  1. @Chris You know that's Going to Happen, all Major Tennis Tournaments covered by the B.B.C. Mr Murray is going to be either a Pundit or even a Commentator, and Get Paid Vast amounts of Money , just like the Hated Mr Lineker. And You can Bet Just as Equally Annoying, by expressing his opinion On Things Other Than Tennis. If the Beeb don't Get Him, You Can Bet Your Last Pound Sterling Sky Sports Will.
  2. Apparently the Premier League have fined Manchester City £2.09 million because in 22 matches they were late coming out for the Second Half. Really!! I Mean Really? I know Man City are possibly the Most Hated Team in the Premiership with other Fans but to fine them over £2 Million Pounds is Utter and Complete Garbage, because they breached Premier League Rules With Out Good Reason. Ok Fine the Club but lets keep things in perspective. Now that this as Happened should other Clubs also break this Rule they are going to have be Fined the Same amount. Can you imagine the chaos this could cause if one of the Lower Premier League Clubs were handed a £2 Million Pound Fine? And what if this sort of Rule was Adopted throughout The EFL ? Clubs wouldn't be Fined as Much but Imagine the Damage that would be Done to a Club, if they were Fined between £100,000 and £300,000 for the same sort of infringement, it would probably Result in Some Clubs Going To The Wall. I Know the Premier League make Rules up as they Go Along but by what right do they have to inflict this kind of a Fine on a Club? I hope Man City fight this, because if They Don't the Fall of English Football will take One Step Nearer. And Finally Pep's answer to All This? I'll Make My Team Talks Shorter. Yeh Way To Go Pep. THOUGHTS?
  3. The Reason for me asking these questions was that around the time of the Early Bird Season tickets going on sale a lot of Fans seemed to think that Macca leaving would have an effect on the Ticket Sales. It as always been my thought that No Player is Bigger than the Club, Regardless of his Popularity. There is also shall we say Sadness amongst Fans seeing the Coach and Players who brought Notts last Major Trophy to Meadow Lane ( the National League Playoff Trophy) leaving and finding pastures New or Retiring and going into Coaching. But for all the Glory those people brought to Notts, the Club goes on New Players and Hero's emerge for the Fans to support , and they in Turn will Leave or Retire but the Circle of Life at the Club continues.
  4. @Robbie A Great player but I think he should have Retired before Now. Didn't he have a Serious Back Injury or some such injury. I thought he should have Retired then, because he had Nothing To Prove. He along with his brother was one of the Children who survived the Dunblane Massacre. To go through that Horror and Achieve what he has, is Truly an Amazing Achievement . Well Done Andy. On a Happier Note he and his wife were in the Audience of Mock The Week and the Panel took the Rip out of him, and it was very Funny and Andy took all the Ribbing in Good Humour. The episode is on You Tube and well worth the Watch, if you haven't seen it or a second look if you have. Britain's Best Ever Sports Man? Wow you do like to ask the Hard Questions Fella. I'll give it some thought and get Back to You.
  5. Yes I Know Macca's gone and different Topics have been written about him. And an Awful Lot By Yours Truly. Just a Couple of more Questions Do you think that if Notts Fans had known Macca was being Sold say around the Time he was appointed as Club Captain, his departure would have had any Real Effect on Season Ticket Sales? And If You Knew Macca was going to Leave Before You Bought Your Season Ticket . Would You have Still bought Your Season Ticket, or would You Have Not Bothered?
  6. @Robbie I've Not Heard or Read anything else about Snus, there's been No update from any Main Stream Media (as I've seen anyway) My Original Thread on this Topic is currently on Page 17 of the PON Website. One of Snus main problems is it increases the Risk Of Heart Problems !! Make you think doesn't it? Also could it part of the Reason why Players Suddenly Feel Tired? Whatever it is Snus needs looking into by the F.A. and Banning, or Football could end up having a lot more Young Fit Players Suddenly Collapsing on the Pitch, Heaven Forbid.
  7. @Robbie Strange isn't it, You know how Notts should Play, I know how Notts should Play. So If Stuart Maynard gets the sack, You Apply for the Head Coach Position and I'll Be Your Assistant, What Do You Reckon?????
  8. A Couple of Months ago (it may have been longer) I wrote a Topic on Snus a Nicotine type substance a lot of players have become Addicted to, which slowly dissolves under the tongue and heightens a players awareness and helps them Relax after a Tough Match. Have any Medical Doctors checked for Snus addiction in the Players who have started having Heart Problems and could this Drug cause or be part of the Problems more Players are suffering with their Heart?
