  1. A Poem When Lady Penelope Swoons Her Boobs Pop Out Like Balloons Her Butler Stands By With A Gleam In His Eye And Pops Them Back In With Warm Spoons.
  2. @Robbie That's one Hell of a Good Point Robbie. Because if there's a Recruitment Team at Millwall and they decided they wanted Macca, they bought him and then told their Head Coach to get on with Coaching him. The thing is the Millwall Head Coach isn't going to change his whole Game Plan for the sake of One Player so poor Old Macca is Stuck at a place he doesn't want to be and is playing a System that is totally Alien to him, and it would seem he isn't going to get enough game time to be able to adapt to the New System.
  3. And the List Goes On. The High Chaparral Wagon Train A Sharp intake of Breath, Do Not Adjust Your Set, the last two starring an unknown David Jason. Crossroads, The Adventures of Robin Hood, William Tell, The Dave Allen Show, The Six Five Special (may have began in the 50's but was still around in the 60's) Parkinson, Wogan Panorama , The Frost Report, That Was The Week That Was. Wicker's World, Joe 90 (never really liked this show) All Gas and Gaters, Hale & Pace, The World About Us. @Robbie I Bet You Didn't Know The Monster You Were About To Release, When You First Started This Topic, Did You?????
  4. Get him back down the Lane on loan and then buy him back in the January Transfer Window. Wishful Thinking? Maybe but something need to be done to End the Lad's Torment. He should Never have Gone To Millwall in the First Place.
  5. If there is ever a Nuclear War and the Elites and their families do survive, what good will all their Money Do Them? You can't eat Banknotes, Coins or Credit Cards.
  6. This was forty years ago? Blimey I still remember watching it on our TV the whole Family sat eyes glued to the set and Not word was spoken during the whole program.
  7. They have Defensive Issues. MMMM, Where Have I Heard That Before?
  8. As I've said before @Blake it didn't seem to me Junior had a fair crack of the Whip at Notts, as neither Luke Williams or Stuart Maynard gave him much playing time. Why? Maybe as @Robbie as said maybe he had the wrong attitude in Training or he couldn't form a Relationship with either the Coaching Staff or fellow players? Who knows? I also agree with you I think Notts will sell him in the January Transfer Window.
  9. Hello @Pica, I see you've chosen the Old English word for Pie as your user name. Anyway a Warm Welcome to PON. I'm sure your gonna enjoy it on here.
  10. To hear what Jodi has said about the club speaks volumes about the Players Character and his Dedication to get the Magpies Promoted to League 1. To say he prefers assists than goals also shows the huge Respect he has for his Team Mates. It is No Wonder we the Fans have taken him to our Hearts. It would be totally Amazing if Notts could keep him at the Lane. But a word of warning the more he produces the kind of form, which he has shown over the past couple of seasons and is continuing to show now, it wont belong before Bigger Clubs begin to take Notice and as it's been stated Every Player has his Price. We only have to look back at the Macca situation, during the last off season. So lets Enjoy Jodi's Skills while we can and Appreciate what he has done for our Club. And should he move on to a Club higher up the Footballing Pyramid, Lets Not Begrudge Him That Opportunity.
  11. Fair points @Robbie what I still can't get my head round is why was Junior loaned out in the first place? By keeping him at the Lane it would have given Ced's a longer time to recover from his injury. With his loan move that is why I was wondering that Notts may now feel that Junior really doesn't suit the Magpies style of play. Admittedly the Recruitment team will have had all the Data on him, but they haven't got it right all of the time have they? Cedwyn Scott I feel perhaps came back to early, plus the departure of Macca may have also had an effect on him and despite giving him the number 9 shirt, Maynard is playing Jatta (when he's fit) in that position and forcing Scott to play a deeper role, which is unfamiliar to him.
  12. You certainly raise a few good points @Chris. I also noticed that in the photo stills of Jodi his shirt does seem to hang more loosely on him. And in reference to his last interview he did say he'd been hitting the Gym as I recall, however I just assumed that would be part of his daily training regime anyway. Jodi's start to the season as been excellent and if he continues in that vein expect a Lot of clubs, higher up the Football Pyramid come sniffing around the Lane come January.
  13. Well done Junior I'm happy for the lad. The Question is @Robbie would Junior want to come back to the Lane? If he starts hitting the back of the net on a regular basis, he may want to see if he could do it at Notts come January. The thing is if he does return he'll still be down the pecking order behind Jatta, Didzy and Cedwyn Scott (should he prove his fitness and start scoring goals). Would he want to hang around and just wait for a chance? Or would he be prefer to remain at the Daggers where he's more or less guaranteed a starting place in their first XI. A lot of things could change between now and January and as I've said before it doesn't seem likely he'll get much of a chance under Stuart Maynard maybe our Head Coach thinks he doesn't suit Notts style of play and that's why he was loaned out in the first place. I think Notts will extend his loan at Dagenham and perhaps sell him to them at the end of this current season. The Recruitment team at Notts will I believe look for another striker (if one is needed) in the January Transfer window.
