Notts County were robbed of victory at Coventry Cityโs Ricoh Arena as Kevin Nolanโs men had to settle for a 1-1 draw in the first leg of their League Two playoff semi-final. Itโs often said that the true essence of the game lies not just on the pitch, but in the stands. This sentiment was vividly brought to life during Notts Countyโs recent away match against Tranmere Rovers, which ended in a hard-fought 0-0 draw. Notts County managed to claim a draw from the jaws of defeat on Saturday as their League Two game with Forest Green Rovers ended all square at Meadow Lane. The division's bottom side took the lead on the half-hour mark through Omar Bugiel and held on to their advantage until deep - and I mean really deep - into injury time, when Rob Milsom equalised for a final score of 1-1. Another weekend, another crushing disappointment in the long line of crushing disappointments. Notts County, already woefully trundling along in this season's League Two campaign, were tasked with going to big rivals Mansfield Town in the hope of getting some points. They did perform well enough in the first half, to be fair, but bad defending proved the Magpies' downfall as Mal Benning lofted the ball to the far post from the left and CJ Hamilton turned home. The goalscorer thenAdded by PON_News

Rob Milsom's stoppage-time header has helped Notts County preserve their unbeaten home record as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Forest Green Rovers at Meadow Lane on Saturday. The Magpies midfielder met Matt Tootle's cross to nod past FGR goalkeeper Sam Russell in the 96th minute, a goal which cancelled out Omar Bugiel's first-half opener for the visitors. Rob Milsom's stoppage-time header has helped Notts County preserve their unbeaten home record as they were held to a 1-1 draw by lowly Forest Green Rovers at Meadow Lane on Saturday. The Magpies midfielder connected with Matt Tootle's cross and nodded beyond Rovers goalkeeper Sam Russell in the 96th minute to dramatically cancel out Omar Bugiel's first-half opener for the visitors. So here it is folks, the biggest game of Notts County's season so far and hopefully the penultimate game of our campaign is upon us. Coventry City come to Meadow Lane for the second leg of our League Two playoff semi-final on level terms, though it shouldn't be the case. The Sky Blues won a completely undeserved penalty late on in the first leg at the Ricoh Arena which they converted for a 1-1 scoreline. But as much as it's totally justified, there's no point crying over spilled mAdded by Joe Jones

Notts County began the 2017/18 League Two season with a difficult trip to Coventry City on Saturday 5 August. A total of 1,727 members of the Black and White Army descended upon the Ricoh Arena to see the Magpies open their account for the campaign. As it turned out, the Sky Blues were in inspired form following their humiliating relegation from League One last season, and the teenage prodigy Jody Jones rattled a hat-trick past Notts for a 3-0 final result.
