Notts County assistant manager Richard Thomas is confident that Kristian Dennis's arrival at Meadow Lane means "a lot more goals walking through the door".

The Magpies had a bid rejected for the forward on Tuesday, but followed it up with an improved offer believed to be Β£150,000 which was enough to seal the deal.

Dennis, who scored 21 goals for the relegated Spireites, has signed a three-year contract at Meadow Lane in the club's biggest spend since the arrival of Izale McLeod from Crawley Town in 2015.

β€œKristian brings goals – and that’s what everybody’s craving,” Thomas told the Nottingham Post. β€œIt’s the hardest thing in the game to do, but he does it very successfully.

β€œHe’s a threat in and around the box – that’s where he’ll do most of his work. He’s a very good signing and hopefully it’s a lot more goals walking through the door.”
