  1. Yes, 3 seasons worth of progress. 26/27 mid-table 27/28 top half, maybe playoffs 28/29 playoffs. I'd take that as progress. Thoughts?
  2. Agreed, but although they didn't make money from Maynard I don't think he was a failure. Maybe just not the right peg at the time. Strange how he was sacked by York though despite success 🤔
  3. Not really worried either way as not sure they are going to say what we all saw on Saturday, that is, that Bradford we're the better team. Not that much better but second half their L1 experience and knowhow told. We got a bit out muscled in the middle of the park. Be good to get Robertson back as an option. Bit disappointed in Mustapha and Roberts but thought Smyth has improved a lot since the Leicester game. Quite liked Kanu too. It's going to be a tough October and a tough season but I feel well have enough to survive. The 2 week break may be just what we need to reset.
  4. In yesterday's training video highlighting two of the new signings, is Flint still training with Notts?
  5. A fabulous window in my opinion! 15 players in, 11? out is a lot of work. As @Robbie says they are already starting to gel with the L2 survivors and the first 5 results have been more than we could have hoped for. The mistake of sentimentality and keeping 50:50 players has been learnt. Bigger, stronger and therefore fitter squad more able to cope with the Patto style I'll give the technical board 9 out of 10 (Would have been a 10 if they could have brought Langstaff back... dream on 🤣)
  6. Another big strong man. I think there is a trend emerging in these signings. A comparison of average weight and height of this squad compared to last season would be interesting 🤔
  7. At the start of the season I was hoping that Bromley had booked one of the relegation places leaving only 3 up for the battle. Now I hope they stay up , just. Would hate to see JJ back in league 2 to end his career.
  8. Sorry @theAnticlough but have to disagree. Great servant, great achievements but they are trying to build a team to challenge for the next step up in two years time. JJ is sadly passed his prime and the physical demands on a frail body won't stand up to the pressures. Look at the energy of this year's recruits. Staggering.
  9. Looks like he's not started this season. Is that why Salford have started the season so badly??
  10. In his interview I think it said "signed Thursday, trained Friday, played Saturday "
  11. On a positive note, if most of these except Macari and Platt are back by Xmas that will give MP some selection issues.
  12. Looks a good fit; Charlton probably want to see him out on loan for another year to see if he can continue his progression rather than sell him (rumours of offers). 18 goals for Walsall, numerous awards last year - sign him tonight ready for tomorrow
  13. I would quite like the pink with black shorts to match the trim on the socks and shirt. But pink and pink might look a bit.... pink?
  14. He's appeared twice from the bench in their first two games 👍
  15. So after 2 games, if we can keep this up, if we don't suffer yet more injuries and various other ifs I'm going for just below mid-table with 56 points. After the famous 10 games, I think we'll have 13 points so after 40 we will have 52 and then scramble 4 more for a total of 56. Last year Wigan finished 16th with 56. Worth nothing I know (Got Luton wrong straight away!), but here we go... 16. Agreed about Bedeau @menzinho . We were in the Sirrel on Saturday and so saw a lot of him in the first half. In my view he was a little bit ponderous at times and his first pass was not accurate which put Lipsuic and the other midfielders under pressure straight away. Love the clever passing around the press which does create space, but you have to be both really quick and accurate to achieve it. So sometimes aerial down the wing for a striker to chase is not a bad option?
  17. Iorpenda didn't play for Huddersfield. Is he injured?
  18. 5 points from the first 3 games would be exceptional. Yes, Luton will be a harder test. But if Saturdays team is still fit, a striker arrives and Mustapha is ready......

  20. Agree, Roberts wanted too much time and too many decisions his way. I feel he will be doing a lot of running over the next few weeks 🥵
  21. What did we think? Everybody at least 7 out of 10, except Smyth out of his depth against two serious defenders. Ness/Tsaroulia MOM? Liked the back 4, sometimes 5. Bedeau struggled under pressure? Defence and Midfield look really solid and should earn us lots of points but does highlight need for a striker. Like the looks of Mustapha. Made a big difference when he came on with Acquah. Made their big defenders turn and struggle.
  22. BBC SportRyley Reynolds: Grimsby Town sign Notts County midfielder...Grimsby Town sign Notts County midfielder Ryley Reynolds on a season-long loan deal.
  23. Agreed. And I'm pretty sure we will.
  24. Can we wait until after Leicester and Luton? At the moment I'm going positive and sayingmid-table, but after those two games.....
  25. I can see why a London boy would like to be 2 hours from home and not in the wilds of Wigan, or even West Bromich for that matter. However, does look a bit of a hopeful one. Let's hope MP can polish another diamond 💎 . Will he be on the bench Saturday 🤔