  9. @Robbie It True what Carlton Pie says neither Jodi Jones Nor Aaron Nemane are Not Defenders. Aaron is No Bigger than a Pile of Coppers so he ain't gonna out jump a Six Foot Plus Striker. Jodi is only slightly built and Can't Out Muscle a Big Centre Forward. The Lad is Built for Speed and Trickery . There should be Enough Defenders to Do that job so Neither Jodi or Aaron need to come back and Defend. But the "Model" System ( How I've Grown To Hate That Word) must be played. Tippy Tappy build Up From The Back. Get to the Opponents 18 yard Box then pass it all the way back to the Notts Keeper. When will Stuart Maynard realize the System's Wrong? When he loses his Job. When will Richard Montague realize the System's wrong? When Notts are fighting a Relegation Battle. Then Again Montague Strikes Me As Someone Who Thinks He Can Do No Wrong. Until a Coach comes in (or Stuart Maynard sees the Light) and Stands Up and Says No the Magpies Aren't Playing This Way and things change it would seem our Favourite Team are going to be in for a Season of Struggle. I'm More Than Happy To Be Proven Wrong.
  10. @Robbie To be Honest I thought it was a load of Bunkum. Then you read about West Ham wanting to buy a Leeds Striker, then you think, Hey there might be some truth in it. As I've said before did Millwall get their Bid in before Leeds? Or did Leeds think the West Ham interest was just that? So thought no more about it, but when they realised the Hammers wanted to buy Summerville, Macca had already been Snapped up by Millwall so Leeds had to strike up some kind of deal with the Lions, which will Eventually See Macca move to Elland Road.? It is of course What If's or Maybe's there's No Way To Tell if It's just a Rumour or in fact there's some Actual Truth In the Rumour, it will All Come Out Eventually, One Way Or Another.
  11. There was this couple who were going to a Friends Fancy Dress Party. Suddenly their Car breaks down. The Husband can't fix it and he says to his wife, I'm going to lock the Car and leave it here till morning and get the AA out so they can sort it. How are we going to get to Ian and Brenda's ? asks his wife. Look says the Husband. You can see their house from here. Pointing to their Friends Big House which can be seen across a Field. We can put our costume on and walk across the Field to Ian and Brenda's. So they put on their costume a Pantomime Cow. The Husbands at the front while the Wife is the back end. Anyway half way across the Field, they hear a Bellow. Oh No says the Wife. It's the Bull. What are we going to do? Well replies her Husband, I Going To Pretend To Eat Grass. I Think You should Brace Yourself.
  12. Here's an update on this Rumour . Might be Something Might be Nothing. West Ham are about to sign Leeds Dutch Striker Crysencio Summerville. Is this who Macca will eventually replace at Leeds if this Rumour is True?
  13. There's this Doctor walking around a Maternity Ward he goes to the first bed. Morning Mrs Thompson. I see your Baby's due on August the 15th. What do you want a Boy or Girl. I'm Not bothered Doctor just as long as it's Healthy. Doctor goes to the Next Bed Morning Mrs James. Oh I see your Baby is also due on August the 15th. And what are you hoping for? I'd like a little Girl Doctor because we've already got a Little Lad. Onto the Third Bed goes the Doctor Morning Mrs Connelly. I don't believe this your Baby is also due on August the 15th. Looks like I'm going to be busy. Boy or a Girl? I'm Not really bothered Doctor. Next Bed Along. Morning Mrs Reeves. Oh I see your Baby isn't due until the 19th of August. That's Right Doctor I Didn't Go On The Same Coach Trip The Others Went On.
  14. Naming only Four Notts Legends is Difficult. I think a Fairer idea would be a Players Mount Rushmore and a Managers Mount Rushmore. Here's An Idea. Never Mind The Seven Wonders Of The World. How About The Seven Wonders of Notts? Managers Mount Rushmore Jimmy Sirrel Jack Wheeler Sam Allardyce Neil Warnock. Players Mount Rushmore Tommy Lawton Les Bradd Don Masson Albert Iremonger. Special Mentions Brian Kilcline Lee Hughes and Macauley Langstaff a Bust done of Each along with Derek Pavis and Colin Slater. I Don't Know about a Notts Mount Rushmore. More Like A Mountain Range.
  15. I remember this programme on the B.B.C. When Robert Robinson was in charge, I think it was only open to Posh Families. But Oh How The Mighty Have Fallen. Presented by Dick and Dom, who were about as Entertaining as Root Canal Work They Had a Combined I.Q Slightly Higher that a Rabbit Dropping and thought Going Round Shouting BOGGIES Was Funny. Give Me Strength.
  16. Stay Well Away Caley. Another Yank Who Thinks He Knows It All And I Bet He Hasn't Got A Clue About Soccer As The Folks Over The Pond Call It.
  17. There's a Big Sign over Heaven's Gate. All Men Who Have Been Dominated By Their Wives Stand Here. There's A Que a Mile long. Along side the First gate there's another Gate, with a sign over it. All Men Who Haven't Been Dominated By Their Wives Stand Here. There's One Skinny Nervous Looking Chap Standing There. Saint Peter walks past and says what are you doing there? The Skinny Chap Looks at him and says, The Wife Told Me To Stand Here.