  14. A very quick and simple question. As Jodi Jones bulked up ? I don't know if other PON Members have noticed but it seems to me, that Jodi Jones appears much bigger than he did last season. It Strikes me he's put on more bulk this year, by that I mean (to me any way) he seems bigger and more muscular in his appearance. His face seems fuller so as he decided to Bulk up to help more with his defensive duties and make it harder for opposition players to bundle him off the Ball? Or Is It Just Me?
  15. You'd best ask Arthur Scargill, he had a few Strikers ????. Joking apart @Robbie the game has changed so much over the years, at one time a strikers job was to just score goals, very rarely did you see them back defending, that was the job of a defender that's what he was paid for. As you have said there's more to a Strikers game nowadays. And a striker getting the right amount of service and his team mates playing to his strengths is very important ( that maybe why Macca isn't doing to well at the moment, No service). Back in the 1970's when Liverpool dominated the then First Division, John Toshak and Kevin Keegan had a deadly partnership, each seemed to know where the other was during a Liverpool attack. Ian St John and Ian Callaghan were the guys who provided the service to the Strike Force. Looking back over the years all successful Striker partnerships seem to have a telepathic bond with each other, which I believe Macca and Cedwyn Scott had at Gateshead and something I don't think either Luke Williams or Stuart Maynard exploited to it's full potential. Admittedly Ced's injury didn't help matters, but when they were both fit they didn't play in the same positions has they had done while at Gateshead. Also Back in the Day Assists weren't a thing, it was all about the Goal Scorer not the guy who passed him the ball. That of course has changed now and the player who assists with a goal, rightly gets the credit he deserves. Back int he 70's or 80's Jodi certainly wouldn't have got the recognition he received last season. At the moment I don't think Notts have a Strike force as such, both Didzy and Jatta take their chances when they come but I don't think you can actually claim they work well together, at the moment Notts are scoring goals from all over the pitch which is a good thing, both Jodi and Dan Crowley have hit the back of the net in several matches, can they keep this up for the whole season? Probably not that's why Stuart Maynard has to get Cedwyn Scott firing on all cylinders and getting in amongst the goals, or further into the season the Magpies may find their Goals drying up and that could prove costly for Notts and their push for Promotion.
  16. @Robbie You know I thought about Rising Damp, then got distracted and I forgot to put it down. Another Leonard Rossiter program The Rise and Fall of Reggie Perrin. But then again I didn't get to where I am today forgetting to write down Leonard Rossiter's TV Series. If you saw the Reggie Perrin series, his Boss CJ was always saying he didn't get where I am today... it was his catch phrase. Before Billy Connolly came on the scene from Scotland came the Stanley Baxter Show. Also in the 70's the BBC used to show a Laurel & Hardy film before the Six o'clock News. Master Mind, Criss Cross Quiz, Opportunity Knocks, Double Your Money, Take Your Pick. Top of the Form. Here's another blast from the past Quiz Ball, I bet @super_ram will remember that because Derby County were Crowned Quiz Ball Champions. A Question of Sport. Sports night with Coleman. Match of the Day, The Big Match. Well I've wracked my Brains and for the moment I can't think of anymore, but I'm sure there must be other Programs I'll remember.
  17. @Robbie Ok this is getting Silly, I reckon between us we're going to end up naming every TV program of the 60 & 70's.????. But as you insist here are a few more. Robin's Nest Never the Twain The Flashing Blade, the Adventures of Black Beauty, maybe I shouldn't say this but it was a big part of Saturday TV Jim'll Fix It. Folly Foot Farm, Worzel Gummidge then there were the sports programs BBC had Grandstand, while ITV had World of Sport. In 1979 David Attenborough's first Wildlife Blockbuster Life on Earth was shown. Speaking of Wildlife. Do you remember dear old Johnny Morris who made the animals talk on Animal Magic? Johnny also told us about Tales of the Riverbank. Then we had Desmond Morris who presented Zoo Time, he also wrote the best selling book The Naked Ape. Going back to Comedy Please Sir and it's not so successful spin off The Fen Street Gang. Then there was Minder, The Sweeney, Dixon of Dock Green. Z Cars Up Stairs Down Stairs where Gordon Jackson played Hudson the Butler. Gordon Jackson also had a starring role in the Professionals. Wendy Craig in Butterflies, Mother makes 3 and Mother Makes 5. The first in depth TV Series about World War II, All Our Yesterdays. Right that's it (for the moment) after all this typing I'm going for a lie down.
  18. @Robbie Didzy as started this season well and as produced some fine performances plus goals. Yesterday Jatta produced a Super Sub performance. The only real worry about the guys up front, is the form of Cedwyn Scott, I'm not sure if he's fully over his injury of last season and he also suffered a knock, in a previous game. I also think SM is playing him out of position, he's given Ceds the number 9 shirt but is playing him deeper, not in the traditional number 9 position. Hopefully young Mister Bass has learned his lesson, boot the ball up field don't fanny about with it, in Dangerous Areas. I'm still concerned about every Notts player being brought back to defend corners, I think with all those bodies in the box players, tend to get in each others way. The Gillingham game as you say will be a Massive Test for the Magpies, but being on Home Turf should give the team an advantage.
