Notts County squad 'needs reinforcements' - Paterson
Good Evening and welcome to Master Mind. And our first Contestant Please. Your Name? Martin Patterson And Your Specialized Subject? Stating the Obvious. I Think this Proves Patterson Isn't the Right man for the Job. The Recruitment team don't have a Clue, and the Club need to ship players out who are Not League 2 Standard.
-
Stuart Maynard Has a New Job.
@Piethagoram . He may not be, unless Notts paid up his remaining contract in full with a single payment, otherwise the Club will pay him off monthly, which appears to be the Norm nowadays, until the contract is Paid In Full.

Match Discussion: League Two - Tranmere Rovers (A)
After recent performances, at Best I can only see Notts Grabbing a Draw. My Prediction 2-0 Tranmere. Or 2-1 if Dennis can carry on his Excellent Form.

Stuart Maynard Has a New Job.
Really? I Must Admit This Is A Total Surprise To Me. I was under the Impression the Previous Head Coach at York wanted to stay there and build something, according to reports, and had turned down other Clubs including Notts!! Interestingly didn't former Notts Boss Neil Ardley have a spell Coaching at York?

No More Mixed Messages
Since the Tragic Passing of Jason Turner, it seems the Club have gone into Keep Things Quiet Mode. Which in my opinion is totally wrong and all manner of Rumours are going around, this is Wrong and an Un-Professional Stance by the Club and will Not Endear it to the Fan Base. Regarding Local Media. The amount of coverage they give Notts it's clear they Don't give a Damn about the Magpies, so don't expect anything from that quarter. The Highest amount I've heard that's been offered for A.J. is £750 k. So if the Club was prepared to let Alex Bass go for £300k, you would have thought who ever offered Notts £750k, they'd have snatched their hand off for that offer.

Morecambe manager, perhaps Notts should have recruited from within?
Notts need a Head Coach with plenty of EFL Experience, Leadership and Man Management Skills and a Desire to Push the Team On towards Promotion.
-
Questions, Questions.
How Much Infrastructure Does The Club Need? The Board keeps coming up with New Fangled Ideas, But Poor Recruitment could see the Magpies Struggle. What's the Point on having the Best Pitch in League 2 or Heaven Forbid the National League? It seems someone on the Board has ideas above their Station. If Notts were a Premier League Team, With Premier League Money, then Maybe the Paddle Courts and the Nest and a Hybrid Pitch would be worth the Investment. But Notts Aren't Premier League, at the Moment they are just a Struggling League 2 side, who's only Ambition is to Stay in the Football League. The First two ideas can't be bringing in that Much Money or if they are it appears that money as been Invested in the Technical Board Rather than a Hiring an Experienced EFL Coach and Players who are at a Standard of Pushing the Magpies up to League 1 and Possibly One Day the Championship.
-
Questions, Questions.
Lets Be Totally Honest, a Very Large Chunk of the Notts Fan Base, Don't Give a Damn about the Clubs Infrastructure They Don't Care about the Paddle Courts, The Nest or the Hybrid Pitch. What They Want to see is Success on the Pitch. And a lot of Fans feel Let Down by the Brothers. Yes they Saved the Club from the Alan Hardy Era, but after six years in control, their only success on the Pitch which has been achieved is the Promotion Playoff Victory at Wembley. And Despite Saving the Club, that now is Starting to wear a little Thin with the Notts Faithful. How much Longer do Fans have to say Thankyou for Keeping the Club from going under ? Is the Rescue of Notts always going to be a Sword held over the Magpies Fans Heads ? Is it any wonder that the Club Higher Ups are coming under attack from Fans on Social Media Platforms and Have Your Say Comment Sections ? Is it a Surprise they're accused of Lacking Ambition ? Fans on this very site are beginning to Show their Frustration. Where the Paddle Courts the Nest and the New Pitch Really Necessary ? I would have thought once the Club was on a Financial Even Keel, the Main Focus off the Pitch would have been the State of the Stadium. Fans Safety on Match Day Is Paramount, and once that had been accomplished, then Focus should have been Shifted to Providing a Squad of Players capable of Getting Notts Promoted, Under a Head Coach who leads from the Front, who can Inspire and Make all his Players Believe in themselves and turn them into better Players. Players who would Run Through Brick Walls, for Him and The Fans who turn up to matches Week In and Week Out, and those who follow the Magpies Away from the Lane. As the Expense of all the Off Pitch Infrastructure been to Much? Leaving the Recruitment Budget Cupboard Bare ? How Much did the New Technical Board Cost to Set Up and Run? Is it Really Needed ? And Should It Take Preference Over Player Recruitment ? Perhaps the Most Important Question Should Be What About The Fans? Owners like Players Come and Go, but it's the Fans Which Keep the Club Alive, It's Their Money and Loyalty which is the Life Blood of Any Club, and Don't they Deserve the Best, From Any Owner Who Ever They May Be?