  18. What line up should Stuart Maynard Go For? Simple The Strongest Possible, the 11 he intends to play at Tranmere, against the Best Posh have to offer.
  19. Preseason Friendlies are to build up a Players fitness, time for New Players to get settled into their New Environment and for the Head Coach to get an idea of the players he'll start in his First XI once the League Season Starts and by Winning Games to Install Confidence and a Positive Attitude. Leaking Goals was a Major Problem last season and new Defenders have been brought in to Stop the Rot. And yet 7 goals conceded in the Last 3 Matches alone Is A Major Concern. So perhaps the Fault doesn't lie with the Defence more of the way Notts play. I don't know how many more times Fans are going to have to say this, until Richard Montague and Stuart Maynard Realize it. THE NOTTS TIPPY TAPPY FOOTBALL "MODEL" DOES NOT WORK. I would say a Majority of Players Don't like it as it goes against the way they normally play and New Players are struggling to Adapt. Stuart Maynard does Not have very good Man Management skills. However left to his own devices he May be able to Find a Winning Formula. But I think there is to much Interference from other Quarters that Stops him doing his Job Properly. And for Fans not overly concerned with the Preseason Results, if memory serves, the Preseason before Notts were Promoted back into the EFL, the Magpies Didn't lose a Match. Therefore Winning becomes a Habit and a Team will carry that Winning Attitude Into The New Season.
  20. Really what an awful Performance. For a Team that's strengthened defensively with the hope for Pushing for Promotion to League 1 and they can't even beat a Non League side. Just What The Hell Is Maynard Up To? Does He Enjoy Putting Himself Under Pressure? Heaven Help Notts on this Performance against Peterborough they'll Rip the Magpies Apart. And don't go on about it's a Friendly and it doesn't count. That's as Maybe But Winning any kind of Match Breeds Confidence through out the Squad. And if the Magpies get a Thumping at Peterborough Well it won't belong Before in some quarters before the Knives are being Sharpened Ready For Maynard.
  21. @Chris Regarding the Paddle Centre, I didn't know it was a busy place I've never come across any Advertisement for it and as I live a Good Distance from Meadow Lane I've never seen it being used, in fact the only thing I've seen about it was when a Reporter Interviewed Macca on one of the Courts. As for the Nest I had no clue about the Fan Zone not costing the Club money when it's closed. As I've said before it would have been Helpful if the Club put a complete run down of the Events going on at the Nest on the Official Website. All I recall was Joe Palmer stating that the Nest should be finished by the Euro's came round, and the Pictures and uploads from the Fans on PON during the Tournament.
  22. As the New Season approaches in the Wheelbarrow Repairman's house hold our thoughts has a Family turn towards all things Notts County Things which we talk about around the dinner table. Here are a few subjects that have come up, and I wondered what Notts interactions come up at Fellow PON members meal times, regarding the Goings on at The Lane. My Youngest Son isn't a Fan off the New Notts Home Shirt, from a distance he says it looks like an all Black Kit. If the Magpies play in white shorts at least it breaks up all Black appearance. He's in Favour of a Bold Black & White Striped Shirt. Macca's Transfer came up (of course) My Eldest Lad did say at least Notts managed to hang on to Macca for the Full season, but if the old system of No Transfer windows had been put in place, and English Football still allowed Clubs to sign players all season long Macca may have Gone Sooner. I see his point only I'd Prefer to see No January Transfer Window. And have all Player deals done in the Off Season. The Wife hopes the Magpies can have a better finish to this season, than they Had last season. She's not Sure if Notts will get Promoted but a top half Finish and maybe a playoff Place will be an Improvement. I express my views on PON. And I have some Nagging Thoughts at the Back of My Mind. The Main One Being Stuart Maynard, something I have stated on the Website, I would think the opening Couple of Months (Results Wise) will indicate if I've been worrying about Nothing. Another Concern is the Nest, now there is No Major Football Competition on will this effect the Club and Put a Strain on Resources? Because as of Yet No Announcement has been made by the Club, regarding what is going to Happen with the Nest. Also it would seem the Paddle Centre as been a Bit of a Dead Donkey. I've not read anything about it at all recently.
  23. My Guess is the material which makes British Coins will be totally Inferior to what we have now. Thus Not Making the Minting of New Coins worth having, so Coins will be got Rid completely . Another Step Towards A Cashless Society.
  24. Wow going through a Medical and the Sky falls in on You. Best Regards Colby, hope everything works out Ok for you. At least the Problem was found and it appears can be Fixed. Chin Up Fella I'm sure the Footballing world is Rooting For You.
