OK. So let's assume we need a new DoF. Do you go for Montague? My two penneth? No. He left for a reason which we will certainly never know, but as a principle, don't look back. Look forward.

Squad Registration
I think, for what it's worth, that Hinchy and Edwards were always bottom of the list. Edwards had his first game for Gateshead today: they got stuffed by Neil Ardley's Woking. Funny old game isn't it?

Thanks @theAnticlough . Maybe I'll put forward for the Technical Board 🙃

Statement from the owners
@Piethagoram and @Fan of Big Tone are right. 110% correct as the football vernacular goes. It is an indisputable fact that a business (professional football is a business not a sport or a hobby) must be sustainable, maybe not year on year, but certainly over a given time span. So you can over spend one year if you feel the time is right to invest, but you must then work to balance out any debt over subsequent years. Otherwise there is only one outcome - ask our Chancellor of the Exchequer! Of course there is another approach, believe in fairy tales and Hollywood benefactors 🙃

Transfer Deadline Day
I've always looked at 12 games as the benchmark. A quarter of the season should see a fair sample of the league's opposition.

Transfer Deadline Day
Sadly, I feel you have summed it up rather too well @piedestrian . However, let's keep the faith until those first 12 games are up 😐

Allasana Jatta Injured.
Let him go and quickly. He obviously wants out. And there will be no statement from the owners until the deal is done. They wouldn't give away any bargaining position prior to finalising the move. They are a little more shrewd then Mr. Trump 🤑

Allasana Jatta Injured.
Sadly I feel we need to cash in now, much as it leaves us under strength up front 😟. Too much noise and rumour.

The Value of the Technical Board
There is an old adage in business, and football is a business when all said and done, 'if two directors agree, then you have one director too many''. So the Technical Board, or whatever you call it is an essential part of a clubs structure. Robust discussion is essential for success.

Summer Transfer Rumours 2025!
Can't see why we have any interest in Mr. John-Jules. 91 games 10 goals in 5 years either on loan or at Crawley, the majority in League 1. Perhaps just in re-hab? Eleven Players Recruited. A Statement of Intent from the Owners
Sam Slocombe, Kyle Cameron, Sam Austin, Adam Chicksen, Charlie Whitaker, Tyler Miller and Robbie Cundy, were released. Not forgetting David McGoldrick, George Abbott and Alex Bass. So with the new No. 9 to come is that a fair exchange or a minor upgrade? Answers on a league table coming to you about the 11 October. (12 games in)

Tyrese Hall to Notts
Hinchy and Edwards seem a little out of place now. I feel they will stick with Robertson and see how he recovers. Grant's position looks dependent on who the new No. 9 is. Definitely need to let some go though. It would be disruptive as well as expensive to keep this many midfielders.

Could the colour of our away kit swing it? 🤔

Predictions for 2025-26
I'd go with those @ARLukomski apart maybe Crewe being 4th. I'd also still like to feel that when we fill that No.9 shirt it will give us a boost and we will push for automatics. (Please )

The Jatta Paradox
The Bro's will sign two new forwards before end of August, (probably costing a few quid), then sell Jatta at Xmas for more than the combined fees of the incomers.. Simples! (Terrible to lose him for no fee.)

Predictions for 2025-26
I'm remaining optimistic. I do think we will make the playoffs because MP will instill discipline and fight which often makes the difference at this level. Also we have arguably strengthened and also added some depth to all the midfield areas. We will be lucky to replace Didsy, but if we can get a proven goalscorer and keep AJ then I can see a push for top 3. Or maybe I'm dreaming a little 😴

Predictions for 2025-26
It's that time of the year again. I know it's like fantasy football, but all the same it has to be done. Where will Notts finish his year? So I took 5 predictions from YouTube and averaged the respective finishing positions for each club to give some sort of statistic that will certainly be wrong and be another damn lie come May next year. The 5 YouTubers that I took the predictions from were: Tom and Jordan from The Pavis Perspective Sophie and Matt from Matt SB James from The 92 The odds are from Paddy Power (other betting sites are available) All the predictions are prior to any signings this week. Conclusions? The top 3 look nailed on. The bottom 4 look nailed on 4-12 looks like a lottery I really think that Notts will outperform the statistics this year and that the new approach from The Brothers and Martin Paterson are reasons to be cheerful.

Who Needs to Step Up for Notts This Season?
Really interesting topic 👌. Because this is where a manager/head coach earns the money. They only have a few levers to pull: Add new players, and by inference get rid of those you don't think are up to it. Get what you have fitter - big difference at any level. Use the carrot and the stick for those you want to improve. Massage the system to better suit the players. Increase the tempo of play, assuming you have the right skill set. So far MP seems to be working hard on 2 to 5, so I am very much looking forward to those first ten games. Hopefully the Brothers and DofF can deliver the first.🙏

Perhaps a reason why Notts are still awaiting signings
- Where's All The Money Gone?
Nothing to do with lack of ambition. All to do with sustainability. Unless of course you have the odd million or two to through down the drain. Surely recent NCFC history clearly demonstrates that?- Perhaps a reason why Notts are still awaiting signings
