Huddersfield Town have little transfer room as departure...

Martin Drury inherits a side that has seen eight departures from the squad since the end of the campaign

So if they need to make room for new recruits does that leave Notts with an option on TI?

  2. @theAnticlough absolutely spot on!

This 'model' works so well despite the naysayers - so pleased to see them proved wrong ... again!

Patto leaving? Yes of course if the famously silly offer came his way but Stockport isn't it.

Listening to his interviews he comes over has a really genuine guy, also very level headed and I am pretty certain knows where the grass is greenest.

  3. Not sure I liked the guy. Particularly the video of his halftime team talk at Wembley which seemed to be playing to the cameras. (Salford obviously thought they would walk the game to have that set up at such a vutal moment)

Even so, 8th and 4th is a decent effort? Or with their cash have they under performed?

Last 4 years 3rd place were:

    Bradford 78pts

    Mansfield 86pts

    Northampton 83pts

    Bristol Rovers 80

Is a further 22 points achievable?

    6 wins, maybe.

    4 draws, fingers very crossed.

    Only 3 defeats.

    It's squeaky time 😝

Yesterday makes the rest of March look intense 😬

So yes 85 points should do it, maybe 83 as this year is very competitive unlike the run away year of Stockport, Wrexham and Mansfield.

  6. Has to be L1 in my opinion. We will do well to make the automatics this year given some really tough fixtures remaining. And then it will be the playoff lottery. So anything could happen. I just hope that the Brothers keep the faith with MP as I feel he has the attributes to be a successful manager at this level.

If he can't make it this year then, maybe next or even the year after. It won't be easy as some wild investors will come in again to another club and try to do a Wrexham or MK.

hope MP and co are working under the assumption that they are just as scared of us and pass on positive vibes to the players. Let’s go there to win

Definitely! Play to our strengths I'm sure will be MP's approach. If it's working, don't fix it .

  8. Totally agree @McPie . I feel MP has shown he has significant influence on the technical board. The signings of Ndlovu and Belshaw are clearly designed for the now in Division 4, while the others are a nod to the near future. In the case of Enoru and Tangen perhaps the not too distant future.

This result shows the unpredictability of this league. On their day, any team is capable of beating another team no matter where they are in the league.

Notts need to be at their best against Barrow and ensure there's no.potential banana skin on Saturday.

I almost feel more nervous about playing these teams than I do about the teams in the top 10.

Let's hope MP has instilled a robustness that we have seen lacking in the last two seasons.

  10. Yes, he was 91 according to reports. I just remember him from the early 60s watching with my grandad from Spoon Kop.

George Smith, Ivan Hampton, Bert Loxley, Gibson era seems to ring a bell. Need to dig out the old programmes again 🤓
