The transfer window has closed and now we can concentrate on the football. I don’t think all the speculation and rumours are very helpful.

Paterson knows what is squad is and who he’s got to work with and from the way he talked in an interview he’s more than happy with it. He hinted that because of the strength in depth he’ll be making what he called some surprising selections to future team sheets. It sounds like he feels he’ll be able to rotate more than he has in the past.

I’m looking forward to talking more about football and less about rumours.

I think that it has been a very interesting transfer window as far as Notts are concerned. The players that have been brought in are a fair reflection on how Martin Paterson wants his team to play.

Fifteen players recruited in a transfer window is a lot of players, who I believe have fundamentally changed the way that Notts will play. The playing philosophy of Williams & Maynard has definitely gone.

I think that the owners have realised that there is still room for a few flair players, but the overwhelming number of players in the squad now need to have a relentless work ethic, which includes mental & physical resilience, commitment, & competitiveness, traits that Martin Paterson wants in his match squads

We've already seen those traits working to the full in the first five competitive games of the season & it has proved to be very effective in carving out positive results for the Club.

Relieved it's over for now - in the next window we'll probably have speculation about Ness and Tsaroulla if they continue their good form.

Squad depth looks much stronger. Also, despite the injuries, I'd argue that most of our first choice XI are fit. I've got high hopes for Sanders, and Campbell looked promising (and we spent money on him). Wishing the best for the others in their recovery but not sure many of them will be able to force their way into the team.

A fabulous window in my opinion!

As @Robbie says they are already starting to gel with the L2 survivors and the first 5 results have been more than we could have hoped for.

The mistake of sentimentality and keeping 50:50 players has been learnt.

Bigger, stronger and therefore fitter squad more able to cope with the Patto style

I think the most encouraging thing so far is that the new team has more than held its own in terms of balance of play.

Established L1 sides have not been able to dominate us at all. We spent long spells away at Doncaster looking like the best team, just like we did against Leicester for example.

It looks like we're going to be OK, but grim spells lie ahead that we haven't seen for 7 years. In Pato, we have someone who can snap us out of those and prevent a bad run spiralling out of control. For now though, we should enjoy this first positive run.

Good signings. I am happy with the transfer window, but I would have liked serious competition for James Belshaw. He is a good keeper, but sometimes a little slow and prone to focusing on the wrong part of the game.

I am happy with him as our number one, don’t get me wrong, but I don’t think Harry Griffiths is going to challenge him.

Just caught up with the fact that Tom Iorpenda has gone to Swansea for a package worth up to £1m. He's a great prospect but that just shows how difficult the market is and how well Notts do to attract (and replace) talent.