Progress Report
Personally I Think Notts Have Gone Backwards, since the Heady days under Luke Williams. While it's true that things were starting to unravel at the Lane, under Williams Tenure, just before he left I think if he hadn't been poached by Swansea that January Transfer Window would have seen the Arrival of a Better level of Players, instead of just Jatta. The two Head Coaches who have been succeeded LW have been poor appointments. Stuart Maynard had never Coached on a Professional Basis, so he was on a Massive learning Curve himself, which didn't give him the time to learn his Trade and Coach the Team. In his second season (as I've stated before) SM was slowly getting to Grips with the Notts Model, with a Great Deal of Help from the Saunders Brothers, but once they Departed, his New Assistant (who shouldn't have been appointed in my opinion) was neither Use Nor Ornament, and Maynard eventually crumbled under the Pressure. The Arrival of the New Director of Football and Martin Patterson certainly haven't helped matters in my opinion. Both I feel are Not Up To The Job (always happy to be proven wrong) and this as been shown with the Magpies gaining 5 points out of a Possible 15 and a League position of 16th. The Brothers need To Stop The Rot and need to take their Share of the Blame, by allowing Top Players To Leave and Not Replacing Them With Like For Like Players. They have only Recruited cheaply with Free Agents and Loanees, which must raise the Question have they spent to much money on the Infrastructure of the Club, which means they can only afford to Bring in Cheap Replacements ? Bringing on Academy Players at Notts seems to be a Totally Alien Idea, the up and coming Players of tomorrow, get loaned out and once they've gain some Experience, they're Sold. So with Star Players being Sold and Young Talent Being Sold, does this mean the Brothers are content to use Notts has a Feeder Club? (which has been quoted by another PON Member) and they just hope that Notts one day might get Promotion to League 1.

Everton's new stadium
Very True @Robbie the old grounds do hold some great memories of Matches and amazing Atmosphere. I remember standing in the Old Baseball Ground where the Rams used to play. The first time at the old Derby ground, I went with my Best Mate and his Dad, who told me Hold your Ground Young Un and don't let people push you around. I also remember when Home Fans and Away Fans stood shoulder to shoulder in the Pop Side before Fan Segregation (late 60's early 70's.). At the Baseball Ground you were also very close to the Pitch, which I think really did add to a Matches Atmosphere. I Don't know what it's like at Pride Park, as I've never been. But I suppose like the Game it's self Stadiums have to move with the Times. Wasn't there a rumour some years ago, that Notts and the Red Dogs were going to Share a Newly Built Ground at one time? That Doesn't Bare Thinking About.

Breaking : County looking for a new no 1
I Thought you were referring to a New Goal Keeper.

Sound Advice ?
As we go through Life, there are many Ups and Downs. Things we've done with positive results and things we've done, which each of us have come to regret. So here's a Question, which may be easier for our Older PON Members to answer. If You Could Travel Back In Time. What Advice Would You Give To Your 21 Year Old Self ? It can be as long or as short as you like. As I've asked the Question. I'll Give You My Answer. You Shouldn't Have Married Her Lad. This of Course Refers To My First Wife. Not The Present Mrs WBRM.

It Could Be Worse...
@Robbie if past seasons are anything to go by then any New Keeper, the Club Signs will have to be either a Free Agent or Dirt Cheap. But I've Got a Horrible Feeling we've seen the Last of any New Signing at Notts until January, because which Experienced EFL Players are Still Available at a Price the Club would be comfortable paying? The Problem is Notts have left Summer Signings to late. It took the Owners Four Weeks to hire a Replacement for Stuart Maynard, you would have thought once the Brothers had decided to a Parting of the Ways with Maynard, a Replacement would have been in Place within a Few Days Not Weeks. Now their Dithering could end up costing the Magpies a decent Run at the Playoffs.

Allasana Jatta Injured.
@Robbie . I don't think Jatta will Stay even if the Club offer him a New Contract, because simply his Agent is Bending his Ear and is Encouraging him to Move. Notts may be able to hold onto him until January, but would there be any point? After all a Disgruntled Player could cause a lot of upset in the Notts Dressing Room. And he'll just be content to sit on the Bench, instead of trying to Force his way back into the Notts Starting XI. My guess would be ( if the past is anything to go by) that the Club wouldn't offer him a New Improved Contract until Christmas, like they did with Matty Palmer and Jodi in past seasons. He needs to be offered a contract Now and if he decides Not to Sign it, then get Rid. The Current Form of Dennis (if it continues) will cover his Loss.

