  1. From reading the above topic it would appear the Kid as been pushed from Pillar to Post without being given much of a Chance at any of the EFL Clubs he's been associated with, never being given time to settle. Could it be like most young players he's been kept by a Club then Sold on for an Undisclosed Fee, as seems the Norm for young players these days, Tiernan Brookes at Notts springs to mind. Will he be given the chance to display his Talent for the Magpies ? Or will he be shipped out on Loan or held onto until another Club comes in to offer Notts a profit on their Investment? Hence the Three year Contract.
  2. Casting my mind back wasn't Aaron Nemane the last player to sign a New Notts contract he was offered? He seemed to be reluctant to sign a New Deal and was hoping for another Club to come in for him, but when No other Club showed any Interest he Resigned for Notts. I would also think that at MK Dons he won't be expected to go back and Defend. Another point against the Notts "Model".
  3. Trouble is @Blake You Never Can Tell With Notts. Like you say Cedwyn is a Striker. Not an attacking Midfielder. Play him in Macca's Old Position and hopefully he'll come up with the Goals.
  4. @Robbie I Think Elon's got his Eye on Jupiter United.
  5. @Robbie and @liampie I understand your choice of Luke Williams. But if memory serves didn't Martin Allen get the Magpies in their highest League Position in many a long Year? And Steve Cotterill got Notts promoted after the Munto Finance Scam.
  6. @liampie I've Not Read anything else about it and I don't think the club have said anymore about it. Don't know if anybody on PON have seen or heard anything about it?
  7. @Fan of Big Tone The Milk float incident was towards the end before they were fazed out so it would be in the 1990's. I can't agree with you about paying for everything on your card or Phone, that means all you expenditure can be looked at and your preferences put into a Data Base. For Me Cash Is King.
  8. A well thought out and detailed article. I was surprised you had the Magpies so high up. Because there's still a Huge Question Mark against Stuart Maynard and I think the first Dozen or so Matches will give the Fans an Idea if the step up from Wealdstone to Notts was to Big For Him. For Notts to reach such dizzying heights of 8th I Don't Think it will be with Maynard at the Helm. A more League 1 or League 2 Experienced Head Coach may get the Magpies up to a top half Finish. But I don't mind proved Wrong, it's just a Feeling I've Got.
  9. @Robbie I'm not the driver in our family, that's the wife's job. I prefer Motorbikes. And I mean this Honestly, My Missus is an excellent Driver, and she's had her No Claims Bonus for almost 40 years. She does sometimes get a Little Agitated shall we say. Like the Time She was running a bit late for work one morning and a Milkman instead of parking his Float next to the pavement, decides to Leave it Parked in the Middle Of The Road. Her Language wasn't very Lady Like and she cast doubts on the Milkman's driving abilities. Thankfully she did manage to get by. @liampie I Know what you mean about Bad Mannered Kids. I was Brought Up to say Please and Thankyou. To open doors for people and say thanks to someone who held a Door open for me. To Respect my elders and always be Kind and Considerate when ever possible. The Wife and I have brought both our Lads up be the same . After all Manner Cost Nothing.
  10. Why would Notts offer our newest recruit a 3 Year Deal? Didn't I read or hear that the Maximum Deal at the Lane for a New Player was only 2 Years? I would think Aaron Nemane will be more likely to be playing League 1 Football next season than Conor Grant. Now Notts are handing out New Deals, How A bout Offering Jodi Jones and Dan Crowley extensions to their Current Contracts. I Believe Jodi's Contract ends next summer, I would hope that Notts wouldn't like to lose him on A Free.
  11. Callum McGregor who spent time on Loan at Meadow Lane as Retired from International Duty. The 31 year Old represented his country 63 times and also Captained the International side. Scottish Manager Steve Clarke said he was disappointed with the News, but said he understood McGregor's reasons. The Celtic Captain said he was honoured to have represented his country in two Major Tournaments. And added He would Now Focus All His Footballing Attention On His Club Side.
  12. Well not the whole Club just a piece of it. That's what American Soccer Side Orange County Soccer Club are offering to people across the World a chance to become part Owner of a Second Division Football Club. This Opportunity came to light when I watched a Football Fan You tube Channel I Follow called Stuntpeg. It gives you an insight into how American "Soccer Is Run" and how MLS doesn't allow Promotion and Relegation. Orange County won the Second Division Championship in 2021 but weren't allowed into the MLS it also tells of how LA Galaxy tried to throw them out of their Stadium, it really is interesting and an eye opener if your an English Football Fan. Please give it a Look and Comment My Fellow PON Members. Yes there's some strange things within the Video, but it does cast a light on " American Soccer"
  13. Just one thing Matches last for 90+ minutes Not 60. The Head Coach also failed to Mention that the second part of Preseason and the Preseason as a Whole was disappointing. The last Few Matches it was the same old Notts of last Season leaking Goals and losing Matches at the Death. I think one of the best performances was the second match against Peterborough when Notts fought back from being 3-1 down to level the Match at 3-3 only to lose the match by conceding in the 89th minute. Realistically, I think the Magpies may be in for a Rough Season and will Struggle to make an Impression on the Playoffs. As always I'm More Than Happy To Be Proven Wrong.
  14. @Robbie Your Quote regarding Someone from up above is seemingly directing what should be the England Style and the Manager has to carry it out. Just Replace England with Notts and Manager with Head Coach and you have the same scenario as it is at The Lane. Your statement in another thread regarding the fact should Stuart Maynard be sacked, Notts will only replace him with another Coach who will continue to play the Notts "Model" also rings very true. Until it realized that the Notts Style Does Not Work the Magpies will stumble on from one Disaster to Another. The same could happen to Carsley despite the fact of his success with the U21'S playing a Totally different type of Football than the Dross Gareth Southgate produced the F.A. may force him to play Southgate's way because it got England to two Euro Finals and a World Cup Semi Final. The Problem is You Get Nowt For Coming Second. The Football Authorities need to let Lee Carsley have Free Range and See what sort of Success his playing Style will bring to the National Side. It was stated on the B.B.C. Football Website that Poch would be interested in the England Job. Heaven Forbid After the Disasters the Previous two Foreign Managers were for England, you just have to Hope the F.A. Don't Go Down That Route.
