Nowhere in Winning a Major Tournament, because as the Saying Goes' YOU GET NOW'T FOR COMING SECOND.
  18. Correct Me If I'm Wrong. But Wasn't Neal Ardley In Charge At the Lane When Notts Were Relegated To The National League And Not Kevin Nolan? This Boring Tippy Tappy Type of Football only had any Real Effect under Luke Williams, who made it Work Due To his Excellent Man Management Skills, but even at the End of his Tenure it was Starting to Unravel. Ian Burchnall had tried to implement something along Similar Lines, it got Notts into Playoffs but No Further. Burchnall Failed Miserably at Forest Green after leaving the Lane, with those Tactics. Isn't also Strange that when Some Clubs are in Dire Need to Be Saved From Relegation, They Turn To Managers Such Has Big Sam And Neil Warnock And More Times Than Not, The So Called Dinosaurs Save Them From Going Down, Playing Their Tactics. Strange That.
  19. Of Course he's Right @Robbie. Modern Day Football is Brainwashed So is the FA and a Large Number of Fans. Who Can't get it into their Heads that their Attitude will bring about the Death Knell of the Game We follow, all that Will Happen is Big Sam will be slammed as a Dinosaur who Doesn't understand the "Modern Game" and Big Sam's probably Forgotten More About Football, the his Distractors will Ever Know.
  20. @Robbie Manchester United Can't Pay Him what England are supposedly Doing £5 Million A Year. That sort of Money wouldn't Reflect back Very Well on Jim Ratcliffe, after all the Cuts He's Making At Old Trafford.
  21. @Robbie That's Just It. They Coach In The Lower Leagues. It's The Snobbery At The FA, How Could Anyone From The Lower Leagues Possibly Coach The England Team ? You and I Both Know there are Plenty Who Could Coach England in Other Leagues, but the Leagues Outside of the Premier League DO NOT EXSIST ACCORDING TO THE FA.
  22. @Robbie Harry Redknapp has got it Spot On. Make the English Players Proud to wear the Shirt, make them Believe in themselves and they're playing for the Greatest Country in the World. That Is So True. A Foreign Coach Can Not Do That and That's Just One Problem Tuchel Will Face and He Can Expect Many More. There are Many Excellent English Coaches Not Coaching In The Premier League, but as Harry Stated, to Be the England Manager/ Head Coach the FA Seem To Think Only Someone Who's Coached in the Premiership Is Capable Of Doing The Job. Which Of Course Is Totally Untrue.
  23. It will be a Tough Match for the Magpies on Saturday. In My Opinion Stuart Maynard has to keep his eye on the Wimbledon Coach. Great Uncle Bulgaria who's wisdom and plotting will have a tough Game Plan to try and Combat the Notts Attacking force of Jatta and Didzy. Tobermory a handyman type of Player who can make things happen and Change things around Quickly. Orinoco could be a Player Notts could take advantage of, particularly when he decides to have a Quick 40 Winks. Wellington a Quiet Player who can suddenly burst into action, could prove to be a Handful. Tomsk An Old Fashion Center Forward Big Brave and Tough, could cause the Notts Defense all Kinds of Problems. Especially From Dead Ball Situations. Bungo A No Nonsense Captain and Leader. Madame Cholet. The Teams Nutritional Guru, who is Bound to have the Wimbledon Players in Tip Top Condition. Stuart Maynard and his Staff Must Also Be Aware of the the Line in the Wimbledon Song. Defenses They Don't Notice Us, They Never See Under Their Noses A Womble May Be. I Take The Magpies To Win By The Odd Goal.
  24. Oh Dear Oh Dear Oh Dear. Poor Choice it Doesn't Matter what the Guy has done at Club Level, being a National Side Coach is a whole Different Ball Game. And Coaching the England Team and Being German is Going to throw up a load of Unique Problems, some of which I've touched on, on here. If like it's been stated Tuchel isn't a Yes Man, then he's Not Going to last long with the FA, plus the Fact one of his Major Problems at Chelsea was he couldn't Handle Prima Donna Players, then he's going to have his work cut with some of England's so called Stars. Eddie Howe should have been Chosen. It's a Dark Day when an Englishman isn't picked to lead his Country. Sean Dyche is another Manager who like Howe had taken an unfancied Team (in his case Burnley) up into the Heady Heights of the Premier League and like Howe Knows how to Mold Players Together and Get Them Playing As A Team, something the Present England Team are in Dire Need Of. I await the Media Headlines when Tuchel's England Team Suffer It's First Defeat.