Trouble brewing across the river?
It would seem that a Good Coach could leave the City Ground, thanks to a Meddling Owner. Nuno was hired to do a job at Forest, and beyond a Shadow of a Doubt he did last season getting Forest into Europe for the First time in what 30 years? It would appear however the Owner's Ego as Got the Better of him. What the Greek needs to do is, in my opinion Shut Up and Let Nuno get on with the Job, and Bask in the Glory that Nuno is bringing to Forest.

NL Top 4
Enzio Boldewijn now there's a player I thought would go places. But he always Blew Hot and Cold when he was at the Lane. Some of his Goals for the Magpies were Superb, but the Coaches he played under Never seemed to be able to get the Best out of him. Was that the Coaches Fault did Enzio have an attitude?

Gaza's vanishing football stadiums
@Piethagoram this Can Not be Debated without going into the Political Arena, which I Understand @Chris has Banned from this Site. It's Not about Football that is just a thin veneer ,and even you yourself have stated there's a Danger of this being declared Political, which in my Opinion it is.
-
Trouble brewing across the river?
@Fan of Big Tone , you failed to Quote me in full. We all have Our Opinions on what is going on at the Lane and Football in General, is what I stated. Which means you have your Opinion and I have Mine, it was just in my opinion your attitude towards @Robbie in your answer to his comment was wrong.

Allasana Jatta Injured.
The Rumours are flying around about Jatta, and will continue to do so until the Club release some kind of Statement. Here's a Couple. A.J. has already signed for another Club, which was done during the Last Transfer Window, on the Condition he was allowed to carry on at Notts until the End of Last Season. So does that mean the Visa situation and now the Back Injury have been made up (for want of a better Phrase) to ensure A.J. Doesn't get Injured before he joins his New Club? Jatta's destination is Mansfield. Seems Strange, but if the Stags are or have signed A.J. it will mean he won't have to move from Nottingham, unlike him having to up sticks and move, if he's signed for Bolton, which as also been a Rumoured Destination. Make of these Rumours what you will.

Gaza's vanishing football stadiums
Yes this Thread is Political. And Should Be Removed. Especially the Statement about Genocide.
-
Trouble brewing across the river?
Lets Not Get Into Arguments About the Red Dogs. Though it does seem Strange That a Notts Fan is Posting Things about Forest, on a Website Site Dedicated to the Magpies. We all have our Opinions about what's going on at the Lane and Football in General and Each of Us should Respect Each Others Point of View. Without getting Snappy if those views differ from our Own.

Where are they now : Geraldo Bajrami
Another Player from the Luke Williams era, who benefitted from Williams Man Management skills. Unfortunately two Bad Injuries in successive seasons have curtailed his progress. The injury at Notts ( Knee Injury?) was followed by the same injury, the season after he left the Lane. If he gets a run clear of injuries he could be a good signing for Crawley.
-
It Could Be Worse...
@Anti-Red, I think that League 2 this season is tougher than last Season. However has you say IF (and that's a little word with a Big Meaning) Notts can put together a Good Run, there is a chance of the Magpies having a Decent Season. But at the moment there are still to many weak spots in the team. The Count (Roos) is my main worry, with the Experience he has he should have settled in by now, but he hasn't and he doesn't install any confidence in the Defenders in front of him. A lot of PON Members think he should be given more time fair enough, but if Notts lose today that's another match ticked off and the chances of a Playoff Place, becomes harder. If MP doesn't want to give the Young Keeper ago, then put Sam Slocombe back between the Sticks (I think he's still registered as a Notts player), at least Sam's Not Afraid to come off his line and command his Area.

Where are they now? Cedwyn Scott
With the Injury he had at Notts and the Departure of both his Mate Macca and Luke Williams, it certainly had a Big Effect on his Mental Health. I think if Luke Williams had still been in charge at the Lane, then Cedwyn may have adopted better once he had returned from injury. Williams had a Great Relationship, with his players as stated by them in their many interviews, something Stuart Maynard couldn't compete with, because he was on a huge learning curve himself. As it's been stated by other members on here Cedwyn is above the level he now finds himself at, and hopefully he'll prove he still as the ability to score plenty of goals. But whatever lies ahead in his Footballing Career, he will always be remembered for his Penalty, which Returned the Magpies back to the EFL. Thanks Ceds.

Match Discussion: League Two - Bromley FC (A)
Drop Roos and give the Kid a go in goal. Don't expect A.J to comeback Firing on all Cylinders, he'll need time to settle back into his Scoring Routine, don't be surprise to see him start on the Bench, then be brought on in the second half. Lets hope Notts have also laid the Curse of last season, that being losing to higher placed teams, Bromley currently sit 7th. Score Prediction 1-1.