  15. Are you like me ? As you get Older Certain Things Start to Annoy You Even More. Take for example the other day I'm standing in the que in a local shop and there's a Guy waiting to be served all he's Got is a packet of Chewing Gum. That's a pound please says the the young Lad at the till. I'll pay by card says the bloke. Your bill comes to a Quid, and you want to pay by Card? Are you serious, you've Not Got a pound coin in your pocket? And another thing which Annoys Me. As this ever Happened to You? You've done your shopping your at the Check Out and the woman in front of you starts putting her Groceries on the belt. Then she declares she's forgotten something, so instead of taking her shopping of the belt, she leaves them there and disappears back into the shop to do more shopping, and you can guarantee she always comes back with more than the one item she's supposed to have Forgotten. Then there's always the Old Girl who stands there talking to the Girl at the Till and starts to tell her all about her Grandkids and the holidays she's just had and you get a run down of where she and her husband stayed and what the Weather was like. You listen to her Drone On and you think for God's sake sake Woman SHUT UP Gather up your shopping and P*** Off. Why do people who speak to somebody on their Mobile Phone when their on the Bus, always assume the Person on the other End is Deaf. You get to hear everything how the Bloke who dumped Tracey is a Bast***. How she knew he was a wrong 'un but didn't tell poor Tracey. Then you get the budding Popstar who plays a song at high volume then proceeds to sing along with it. And their voice is awful, and they can't carry a tune in a Bucket. So if you're one of theses people stop and think for a moment, the World is a Stressful Place and it DOESN'T NEED YOU TO ADD TO IT.
  16. Why the Hell couldn't Notts find Jim a position at the Club? His Experience would have been a tremendous help to the Magpie Academy plus on Top of That he also had Huge Respect from his Fellow Players. And who knows 2-3 years down the Line he may even been ready to sit in the Big Chair at Meadow Lane. Now we Fans might Never Know. All the Very Best to you Jim, a True Leader of Men.
  17. I never bothered with them. So I can't really pass comment. But Matchday Programs always seem part of the experience on Gameday , and there's an awful lot of Avid Collectors out there, who will miss them but if the Club were losing money on producing the Mag it's understandable about them Scrapping it.
  18. Good Article. Reading it I think Helps Hammer Home Notts just haven't got what it takes to get them over the Line for Promotion to League 1. Despite the signing of New Players and a Tighter looking Defence (on paper anyway) there just seems to be something Missing from the Notts Make Up, to turn them into Potential Promotion Candidates.
  19. A Quote From Scottish Comedian Kevin Bridges. The SPL used to be a Two Horse Race. Now It's Show Jumping !!
  20. Right Thinking Caps On, Crystal Balls Out (No I'm Not An Android) Take off your Rose Tinted Glasses, Live in the Real World and Not a Fantasy Land. Hand on Heart and Be Totally Honest with Yourself. How Do You See This New Season Going For Notts? What Do You Expect From The Team? And What Will Be Notts Final Position in the League 2 Table? My Answers are:- I See A Season of Struggle unless a New Playing System is Adopted. I Expect Better Performances From the Defence. But Not as many Goals this Season. Notts Final Position 14th Again Give or Take a Place.
  21. As it's been stated before @Robbie Shirt Numbers mean Nothing in the Modern Game. And if Stuart Maynard gave Cedwyn the number 9 shirt it was possibly a Mental tactic, because his Best Mate Macca had the number and look at all the Goals he scored and with Cedwyn now wearing that number Maynard believes that it will Inspire Scott to go on and score a Hatful of Goals. I would hope that Cedwyn Scott is capable of getting into double Figures this season.
  22. Very True @Robbie Maybe if Maynard is Sacked then Richard Montague will be given the Job as Head Coach. Because I Believe He is the Mastermind behind the way Notts Now Play, there's been enough hints from the Guy. Then if the Magpies continue to Struggle, he'll Get The Sack. We live in Hope.
  23. Just a Question. Why Do Notts Need Three Kits Anyway? Surely they should be trying to Save Money, instead of having a Kit Produced they may wear Half-A-Dozen times at the most this Season. Not many Fans are going to be able to buy Three different Coloured Notts Shits ( if they all become available to buy) There is a Cost Of Living Crisis At The Moment. Or aren't certain People at the Club Aware Of That?
  24. @liampie The thing is Fella will Notts be given time to build a good run of Form. If the Magpies start off badly then the knives are going to be out for Stuart Maynard, Fans are going to be baying for his Blood and should he be Sacked after a couple of months of the season, then it will mean a New Coach coming in and putting his ideas into action ( as long as he's allowed to). That could Result in another season of Mediocrity down the Lane. However there is No Point on holding on to a Coach who is out of his Depth in Hope that things will Improve Results Wise.
  25. Cedwyn sounds very Positive hopefully he can convert that into goals for the Magpies. If he can score between 10-15, he'll have done well, particularly after listening to the part of the interview, when the Doctor said the injury could be Career ending. Not only does he have to be Physically Fit, but his Mental Health needs to be right, so he doesn't find himself pulling out of certain situations during a match. I would hope Notts have people on their Staff to get Cedwyn over any problems in that Area. One thing else People Don't Expect Him to Score 30 goals this season.