  19. Here are a few others @Robbie. Skippy the Bush Kangaroo who just by making tck tck tck noise could get his message across. What's that Skip? Sonny's fell down into a gully and broke his leg? Two American shows from the 60's Cannonball the story about two Truck Drivers then the Whirly Birds a series about Helicopter Pilots. Then there was the Flying Doctor which I believe was one of the first programs from Australia. Star Trek the Original Series. Captain Kirk, Spock and Doctor 'Bones' McCoy . Then there was Britain's own Doctor Who. Ruby Flipper didn't last very long after Pan's People disbanded. The Next best Girl Dance Group was Hot Gossip who featured on the Kenny Everret Show, but I think that was the 1980's. Yes I remember Flipper Lassie Champion the Wonder Horse, there was all a series about a Black Stallion called Fury, and Circus Boy starring Mickey Dolenze, who later found fame with the Monkees Pop Group. Casey Jones the Locomotive Driver of the Cannonball Express. Then there was the Sooty Show and Basil Boom Boom Brush and speaking of Basils Fawlty Towers. ( I think that started in the 1970's ?). All these TV Series and rewatching some of them now, you say to yourself Did I really watch this Rubbish? Yes you did because there was nothing else on just BBC 1 & 2 and ITV just Three Channels.
  20. I'll be Honest I was very doubtful about Stuart Maynard's appointment ( but I never wanted him to fail) I didn't think he was capable of making the step up from the National League to League 2, one of the main worries I had was he was only a Part Time Manager and a full time BT Engineer. But Kudos to the Guy, he came in when Notts were due to face the front runners in League 2 and was trying to fill the shoes of one of the most Popular Notts Manager/Head Coaches in recent years, plus the Recruitment team Failed in bringing in any Top Class Defenders in the January Transfer Window. But despite all the Flack he received he stuck at his job and with him and his staff having a full preseason he's managing to Mold the Magpies Squad into a Team that's not worried about changing things around. There will of course be Bigger Challengers coming up for Notts and how SM's Team performs against teams ear marked for Promotion this Season, will give a Clear indication of how the Club, will fare in 2024/2025. He's made an excellent Start so far. One of his biggest challengers this term will be, how he copes and Lifts the Squad after a defeat, I think that will give the Fans a True indication of how well he will do at the Lane.
  21. Hey they got a point today a 3-3 Draw with Colchester Yea.
  22. @Robbie There's one or two on your list I enjoyed but had forgotten about. There is one show I didn't list and how the Hell I forgot about it, was of course Monty Python's Flying Circus. I must be a Gumby. I also enjoyed Spike Milligan's 'Q' Series and the Benny Hill Show. Do you remember Pan's People on Top of the Pops? Porridge was another favorite and Colditz TV Series. There was also a Children's Show on ITV which was supposed to rival Blue Peter. It's name Magpie. Then of course one of the Best if Not the Best Kids Prog, Drum Roll TISWAS. With Chris Tarrant Sally James Bob Carolgees and Spit the Dog plus Lenny Henry (when he was funny) and who can forget the appearances of Frank Carson on that Show ? Brilliant.
  23. @allardyces tash Thankyou for your kind words. They are most welcome as are all the Well Wishers from other PON Members.
  24. @Robbie I didn't know he had made a comeback in Corrie in the1990's by that time, I no longer watched the program. Regarding the subject of your Topic from the 60's there was Gary & Sylvia Anderson's puppet series, Thunderbirds, Fireball XL 5 and Captain Scarlet. Tinker & Tucker with Aunty Jeanie Morton. Then there was the Champions, featuring the beautiful Alexandra Bastedo. The Golden Shot with Bob Monkhouse, Till Death Do Us Part. Into the 70's and Comedy was my main T.V enjoyment. Dad's Army, It Ain't Half Hot Mum, Love Thy Neighbour, Man About The House and it's spin off George & Mildred, Are You Being Served Bull's Eye hosted by Jim Super Smashing Great Bowen, the Comedians the Two Ronnie's and who can ever forget the Eric & Ernie Christmas Shows? There's bound to be more I've forgotten about, but this is all that comes to my mind at the moment.
  25. Reading the updates of the match it would seem early on that Notts had slipped back into their ways of the latter half of last season, letting in two very Sloppy goals. However to come back to win by two clear goals after being those two goals down, shows the Grit Determination Fighting Spirit and Class of players Notts have in their squad. It's been a Good start to the Season for the Magpies, lets keep it up Guys. It is after all a Marathon and Not a Sprint, till the end of the Season. Winning Breeds Winners and that Attitude is in full flow at the Lane there are going to be many ups and downs, highs and lows as the season progresses keep the Faith and Believing and the Magpies should be in for a Good Season. Lets hope so. C.O.Y.P.
